Well, other than not finding a job yet, my days are pretty good. I give myself a list of things to accomplish each day and so far I've been able to complete the list. The trick is not to make the list too long. It also helps if you can have multiple things going at once. While laundry is doing it's thing, work on other things.
Looking forward to Sat. in Madison.

hey I have a remember when question for those CURDS that did the Expo show in Madison. A group of us went to a scrapbook store afterwards and they were demoing large size backgrounds stamps. Anyone remember whose produce that was? I can't remember if it was an embossing folder or an actual stamp.

I hope someone pipes up ... I'm curious.

I wasn't there for the demo but was it the large impression obsession 6x6 background stamps? The ones that I thought Jean bought the giant rocker block for at archiver's when we cropped last? (Maybe with tigerlily?)

Impression Obsession's 6x6's is what I thought of at first too, but they don't come in embossing folders, do they? If it is IO's 6x6's, I'm curious about the technique (well, I'm curious about the technique anyway ... lol!)

That Diane she's was right, you guys are the best source!! Yes that is the product, you reminded me of it whe you menioned the rocker. Thank you. So then what's your opinion on the product? I liked the background images they demoed, and I'm thinking I may order.
I thnk they work well--when I used a stamp instead of an embossing folder. I love it that they are so big and cover the entire card. The rocker part works so well!
I didn't watch the demo, but they used the Mega Mount by Impression Obsession and Cover-a Card 5.75" x 5.75" background stamps. I have this and love it. Before this I had problems with big background stamps - not getting the center to appear or it was very faint. With this every part of the stamp shows up on the paper.

I have several of these background stamps and I love them! (in all honesty, only one has actually touched ink ... but I have great plans for the rest. lol!)

For those of us who have loved Scrapbooking & Stamping Memories (even if we didn't love their name ...lol!), they are closing their doors. Everything is going on sale as of today. They will be gone by the end of Feb. (Their Janesville store was one of my all time fav places! :( )

I haven't been there, but just checked their website (Welcome To Scrapbook & Stamping Memories!) and facebook page (Not on their email list) - it says they're doing a pre-CHA clearance of 30% off everything through today. Maybe I'll wait until tomorrow to see if they have better deals for pre-closing clearance. It's Restaurant Week tonight!
I did find it funny though in the Scrapbook Superstore's email today they had to clarify "no no, it's not us that's closing!"

I just got this email and am sick about it. This place has a nice selection, is locally run, and is really close to where I live.
Sad about the LSS closing in Janesville (and the one on the east side of Madison) too. The one in Madison is pretty close to me (about 3-4 miles down the road). My mom and I both loved the Janesville store, we made a day trip out of going there.

Considering the store on the east side's sign just says SCRAPBOOK STORE, it's no wonder people are confused. The sale right now is actually 40% off, not the 30% off for CHA clearance.

shopping on Saturday in Madison was fun. 30% off on the west side and then 40% off on the east side--shared my dollars with both. Now, I am planning to go to the store in Janesville later this week where I can spend some time checking out the paper.

Snowy day here...a great day to snuggle in and make cards! I didn't work today because I have two night programs this week.
I couldn't really do much with card making because we are hosting a card workshop at my agency on Thurs. night. All my basics are @ work. Paper cutter, adhesive, punches, the inks I needed, etc. I was sooooo frustrated!
I ended up venturing into Lacrosse for some shopping and sliding on snow. When I got home I realized I have one stazon brown ink here and I got out my Making Memories oval cutter system that I have never used in the six years I've owned it. At least I got started on some valentines...I just so wanted to stamp and my job is about 50 miles away, so I really couldn't go and get my stuff!

I went to the Janesville store last Saturday and got great deals on paper, got two more stamps to go with my rocker, I love that thing, I honestly don't like other big stamps except these, you can only restamp something so many times before you go crazy. It is so sad about Scrapbook Memories, the ladies were so helpful. The copic markers were the first thing to go, I wish I could've got there sooner. Oh well, I spent more than my budget anyway. Can't wait for the next Moo event. Have a great day everyone. TLQ
Hey JMR, there you go - Sheri has the rocker that you need to test before you buy! I'm happy there's a snow day tomorrow but even more happy that I'm already home from work in my warm house with everything to cook a pot of chili while I'm in my stampin room playing all day tomorrow!
I designed my card for Carrie's Shoebox next weekend but haven't assembled them into packages yet nor worked on my Secret Sister basket yet. It's a good thing, though - now I have something to do tomorrow AND I shouldn't forget what I put in the basket because it's only a week or so away!
Measured the snow on the deck railing yesterday and it was only 3.5". Went out to shovel and found the driveway was 8". Luckily the guy across the street came over and plowed after I had about 1/4th of the 80' driveway done.
Hope everyone survived and was able to do some crafting.

We had 18.7" officially in Madison over the last 3 days, downtown looks absolutely awsome. The city did a WONDERFUL job, and all buses were on time for my AM and PM commute
Went to Scrapbook Memories in Madison on Saturday. It was hard and bitter sweet~Great deals but I just wanted to cry. Got some punches, Spelbinders and Cover a Card stampes. The rocker totally rules! Turns out the store over in Coloma is closing now too. I hope Stamper's Paradise doesn't turn into a deserted island. Snuggle up and try to stay warm:p

Hey CURDS, I'm checking in - I've been working in my stampin' room all day, getting kits ready for my aunt in Las Vegas (I volunteered to make 2 card kits for 30 people in her senior condo neighborhood every month). Now I'm finishing the assembly work for my Shoebox for next Saturday. Is anyone else is going to Carrie's Shoebox in South Milwaukee next week?
Mel: Good to hear that you made a trip to Madison.
Diane: I'll be at Carrie's on the 12th. I even stepped up to be an Angel and fill one of the cancelled spots, so I've got 2 card spots. Looking forward to seeing everyone who shows up.
Lady-Di: Was sorry to hear that you had to cancel. Will miss you.
Take care and for those who watch the Super Bowl, enjoy.

I'm going Will be nice to meet you! I'm Laura, but my friends (Especially on SCS) call me LJ.
Barb and Terry from SCS are going as well. And I think Jeanette (ForestRanger) is driving up from IL. Should be a fun time!

We had a blast! Back home tonight from an awesome day at the Shoebox Swap.
We had fun, made some wonderful cards and got some great gifts and door prizes. Carrie Ann's (the organizer) Daugher, Hannah was so cute as Cupid delivering treats and stamping gifts in the afternoon. Everyone got a SU door prize too. Many participated in the Secret Sister Swap and got an awesome basket in return. And, there were many who won one of the raffle prizes--sadly this year I did not.
