Thanks everyone for the prayers and thought s for my Mom. They all helped. After spending week going through test after test, she was released Friday afternoon. They found out on Friday that the bacteria was e-coli, but that we caught it early. She is on antibotics twice a day for 10 days. We were both so worn out that we went to bed early last night and are just resting today. I even had to take a nap, something I haven't had to do a very long time. I'm now catching up on the computer and then will do a little stamping.
Thanks again everyone.

Good Morning and Happy Easter Wisconsin Ladies—I thought I would post something about CHA—Craft and Hobby Association—show in Chicago in July. Some of you might be interested in going and I know some of us have talked about it and are starting to make plans.
First—here is the site with information— http://www.craftandhobby.org/
The "trade show" is Tues-Thurs, July 27-29--that is dealer/company access only, public can't get in. The public "show" which is what we would want is basically a super huge scrapbooking/stamping/crafting expo is Friday/Saturday, July 30/31. I have heard the cost is about $20 for both days. They also have offered classes in the past, but no specific deals are on the website yet.
I would love to get together with other SCS at CHA if others are going down—supper one night, morning meet up, beverages one night, etc.
I am planning to make a mini-vacation out of it, staying three nights. I am heading down Thursday morning with Laura Jean, a SCS from Madison. We plan to stop at Ikea and Woodfield Mall. The hotel we are at, Aloft--is at pretty good price--$99 for Thursday and then $49 for Friday. It is then $99 again on Saturday. The hotel is connected or right by the convention center, so we can park at the hotel and then walk. No parking fees--I know there are some cheaper hotels in the area, but I am not sure what parking costs at the CC.
Here is a link to the special for the hotel-one night regular (TH), next night 50% off-$49-- http://www.starwoodpromos.com/aloftbettertomorrows/
This is the best if anyone is coming in on Thursday for two nights. They also have a AAA rate of $79.20 if anyone has that card and that would apply to all days. What I did was make a reservation for two nights with the special and a second reservation with the AAA rate. Looks like a great hotel--very, very modern!
So, anyone else planning to go? I know that Laura Jean went to CHA in Anaheim in January and said it was great. I have not attended, but am so looking forward to it. I would like to check out some of the classes when that schedule is set.
Please post if you are planning to go and what days you are going to be there. We can then try to set up a time and place to meet for a "Curd" get-together!
Have a wonderful Easter and if you are on break this week--ENJOY!
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! Glad to hear your mom is home and feeling better Robin. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the YEAR OF CARDS or FRIENDSHIP SWAP. Was wondering if anybody knows where Jeaniebean55 is. Haven't heard any comments from her in a while. Miss her and her happy thoughts.. Diane D.
Jean is fine--I sent her a PM and got a reply back. She has lots on her plate right now, but is on SCS periodically.

Mornin All,
I've missed you all and my SCS fix, but life is going to be nutty for a while longer in this neck of the woods.
Shortly I'm off to tend to the yard (can you believe we're mowing lawns already?! I'll be really happy when I can look out over a lovely landscape that I don't have to personally tend to.)
We have an open house on Sunday!!! Please send prayers, positive thoughts or energy. This transitional time is a real nail-biter! I think I'm getting close to the first knuckles ... and the house has only been on the market about three weeks. LOL!
OK, the sun is properly up, coffee has been had ... off I go.
Be well, happy stamping!

Checking in. Mom is getting back to normal...just more vocal than before.
I've decided that I won't be able to go to the SU Convention this year so I might be able to do the CHA event. Have to check out the details, etc. It won't be as expensive as SU Convention and I have the days off for vacation so I have to find something else to do.
Attended the SU Regional in Milwaukee yesterday and had a great time. Looking forward to the year of cards next Sat and Friendship the Sat after. Have to finish my projects.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Hello everyone!
I finallly found the date for the June Stamping Expo here in Wausau for those of you interested.
It is JUNE 26th!
This year it is going to be held at Cedar Creek Center right off the highway.
I will post again when tickets go on sale if anyone would them. Also the first couple hundred sold gets a nice goodie bag so i always buy my ticket right away and also its cheaper than a the door.
Was so nice to see so many friends at the Year of Cards yesterday. Looking forward to the Friendship Swap tomorrow and all the other great events coming up. I so need these 'fixes'.

OK, ladies, spill! How was the Year of Cards? It sounds like my perfect kind of stamp gathering and I was so sad to be passing it up. (And I'm so impressed with the people who organize and put this all together for everyone!)
How is everyone? What was your fav part of the event? Any particular technique, layout, card in general that especially caught your fancy?

