Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
I am thrilled to announce that we have a very inspirational guest hostess this week, Nancy Stislow! Nancy has been sharing her wonderful creations and inspiring us all on SCS since early 2008 (her gallery is amazing!) She has been so encouraging to me this week while we prepared to challenge you, so I will probably ask her to hostess with us often as possible!
You'll get to relax and just enjoy the beauty and artistic nature of a zillion color combinations! I have discovered over time that color challenges reach the widest range of experience levels. With beginner stampers finding it much easier to select 1 to 3 colors in a palette, whereas more advanced stampers often want to use the entire palette, and even are inspired by the photos and textures as well! We are both hoping that you will create your own "fresh art" as a result of this wonderful inspiration site!
Challenge Goals:
Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
Use the keyword: IC454 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded five of my favorites...so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.

Gosh, Design-Seeds seems to have changed a lot since I last visited, or quite likely my memory is at fault.
Since my first try at a blue colour-palette with a stencil failed, and I didn't want to waste it, I combined it with another image I had picked out.
Here's my IC454 Live Life in Blues
This was a fun challenge today! I agree Nancy is FANTASTIC and would make a wonderful accessory to these challenges!! I chose this image for my inspiration. INSPIRATION

Both card samples are lovely!!! Thanks for the fun inspiration site! I almost went with a Christmas card because the page I stopped on has such a cool mid-east building but in the end I combined with another challenge and used the building as inspiration for my papers!
Thanks for the fun challenge!
Audrie- great site, thanks! I was inspired by the blue/fresh hues/color + and went with a pie themed ATC with a speckled blue pie plate and red accents, including a sparkly red heart. Here's Sweet As Pie ATC
