I don't have a lot so may not be the best resource for you. Here's what I have going on...
I have the foils I am most likely to use this season in this little turnabout on my desk. Seeing them reminds me to use them ;)
The rest are in the drawer next to my laminating machine and pastes. Hope this helps!
Mine are stored in an Paper Pumpkin box, in a container with the rest of my Hot Foil plates and directions. I have two boxes where one has foil and the other has the foil cutting system. I have my large scissors in the same container. This way when I am ready to foil, I just open the container and everything is there. My plates are sorted by Christmas and everything else in Ziploc bags. I really do not have too many to need more sorting. I do not use Deco foil to get them mixed up.
I have quite a few of the GoPress & Foil foils in their original boxes. I keep them in a plastic drawer unit. The top drawer holds my hot foil plates and tools.
I saw this idea on YouTube - not sure who it was that was doing it but when I saw it I thought it would work for me and it does! I use a 24 pocket Presentation binder/book (8.5" x 11"). Mine is completely clear so I put a white sheet of copy paper in and then the pieces of foil divided by colors. Of course you have to cut them into sizes that will fit into the pockets but that wasn't an issue for the way I use it and I can store it easily right next to my bin where I store my foiling supplies.
smower just gave me an idea...what about clear shoe bags that hang on the back of your door/in your closet (or on a wall if you have the room)? Each pocket could be a color group. I guess it depends on how deep the pockets are and if they expand out.

There is one on Michael’s website that will hang over a door or on the wall that holds them nicely. Think it’s like $20. If I can find it later, will try to post it. Having trouble remembering the way I found it. It is an online only for the most part since they don’t have them in the brick and mortar stores. (I’m just fearful my cat will turn it into his own personal ladder!)

I use Christmas Cookie Tins that are quite large--8 1/2" x 9" x 3 3/4" (Deep). The two that I'm using are quite full now, & I know I have another one somewhere & will have to pull that one out to use too. (I think I have Washi Tape in that one.) Once they're all three full, I will store the extra foils in a plastic container & move up in size from there for storage. I found the tins at Walmart back in the day with little cookies in them. (Red with little white & silver snowflakes on them). They fit nicely on my desk shelves, snuggled on the bottom shelf where I do my foiling, so I can access them easily! ;)
Thanks Adriana. That's what also gave me the idea! I have seen people do that. People put all kinds of things in those.
This is where I geek out. lol
I like the look of that vinyl thing...those rolls are bigger than the foils so we could probably fit a lot in there...but I don't see how you access them? There must a zipper... Does anyone else? At 6 inches deep it could hold a lot!
Michaels also has a desktop spinner but I suspect the dowels are too big for our foils. But it is an interesting idea...if some DIYer wanted to take a spinner and attach dowels and do it in steps to get more in for the same footprint. A person would have to also make holes in the ends of the tubes for the foils in some cases. I would guess you would start with an awl and then cut the hole. Some come with no ends-just in a bag. The I-craft deco foils are 7 1/2" with the pull top and 1 1/8" diameter.
I found some triple level general spinners but then it occurred to me that one would have to "dig out" the rolls on the two lower levels vs just a lift out. But that might ok for people who have duplicate colors. The sides are also a little low though.

I have mine in a 3 drawer wood storage cube from Michaels (the kind that are about 14" square). I do have "lots", so all 3 drawers are full, with an Iris scrapbooking case full of duplicates (What can I say, when I'm obsessed, I'm MAJOR LEAGUE obsessed!) I have both rolls, mostly Minc, and sheets of various other brands. I still don't have every color- notably missing black & white.
(Well, now I have black & white, too. I have to say the white on colored cs looks fabulous!)
I cut mine into 4 x 6 (approximately) sheets and put each color in its own pocket, then store the pockets together flat in a magazine box on a shelf. A photo album would also work well.
