Good morning everyone,
I am re-organizing how I store my SU stamp pads. I don't have the revolving caddy they sell in the SU catalogue (wish I could afford it!), but I do have some new jetmax cubes that have drawers.
I would like to store my SU classic stamp pads verically (standing up on when they open), so the hinge to the pad and sample color strip faces looking up at me.
I don't think I'm "savvy" enough to be able to identify the SU color I need just by looking at the color strip facing up, so I'd like to create a label for pad that faces me. I measured this space to be 3/8" tall and 1.5" wide.
Has anyone else made labels for their SU stamp pads for storage/organization purposes? If yes, can you help me out and let me know how you did it? Photo would be awesome! Any and all ideas are awesome!!
You really shouldn't store stamp pads on their ends like that. They are designed to have the ink pad upside down when stored right. This keeps the ink on top of the pad where you need it most.
I'd also be afraid that they'd leak if you stored them on end.
Just a note, SU's ink pads already have the ink pad upside down if you store them with the colored info on top. No need to keep them upside down as the design already does that for you. That's why you have to slide, flip and then slide when you open them. ;)

I had one on it's end accidentally and it leaked! So I wouldn't store them like that...it was quite a mess! Like the above poster said, they are made so that the ink pad is upside down to keep them nice and juicy. I would imagine that stored on their end they might not ink up your stamps very well either as one end would be juicy and one end drier.
I used address labels, typed two ink pad names to a label, then cut them out with my word window punch from SU and they fit on the end of my ink pads perfectly!
I made these labels for the current colors, and the '10-11 incolors.
You can print onAvery Label stock, or printer paper and cut to fit.
SU used to have index labels you could purchase. I too have been wanting to put the names on because I don't know them all. I am pretty good at guessing, but it would be so nice. I have saved your file and will try it soon. I appreciate the time all you ladies put into creating files and then sharing them with us so we don't have to start from scratch. Thank you Indy_Patti!

I have one of those carousels and frankly --- it's not my favorite piece of equipment. The only reason I haven't trashed it is because of the cost! Right now I use it to hold my odd ink pads ... I store all my SU! stamp pads in a wooden cassette holder I bought at a thrift store for something like $3. I've seen smaller versions, but mine holds up to 100 pads flat so no leaks.
I can hang it on a wall or sit on a table.
I am going to try this one! Do you use a specific label sheet to print out or do you print on CS and glue?
I printed off the sheet on a sheet of thick white CS, ran it through the Xyron--
laminate one side and permanent adhesive on the other, then used the word window punch.

I only have the 1 1/2 in xyron so I guess maybe I will try to find a full sheet label that I can print on and then punch out. I am not sure they would line up on my labels sheets so this is the next best thing.

You can use the "X" machine...thats how I made the labels for my daubers.
