Not for Me!
This letter is being written on behalf of my good friend, Ann Walsh.
You see, I don't need that incredible, wonderful organizer. My daughter got married in February and I have a whole room to call my own.
However, Ann does not.
Ann and I have been friends for almost 20 years. I had tried to encourage her to stamp with me for some time. She resisted, "couldn't afford it", "not creative", the usual excuses one hears... She ended up learning from a friend of mine. No matter. We now stamp together once a month, even though we are separated by almost 100 km.
Ann NEEDS this work station. Why? She lives in a tiny older house (less than 900 square feet). In this house she has raised two incredible children. They are her joy. Her husband is a faithful man who works in a grocery store. They have never had a lot of money (or space, hint, hint!). Actually now that I think of it, her bathroom doesn't have a shower or bathtub!!! It must be in the basement somewhere.
Ann's collection of stamping tools is slowly growing. But, as you can imagine, she doesn't have a lot of options for storage. She has a cabinet that holds her stamp pads. Her stamps are in a small closet in the single bedroom upstairs (I have never been in her basement, but that's where the family sleeps). Her paper is in a container kept under her computer desk. When she wants to stamp she does so on the kitchen table, which she faithfully cleans up for meal time (I never did the faithful cleaning when I was still in the Kitchen Table Phase of my stamping career).
Ann has long since surpassed my uploads to Splitcoast. One look at her gallery and you will see absolutely stunning samples, many of them made with teeny tiny scraps that I would ordinarily throw away, except that giving them to Ann makes me feel like Santa Claus. She gets so excited about those scraps, and I'm relieved that they're being used.
But, perhaps the most amazing thing about Ann, and why she deserves this organizer, is because she shares her love of stamping with absolutely everyone. She works at the local Senior's Centre and almost every day has another project that she can work on while she's there. She has brought me the most incredible customers, and because of her it's been easy to maintain my SU consultant status, now that I have had to cut back on my business due to family health issues.
Is there anyone more deserving? Possibly, but I can't think of anyone. I know that having her win this organizer would be small thanks, indeed, for the joy and sunshine she brings into my life and the life of those who are privileged to know her!
