But now that I think of it, it seems like some of my folders are different sizes. I know I have some Cuttlebug, Darice & Stampin Up. There might be other, just not sure (can't think right now off the top of my head).
I know that the 5x7 ones won't fit in here but what about the different brands? Especially Stampin Up? Do you have this binder and would you recommend it?

That folder looks nifty but I bet it costs a pretty penny and it takes up a lot of room whether you have 1 folder or it's full.
I went with something much simpler. A little plastic basket I got at W*Mart for about $2. I have about 20 folders in it, with their original packaging. I think without the packaging I could get at least 30.
I have this binder and I'm sorry that I got it. It holds Darice and Cuttlebug but none of the Sizzix embossing folders. I'm looking for another way to hold all my embossing folders.
I use a couple of baskets that have wire enforced rims (one came from Michaels). I think the size is intended for CD cases; so any CD storage bin is likely to work. I print labels for the top, but a Sharpie would work fine; some come with the folder name already imprinted.
Guess I'll nix the binder idea. Right now I just have them all thrown into a photo box. Might head to Michael's today so I'll see what I can come up with.

I got the binders from Consumer Crafts and I love them. They have two sizes of binders (one size for A2 folders and one size for 5 x 7 folders) and each binder holds 40 folders. I got them when they were on sale and I was also able to get the $1.87 shipping so it was a terrific deal.
Not sure which Sizzix folders the above poster wasn't able to fit into the pockets, but I was able to get my Alterations folders into the A2 pockets. I did notice that some of the pockets in the A2 binder are a little larger than others, so I just had to try different pockets to see where a folder would fit.
Very compact, neat storage and I like that I can leaf through the binders just like leafing through a book which makes it very easy to find a folder and to see exactly what you have.

I use the Really useful boxes in the 3 liter size from Office Depot. I presently have 7 of these and more waiting to be used. I store them alphabetically by maker first then name of folder. I have pictures in my gallery if interested.

I just saw that they have a binder for the larger sized 5x7 folders. Just wondering how easy it is to take any sized folder out of it's sleeve? Are the sleeves a bit loose or are they a little tight where it would sometimes be a pain to slide the folder out of the sleeve?

I just saw that they have a binder for the larger sized 5x7 folders. Just wondering how easy it is to take any sized folder out of it's sleeve? Are the sleeves a bit loose or are they a little tight where it would sometimes be a pain to slide the folder out of the sleeve?
The 5 x 7 embossing folders fit perfectly so they don't slip out of the pockets and it is easy to remove them from the pockets.
I even have some of the larger Spellbinders M-bossabilities folders in the 5 x 7 binder pocketss but the M-bossabilities folders measure 5-1/4 x 7-5/8 and you have to find a slot they'll fit into and they are in there snugly once in.
Hope this helps. These binders don't take up much storage space, either, which is important to me.

I'm the one who posted about the Sizzex embossing folders. I have arthritis in my hands and trying to squeeze the Sizzex folders in and out of the binder was too difficult for me. I wanted to keep them in some sort of order; i.e. all Halloween together, all Christmas - but found that some pockets were slightly larger or smaller and this didn't work out for me. The Darice and Cuttlebug folders slipped in just fine but too many of the Sizzex didn't and this defeated the purpose of keeping them together. I don't have the 5 x 7 binder, only the A2 size.

I'm currently using larger wire baskets. I like to keep sets together so I keep them in envelopes with a photo of the folder on the outside. I have an index card I embossed that I'll keep in a file on my desk. I have way too many folders to keep them on my work surface. I have them sorted by company, then name.

While I love Consumer Crafts, and will continue to buy from then, I purchased two of those binders and am sorry I did. My Darice and Cuttlebug folders fit very tightly in them and trying to get them out was horrible. I actually ripped one of the plastic sleeves to get my folder out. I went to baskets as well.
KricutKrazy, thank you for the inspiration! I had my embossing folders in a basket, but they didn't fit very well. They are now in one of my old CD crates... several of which I finally got up the gumption to paint, because of your photo! I thought I was fine with the natural look, until I saw yours. Now, they actually match my craft room color scheme, and I like them so much better!
(Yours is adorable. I wasn't ambitious enough to do anything fancy like polka dots - just painted some black, some red, and some yellow, to match my "Mickey Mouse" themed craft room. I used to work in music retail, and I have a bunch of those crates, now all re-purposed for craft supplies.)

Here is how I just finished organizing my embossing folders. I used a 5 1/2" x 8" Page Protector and used up a bright paper pack I had for some reason.
I was in a wonderful stamp/scrapbook store and they had samples of all the embossing folders on a ring. I thought that was a wonderful idea (and a fabulous selling point-I wanted them all.) I could tell with time of course, they would get worn so I decided to use a page protector.
I used my labeler to put the names on them and company. (Except I didn't label the Cuttlebug ones because I have so many. I didn't want to waste all my labeler tape.)
The first picture (if it works) is the embossing folders in a 9L Really Useful Box.
The second picture is showing the folders alphabetized.
Here are a couple more pictures (I can't believe this is working! :-) )
I wrote the company name on the cardstock also and I also put the embossing folder in the page protector. I also wrote notes if there was anything special that I needed to make the folder work ( extra shim, ect.)
I love that I can find which embossing folder to use and to see it. I can also see if I want to use the debossed side instead of the embossed side. Before it was a nightmare and it would take it forever.

To keep the folders from sticking to the vinyl, I made a sample of each folder using an A2 cardstock. Slip the cardstock in between the folder and the vinyl and it won't stick....PLUS...you can see the actual embossed paper, making it easier to see the design.
I love these binders and being able to flip through them. I bought multiples of both the regular and the 5X7 for my larger folders.

I went with The Really Useful Boxes too. Then I embossed a piece of scrap card with each folder, and put them all in an A5 ringbinder, stored by theme, or brand. I.'E Floral, Tim Holtz,Frames etc. Easy to flick through, and the box is divided up into the same categories.
