It's been a trip in more ways than one. We moved back home to IL from CA, sold our home and purchased another, had my furniture shipped, drove my DH and 4 cats over 2,000 miles, waited a month for our furniture to arrive, a hospitalization and surgery for me, and I'll bore you no more on the trials and tribulations of the recent months.
My craftroom is complete except for curtains on the entry doors and window. It works for me, and I absolutely love it! I will never know what possesses builders to put windows in small rooms so dang low!
My Craftroom
The French doors are white! Thanks for letting me share my special place with you. Hugs
Had to add, the Cricut Air was a gift from my daughter. She thought the nearly 200 cartridges I moved across the country should be used. I'll admit it's a pretty nice machine, but I'm stilled pissed at PC for suing everyone
Gorgeous! Sorry about the trials and tribulations, but hopefully they're all behind you now... Enjoy your amazing new space and all the wonderful things in it!
Oh my GOSH - what an amazing space and QUITE the adventure! Four cats on a trip that long? You are amazing!

Thanks so much! It's so good to be settled and feeling better. Now I can start catching up with what my SCS friends have been up to! Sorry for so many pics. I'm not a great picture taker and it was hard in my 10x12 small area, and couldn't decide which to post.
Wow! That is incredible. What an awesome space, so much storage and so beautiful, too!
I hope you have a spare room because many of us will want to stop by for a week or so just to play in your new room!
That's not small.
My craft room is small ... 9x10, with a door and small closet taking up most of one wall and a window smack in the middle of another. It's very cramped, but it's mine, all mine! (mostly 'cause I have no room to share. LOL)

Sounds like we have identical rooms! I took the door off mine to save that space for shelving.
Wow, Anne, that's one incredible craft studio. So glad all the unexpected twists and turns have been resolved so you can start to enjoy this gorgeous space.

You're so right Jan, we do need our 'girl's cave'8-). I'm still struggling with the window Diane, so much waisted space. Lydia, I love your cat perch! There's only one problem, I need 4, LOL. Melissa you and any SCS friends are welcome anytime. You're so right, I'm just lucky to have my own getaway room, remembering those days when I had craft supplies in every closet, on tables, in boxes, and having to remember where to find things. Plus the mad race to clean the tables off for dinner, until I found having them grab their food and find a place to sit was easier solution:grin: Thanks Anne and CottageBliss, I am happy to be settled, and do plan to finally spend so time in my 'Girl's Cave'. I'm loving Jan's 'Girl's Cave' theme, I need to make a sign
If I did, they wouldn't care if the window was 18 inches high or 36. As long as there was a lounging station! And the sun was there! Our cats were barn cats and they loved the windowsills regardless of height.
I am totally envious and in awe. Everytime I feel guilty about the amount of stuff I have in my small dungeon space, I see exciting rooms filled with stuff I haven't even thought about buying YET. Enjoy your space. Happy creating--Happy new home.
Oh, I miss my cat ... but have no plans to get another. I love them, but I don't love their litter box.
I have one low-set window in my home. It's in the living room. The sill isn't very wide, so he'd sit there and watch the birds, but for lounging he'd jump onto the back of the love seat, which was in front of the window.

I have doors like this to my stamping room too! I have low windows too. I love my low windows! You have a lovely space. I bet you will have tons of fun in there. Thanks for the pictures. Fun to see.

Annecards, in the next to last pic, you have some white shelving. How wide are they and where did you get them. Thanks so much.

The panels are approximately 84" high, my tape measure made it hard to me accurately. I was able to accurately measure the shelves. Those pictured are 14" x 27". I also have 14" x 35" shelves and drawers not pictured. They're extremely sturdy and attached to the wall. They were already installed when we bought the house. I think the brand may be Closet Maid, I couldn't find a brand name anywhere. Hope this helps.

Lucky you to have them already installed. I've been wanting some shelving that is deeper than typical 12" bookshelves. Never thought to look for closet shelving. I checked out the Closet Maid site and they have something that will fit my space. Thanks for the info.

Happy you were able to find something from Closet Maid to work with your space. Their shelving is amazingly strong and looks great. They look like they're pretty easy to install, and customizable to any space.
Wow. I love the darker cabinetry against the buttery yellow wall. beautiful contrast. What a great space. I hope that with everything behind you, you can take the time to enjoy your space and visit with us often. I'm due for a trip to IL so you never know when I might send you a message ;-) Creative Blessings in your new space!

We are closing on a house in Coral Springs Fl. next Friday. I hear what you're saying about low windows. My craft room will be 12 x 10 but there are two windows on the end wall, they are almost in the corners and are pretty much to the floor. Therefore these corners are useless. I am looking at making sure cabinetry and desks etc. are at least a foot away.

A tricky thing to work with for sure. Could you maybe put a sitting area in that corner. Just a couple of small chairs and a table to sit with a cuppa and a catalog?

That's a great idea! Right now I have an IKEA unit there, but will keep that in mind for sure, thanks for posting such a great idea!
