I had read on a blog (I think AmyR's??) that the BISK was being discontinued. I haven't seen the Sizzix kit anywhere yet in real life.
Here is the link on the Sizzix page Sizzix Texturz Kit
It is, naturally, out of stock. :-) It *looks* like the same stuff, but it doesn't give any dimensions. If I were a betting gal, I'd say it's the same thing, just repackaged under the newly-acquired Sizzix name. There doesn't seem to be a paisley plate anymore, though.
Thank you for this HUGE piece of work you undertook! I have a question about the Ellison Thin Cuts as well... Archiver's has them on sale so I got a couple. They don't cut all the way through when I use ABB. I tried using ABC and it won't go through the machine, it's too thick. Any suggestions...?
try flipping your die over cutting the other direction up. Some dies cut better foam side up (cuttlebug dies), others foam side down (Sizzix).
Then if that doesnt work, try adding a cardstock shim between the A and bottom B.
We'd love a full report
I just noticed the Sizzix should go down when I printed the guide off...will definitely do that next time. I will play with my Ellison's tonight and report back :-)
I'm on pins and needles waiting for my bug. Can't wait to play. :-) I wanted to subscribe so I could find the help I needed (because I know I'm going to need a lot of help) quickly.
Thanks for all your help.

Your gonna love it ....I just got 6 more embossing folders today and 2 embossing sets from happyscrappin.....and i have been playing all afternoon few burnt offerings for dinner as a result lol
I was at Michael's yesterday and saw a demo--the girl had never used it before so we tried it together! I didn't get it because I knew this thread was around here somewhere and wanted to do some "research" before buying. I printed out the chart---thanks!---and will use the Michael's one for the Cuttlebug and Joannes' has the accessories on sale for 30% off right now!

Just tried using the Fiskar's Texture Plates for the first time.
I got a Plumber's Gasket Kit from the hardware store. First I
tried the thinnest black piece of highly stinky (LOL!) floppiest
rubber, using A, FTP, cardstock, stinky rubber, C. It went
through the bug just fine, but I don't think it
was tight enough- the embossing wasn't very good.
Tried again with the same stack, but used a thicker gasket sheet
instead of the stinky one, this one is a mottled brown/black.
It was much tighter, and I was really debating with myself if I
should carry on trying to put it through!
It did go through but I held my breath all the way. It was a much
better result, similar to the CB folders.
I immediately ran a regular CB folder through to see if I had done
any damage, but it still works fine!
HTH someone,
Karen.

What do you mean by to push the paper through?? :-) LM
Sorry, I'm just checking back to this thread. I hope I can explain in words what I meant. Basically the bug operates by putting pressure on your sandwich stack. with the embossing folders the paper is pressed between the plastic, taking on the impression that is on the folder.
the dies are basically blades in the different shapes, when the "sandwich" is rolled through, it presses the blade against the paper to make the cut.
Brass stencils are thicker, and putting a piece of paper and rolling it through the machine is not gonna do anything. Now, add a rubber gasket in your sandwich. When this stack is rolled through the machine it basically squeezes all the layers together. The flexible rubber gasket gets squeezed against the paper and into the stencil, thereby making the impression. I hope this explanation helps clarify what I meant. Just ask again if you dont understand and I'll try again.

You might experiment with spritzing your cardstock with a little water and then using the thinner stack. I'd hate to see you break your bug from using too thick a stack.

Yes, I read the sandwich stack chart again after I posted this, and thought I'd try spritzing next time, or using a chipboard shim as well as the thinnest stinky gasket.
It's hard to know how much is too much- I've never seen or used a bug apart from my own! Who knew if it was just supposed to be tight like that?
The card I made with the FTP cardstock is at: Fishy Birthday Shaker by otagogirl at Splitcoaststampers

Cuttlebug has a sandwich stack posted too - I di dnt have time to compare them but I am posting in case it is any help. It is midway on this page: http://www.provocraft.com/blog/index.php

Interesting that it looks really close to my Stack list which they posted about a while back, here.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I have been wanting to purchase a Cuttlebug, but couldn't justify the expense. Knowing that I can use so many different embossing folders and dies is wonderful and I am now sold. Your hard work of putting this list together is sooo appreciated!
Has anyone tried the Wizard dies that both cut and emboss? I was at a stamping convention this weekend and they had so many to choose from but I didn't know if they would work in the cuttlebug. If you have tried them, would you please let me know and add the sandwich you used to the cuttlebug list? Thanks so much.
I couldn't tell from the Wizzard website what the physical die looks like. I have an Ellison Cut'n'Emboss flower that works fine with the normal ABB sandwich. The actual die is along the lines of an embossing folder, but it's only 2.5" square, is hinged and is metal inside like a die so it can do both features. Hope that helps...
I just got my CB about 50 min ago and got it all opened and checked out. For the embossing folders, I assume that you take your cardstock and cut it to quarter sheets, then put a quarter sheet in it? I can't wait to try it!

That definitely works. But, you can also use an entire card (folded), only putting the front through the folder.
I've borrowed a friend's Wizard dies to use on my CB and they worked fine doing both the cutting and the embossing. It's a bit of a pain because you have to switch the plates around to do the second step for embossing but it worked no problem.
We did this sandwich recipe A plate/ C plate/ Wizard die/ Cardstock/ B plate
then when you want to emboss A plate/Wizard die, ridges up/Cardstock/ Tan embossing mat/ B plate
I hope that it works for you. I'd love to hear your results.
yes, do post your results on the Wizard dies. Cat has been updating the list but usually only after the results have been verified/confirmed by another bug user.
