I need a template for the insert for the clear mount cases. I am converting all my wood to clear mount and want them to look like the ones I purchase when I store them on my shelves....
I am confused. When I printed out the template the area that should be the spine printed on the left side of the paper. How can you print it so it is in the center?

I'll have to work on this and see how to fix it. It may be awhile before I get back to you. Probably sometime tonight.
Kalakitty- I printed it landscape but I would think that the spine part should start in the middle of the page so when folded it will fit across the spine and on each side of the case.

That's how is should be --- there is no back cover, or you couldn't see your stamps--it is just the front and the spine, the spine should be on the left...

I made up some instructions for using the edited Word document. This insert is not made to go all around the DVD case. It is made like the SU inserts. I have made another full size template for you. I am attaching two versions of this. One version is plain and you can't really see where the text boxes are. The other version you will need to delete my text and pictures but it shows you where the information goes. I modified the instructions slightly but they should be OK to follow for both the regular size and the full size inserts. Let me know how this works for you.
Thanks for the instructions in word that really helps..I appreciate everyones time for the sets they have posted already.. I think now with these templates I can do my own..WHich is great since I have a ton of retired sets..
Of course I will not sure when I will get around to trying it... Still trying to figure out if the DVD cases are going to be the way to go .. I dont mind sharing and figure that there will be people like me who are afraid to give up stamp sets I know as soon as I give up one then I would need it LOL...Guess that is why I have so many and in need of storage ideas
Well, I am using the cases from SU so that all my stuff matches and is the same size...It will take me forever to get them all converted (200+ stamp sets)...yuck! But it will look so good when I am thru!
Thank you so much for these instructions. Just printed out a few for the sets I have already unmounted. Had to tweak a little as I use a different paper size, but otherwise worked really well. Thank you for so so much, I really appreciate your helpfulness to others.
I wish I would have looked here for some templates before I made mine. I did see some requests for ones that are centered. I have the same issue. My printer likes its margins. So I figured I'd share mine and an example of one completed with the images on the spine. If you look closely, there are some very faint lines to use as a cutting guide.

I am in a stamp club and I got them as my hostess benefits, I am also going to sell the wood blocks and clam shell cases to recover part of my expense. I am pretty picky about my stamps and I want them to all look the same on the shelf, so I really don't mind if the cases cost a little bit more.
Thank you to everyone who has created all of the SU inserts, i really appreciate all of your hard work.
Just wondering if anyone has created a similar insert for storing the Justrite stamp in the DVD cases?
...Or the Gina K Designs stamp sets? Or Nestabilities/Framelits/other thin dies? Maybe someone has a more generic template that doesn't say "Stampin' Up!", that could be used for other brands of stamps and dies?? Thanks, everyone for all the great templates and ideas!!
Great info! Thanks for the Files gals, much appreciated!
I have been looking at different ideas for storing framelits/nesties and just decided I am going to use the SU DVD cases. Timing is perfect for templates! TFS!
Naomi if you check out the templates posted in this thread, you can edit them for the Non SU product you have, the image can be easily removed. A person could even colour code other brands.
Runae before you sell all your clamshells, they are great for storing other items in, I have my Bigz dies, etc stored in some, then I keep extra diecuts with the corresponding Die, I have found this very handy. Some even have 2 embossing folders in them, kept the image from packaging and put inside the case, and labelled the edges. I did that for my SU embossing folders ( I am a demo) but am going to the DVD cases for some other embossing folders I have, some CB folders are a bit taller like Lacy Labels, Measure by Measure but fit perfect in the DVD case. I was just going to file them using the cardboard and packaging they come in, but like you mentioned I also prefer having them all the same sizes, and I like the cases since I can hold unused embossed or cut images together in the case.
Bonnie I looked the other day at Staples and the empty DVD Cases there had a ridgy thing to hold the DVD in place, so beware, also the Stampin Up ones have a nice spot on the outside to slip in a clear SU insert.
You can order DVD cases without the insert online at Sleeve City. You want to order the King Jewel cases and specify that you want them unassembled. I just got my delivery from them and I love the cases....and the price is great!
