New post (December 29):
(also post #299 ... you're not seeing double! LOL!)
Hi all, Just got off the phone with Gina and here's the scoop:
Gina K has open houses, about 6 a year (I did not know that!) and the next one is scheduled for Jan 31, 10:00 - 3:00. There will be a lot of fun things going on: make n takes, coupons, etc. There will be others, most likely in March and May.
Sooooooo, rather than asking them to open special for us, how about ... on the days that Gina K's has open houses, we (those of us who can make it into town) meet up at Culver's for lunch. There, we could enjoy each other's cards and creations and each other's company. That way folk could come and go to Gina's as schedules allow, take advantage of the cool things going on there, and still get some SCS friend time in. I'd be happy to reserve a table for us. What do you think?

I really want to do this, however, November 15th is out for me, as I have a workshop that day. :(
I also have one November 2nd, but my other Saturday's in November are wide open, as are all my Saturday's in December.
However, if November 15th is what works for everyone else, I don't want anyone to re-plan just on my behalf.........I'll just catch ya next time if that's what works best for everyone.
Awesome awesome idea, so I hope we can work something out!
Location: ... in the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin.

I love Gina K - she is a living doll. When I was a demo, we had the same upline (couple levels up). I would love to come. Thanks to Cathi for giving me a heads up about this thread.
I've been ordering from Gina and was hoping that someday I would be able to cruise the aisles at her store. This would be a perfect day for me. I don't have anything planned that day.
Count me in.!

Hope y'all can make it -- I have the wickedest brownie recipe! (and Cathi, the more the merrier in the treat dept., don'tcha think? bring em on!) We'll for sure have heart/hip healthy treats, too.

Where is Gina K's at? I may be interested in coming. Elaine
It's just a bit off Hwy 51 in McFarland, just outside (southeast) of Madison. You'll see a Pick N Save grocery on 51, take that little road, and it's across the street. It's a smaller shop (I think most of Gina's business is via the net), so if we start to get over about 20, we may have to relocate, but it'll be close by so anyone who wants to go see her place still can.

Wow...thanks for getting back to me so quickly!!! I will talk to a few of my friends and see if they want to come down. Elaine
Hi Elaine! Hope you can make it! I see you're from Friendship............believe it or not, I'm familiar with that area. A good friend of mine lives in Adams, and for a number of years I lived between Baraboo and the Dells so I got up there quite a bit. Now I'm an hour further south so I haven't been up there in quite some time now.
Jeanie, is this just going to be a get together to stamp or would we swap cards maybe IF people wanted to participate in that? Just curious...
I'm really in it to meet y'all. Whatever we want to do is great with me. We could bring samples of our work, or we could bring cards to swap, or ...? What sounds like fun ladies?

Hi all,
Spoke with Jessica (jessjenn here on SCS) at Gina K's. They'll be happy to have us!
Coupla things:
1) Jessica was wondering if we would like a class. We can do a make-n-take sort of thing, or we could do a Copic markers coloring class, or ...? OR we can just hang out, bring our own projects or cards to share. They're are very OK with whatever we're interested in.
2) How does a 10ish time sound to meet up? The store is currently not open on Saturdays, so they'll be opening up special for us.
3) Do we want to do lunch somewhere nearby? Say 12:30ish? There are a bunch of fun places to choose from with pretty reasonable prices.
Can't wait to see y'all!
P.S. Karen (Karen3000 here on SCS) mentioned the annual Rubberstamp & Scrapbook Show (Nov. 22-23) at the Aliant Center in Madison. Gina will be there Friday ( a pre-event event?) and Gina K Designs will have a booth. If anyone wants more info here's a link: StampScrapMadison.com

I have been to this event, and would highly recommend it to everyone..........it's a ton of fun, lots of new things to learn and do.
As far as the other stuff Jean, I'm good with whatever anyone wants to do. A class, no class, make-n-take, no make-n-take..........really doesn't matter, I'm just excited to meet some more SCS'ers! (if everyone is as wishy-washy as me, than you might have some decisions to make all by yourself! ;) )
Lunch sounds great though...........I definitely know I like to eat!
WOW! This sounds really great! I will have to check with DH to see if we have anything going on. If the roads are good I would love to go. Its only a
2 1/2 hour drive for me.
Jean, I'm in for whatever you all decide as well. A make n take or a class or a swap all sound fine to me...even if it's all optional. Lunch sounds great as well. Thanks for organizing!
oh no! If we're going to be like BFF and me -- trying to make a decision -- we're in serious trouble! LOL!
The main thing is that we're getting together to have fun!
So what sounds like the most fun for you? (You can just post a number or add comments)
1. Free spirit -- coming for meeting, gabbing, checking out Gina's place. Bringing cards to share/show if the spirit moves you.
2. Shoebox swap with plenty of gabbing.
3. Make-n-take and gabbing
4. Learning how to color with Copic markers and gabbing.
K ladies, there are the choices ... pick one!

I am new to Appleton and have been wanting to make a trip to Gina K's, but I have a dog show that weekend - but, I would love to try to make it the NEXT time.
I mentioned this to my friend Diane while we were on a road trip today and she thought it was a great idea and she is going to check her calendar.
Who do you know in Adams-Friendship Cathi? I have lived here my whole life, I may know them!
We need to go for lunch for sure!!! And of course chocolate is a must! Tee Hee! Otherwise it doesn't matter to me what we do. I am wishy washy too! But having a class on the copics sounds like great fun to me as I don't have them and would like to try them out. I think Diane would like that too as she is interested in them also. But what ever you come up with will be fine with us! Elaine
Ok, I'm gonna bite the bullet and cast my vote for #1.........free spirit. I would love to just get together and do what moves us......but at the same time, I'd be up for anything.
Elaine, my friend is Brenda Nuss. She used to cut hair up there, not sure if she still does. I haven't talked to her in ages actually, we were close for a long time and then kind of drifted. Do you know her? (small world and all you know!)
Bravery awards for the ladies who stepped up and voted!!!! (Pshshshsh ..... hear that applause in the background?!)
Keep it comin!
