Born and raised here. Now live in a very small town in east Texas, Fairfield. My dh works at a strip mine for a power plant, not very popular right now with electricity bills going up;)
I live in the DFW area, in The Colony. I would love to get together with other SCSers. Is anything in the works around here? I saw that I missed a get together last week in Lewisville (about 10 minutes from me). :( Hope to meet some of you sometime.
Sharon, my dd rfain is in Fort Worth & wants to meet other SCSers also. I will tell her you are looking to meet people like she is. Maybe the two of you can get togther.

Hi ALL! I married a true blue texan. He bleeds Blue Bell Home Made Vanilla Icecream! That is NOT A JOKE! I was born and raised in Maryland. My mom raised me as a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and always gave me a hard time about the guys I dated....she thought they only pretended to like the Cowboys. When I told her in 1993 that I met a man from Irving, Texas....she wanted to know if he was a true fan. Yes...mom....he is a true Dallas Cowboys fan! Of course I was given her blessing within 3 hours of her meeting him. Moms always know!
We have lived all over the world and had no plans to end our career in Texas. My hubby is in the Air Force and there are very little duty stations for us to end up. When he called me August 1st to tell me that we were moving...I assumed ALASKA! NOPE! We are now in San Angelo, Texas.
I was hard to adjust at first...but, I love it! Only 3 more years till retirement and I am already thinking of ways to stay.
HMMMMMM...do you see a trend here??? Dogs name is Dallas. Sons name is Tyler and the Boats name is Blue Bell. I guess it was meant to be.

I have a very good friend who had 3 dogs named, Emmitt, Cowboy, and (my all time favorite doggie name) Coach Tom Landry.
My children are named Bryan and Bethany (another little tiny town in Texas).
Bryan was going to be Bryan Kyle, but Bethany wanted to name him Michael Jordan, so we compromised on Bryan Michael.
I'm not from Texas but got here as soon as I could....isn't that how the saying goes? I was born and raised is IOWA and moved here in 2001. My DH and I love it!! The weather is great, the people are sooooo friendly and Houston has everything to offer that you could possibly imagine!
Born in Houston, raised in and around Bryan/College Station (Gig 'Em Y'all) except for about 9 years when I lived in Vegas. Was so homesick I named my second child Bryan! I joke that to have a little girl, we had to move back to Texas, because the most beautiful women are from Texas! ;) I've been in San Antonio for about a year and a half now, my husband is in the Air Force and stationed here. Two years and a few months til he gets out, and just praying that we don't get stationed anywhere else before then!
I was born in Dallas. I lived in Arlington for 47 years - my kids and sister still do. We moved to Clarksville, TX in 2003. It's in far northeast Texas - Red River County.

Waving a dusty, wind blown HOWDY from West Texas!!!! (winds around 50 mph all day and lots of dirt in the air - I think that New Mexico is trying to move east today!) Got to get a plug in for my team - Go Red Raiders!!!
Hi Yall! I was born in Houston, lived in Dallas, Corpus Christi and now in Tyler. East Texas is my home and Texas is the home of my ancestors since 1820's. It's in the blood!
Hello, I was born in McAllen and raised in LaPorte (houston suburb). Lived in Friendswood, Houston, Missouri City, & when I got married I moved to Sugarland. We now live in the Katy area. So I have lived all around the Houston area
Hi, Leticia! We live in Sugar Land and travel to Katy regularly. Glad to see someone else in this neck of the woods!
Welcome!