Oh Jeanie, you'd have loved it - we didn't have to prepare anything ahead of time and it was all WELL organized, we each had a packet of supplies for the 12 cards and they were individually numbered so there was no mistaking what supply to use for what card. One even had some sewing of ribbon - I don't like to sew but was so proud to have it come out as beautiful as the sample! There were a few techniques that I hadn't done before so I not only had fun but learned some new things, too. The door prizes were unbelievable and everyone received a Country Living Craft Kit, too. It was a WONDERFUL event, I hope you can make it to next year's!
I agree--it was so nice to come home with 12 cards and someone else did all of the designing, cutting the pieces and all we did was assemble it! There were some great techniques, though my sewing was not as good as Diane's as mine did look like the sample. And, Diane was a winner of one of the raffle prizes--there were about 25 great ones. We also all had the chance to win two door prizes--a Big Shot and My Digital Studio. And, yes, the gift package we each got was valued at around $75.
Jean--if you want to attend next year, be sure to let one of us know as this event is not advertised on SCS as it costs more to attend than the "allowable event fee" to be posted in the get together forum. (I am not sure what I wrote makes sense, but I guess in order to list an event on SCS, the event can not charge more than $25 and since Rachel does everything to prepare for this one, she charges $40) It does max out at 40 people, so one of us can pass your name and email to Rachel if you want to be notified.
Barb - you are so on top of things - I'm sorry we didn't get to visit more on Saturday. I loved the cards that I saw from you swap. Mel had a lot of good things to say about your swaps so I'm going to sign up for some soon!
that would be so great! The women swap is doing very well and the summer one has some great cards. Come on over--love to have you join us.
Are you going to the stamp show in Milwaukee--it is May 22-23 at the Wyndham by the airport. I ran into Tamara and Tiffany at the one last year in Waukesha.

Jeanie it was great. I believe it worked out better than last year and a lot of fun. It would have been great to see you there and I know you would have loved it too. Maybe next year!!! Great prizes and yummy food! Take Care Kiddo, Diane D
The Year of Cards event sounds like my perfect dream of a stamp event ... bring your smile, scissors and adhesive; come away with 12 great cards and a day of good company and good fun. Maybe next year ... hopefully I'll be settled into a new place and ready to stamp the day away again.
Paulette ... hello to you and Sandy!

What a WONDERFUL day of stamping at the Friendship Shoebox! I can't believe some of the great ideas for the "Anything But" swap that we did. Tiffany, Tamara and I are going to make it to the scrap and stamp show but we didn't pick which date. We'll talk more, it'd be great to get together a group for lunch or dinner on Saturday or Sunday.
Hey, ladies - I think I found where we can get the wine containers from that you all saw at Friendship. If we order at least 5 of them, it's free shipping. The lady at Polka Dots in Mukwonago told me they had been discontinued by the manufacturer but online it doesn't say anything about them not being available. I'm going to give it a try - let me know if you want any --- the cost is $8 each. I can bring them to the Jackson and/or Hartford Shoeboxes (IF they do arrive).
Hi!!
I would like one also. My mother in law LOVED it, so that will be the perfect gift for her. We've been working on the building! The dry wall is up, boy that mud takes forever to dry. Color pallet is picked and I have tons of stuff already boxed up ready to move in!!!!
Morning everyone, I'm trying to network contacts and enthusiastic crafters. I love all things crafty and am looking to persue my teaching career and contacts in central WI.
Welcome, Marilyn - if you are looking for enthusiastic crafters, the CURDS is where you'll find 'em! I hope we'll be seeing you at the Jackson and Hartford Shoeboxes!

I am picking up Laura Jean from Madison as she is coming in by bus and we hope to meet Terry0926 from Caledonia TO go out to dinner after the show. We do not have any set plans yet, so we'd love to get together with more SCS from Wis. Post here or PM me if anyone has any ideas on where to eat--I am shooting for the late lunch, early dinner--like 3:00-4:00.
About 1/2 block down the street from the hotel is a great restaurant called The Final Approach---great appetizers, sandwiches, dinners and yummy desserts. I'm going but don't think I can meet for lunch/dinner. Hope to see you there.
I'm from the Fond du Lac area of WI!!! I decided to wander from the swap forums, and look what I found! I group of WI gals! WAHOO!!
I'm a stamper/scraper/crafter/ar-tist'!
I've been looking for some active stampers in this area for a while, just never really thought about looking on here! Maybe because I've already met some marvelous girls from WI, but in actuality, WI is a BIG ol state!!!
I see Barb is on here, and I just met here on my RMD thread! HI Barb!!!
Hello to everyone else! I'm hoping to be able to join in some of the fun one of these days!

Hi Jane and Welcome! I just got home from Fond du Lac about an hour ago. My parents live there and I stopped at the Scrapbook Cottage today and got my first Copic markers --- wow, those are great to work with! I hope we'll see you in Jackson in June or Hartford in August (or anywhere, anytime in between)!
