I have a snippit tool, but haven't gotten to play with it yet. However, Amy's suggestion worked. Splitcoast has a great bunch of people always willing to help. :p

Thanks to everyone for sharing... I still am using Word for my lists, but all I am seeing around the forum is that Evernote is the way to go!

You guys are the best!

If you'd like to save a couple steps, you don't even have to save it. Once you snip it you can copy it and then paste it into a note. ;)

I've been collecting digital paper kits from Snap Click Supply when they have the One Buck Wednesday. I am getting quite a few and so I don't accidentally buy them twice I made a notebook for it. I had 16 kits when I decided I wanted a notebook, and it was much faster to copy and paste the pics instead of saving each one and then going thru and attaching pics to notes.

As we get ready to move, I've decided to start stamping again--I'll actually have space in our new house! Can I just say, this is the coolest ever. THANK YOU to all who took the time to put these together and share them. WOW!

I just started using Evernote. It was super easy to import the files. I wonder how long it'll take me to make my own lists of (ancient) supplies.

OK, I do have a question though. I have Windows 8, and the snipping tool and drag and drop don't seem to work since I can't go between screens. Is there a way around this?

Just joining the Evernote club - any advice or things you wished you had done? TIA

And yes I am reading through this thread already but if you would like to highlight anything particularly useful that would be great!

I absolutely loooove Evernote! I am pulling stamp sets I had forgotten about because I do a search for example "baby", and coming up with lots of options. Just be sure you list any relevant word for every stamp set you enter so you can have lots of options when you search. Baby, birthday, flower, sympathy, thanks, what ever hits you at that moment. Evernote picks up printed words, but not always words that are in script, so just type in all the words in your stamp set. Enjoy the process. It can be a blast!

I have done 27 stamp sets in 2 days... so many more to go. It is great that I am able to do this whilst watching tv with the family.

Any advice on tagging. I am copying and pasting my image but find that because I am tagging everything and categories that it is slight burdensome to tag so much. I look at it as saving time later. Just wish there was a quicker way. I don't mind the typing, it's the multiple clicks and/or awkward ctrl/sht/T and then the T way not always taking the tag... that is slowing me down. Well, that and looking for pictures of my stamps because so many are retired, I really don't want to scan them....

You can drag multiple notes to the right and add multiple tags to all of them at one time! For example after you add your stamp sets....drag all the ones that you want to tag with floral (I do this on the desktop version), and then add the tag and it will add it to all of them. Saves a lot of time and typing. I usually did this every evening after I added a bunch. (You can also sort your notes by date created so you'll know which ones you need to add tags to...)

hmmm. I'm not certain I understand how to do this. Just tried and maybe I am trying to do this in the wrong setup.

Anyway I have exceeded my monthly limit the next 11 hrs - I think I will wait, it's a busy month and I don't want to pay the upgrade and not use it.

Obsessed with Evernote!! I've just started listing all my stamps, ink pads, wheels and decorative papers are next! I have done all of it on my iphone, its easy to snap a pic, tag it and move on to the next one. I'm sure this will help me when it comes to making a card and while out shopping and can't remember what I have. Enjoy everyone!!

I've totally just used 55.4MB of space in one day. Might need to buy that month after all.

Now to work on group tagging.

Because of the size of the files...I had to break them down into 10 downloads (  :shock Mine are all in one notebook in my Evernote...so once you import them, you can combine them!!

If you are on the desktop version....just click on a note, hold the control key down and click on additional notes. This will move them to the right side as a group. Then you can click on add tag (under the group of notes on the right) and add a tag (or however many tags that you want) and it will apply those tags to the group of notes you have selected. Make sense?

Smile Use it, LOVE IT!!!

I haven't had the chance to read through all the comments yet, but wanted to comment. I have been using Evernote for just over a year now and I have ALL my stamps, dies, punches, and embossing folders currently in it. I have been working on this for the whole time and I've been updating as needed. I LOVE IT!!! I like to add a couple of pics of samples using each stamp set when I'm making each note. I'm glad to see that others are using and enjoying it also.

PM me if you would like more information on what I do. I'm trying to get a tutortial up on my blog since I've had so many ask for one.

Default notebooks for craft etc

Started to read some of the threads on this topic of keeping track of stamps, papers, punches, dies etc, etc, etc.
Sent a message asking how to set up a database to do this, then read that most of you seem to use 'Evernote'?
We have just bought a new pc and hubby has upgraded to windows 10 and something else (can't remember what) and am still trying to get used to all the new bits and uses. Mind you, never was good at using the old windows 7 but could at least find my way around after some hiccups :p
Any hints, tips and help for learning what and how Evernote is would be most appreciated and help a harassed crafter from going even greyer than am already
Thanks for all the words of wisdom on here.

Hi all,

I have used Evernote for quite some time. I have made many listings for my die cuts, stamps, etc. One thing I am noticing is that some of my pictures don't show in the preview screen and some do. Is there a way to get all of them to show up? Also, in reading, people say they drag their picture into Evernote rather than copying and pasting, however, when I try to do this, Evernote drops to the bottom of my screen? Any help is greatly appreciated. I really want to use this to the best of its capabilities.

Tammy
