I think so too... even just an overnight with the evening before and the full next day or such, like a Friday afternoon - Sunday morning checkout thing.
Still haven't hearad back from Angela's, so that may not be the place for our next meeting!
I did hear back on the retreat center though...
Below is what she sent me. Anyone interested and any suggestions as to when? I was thinking maybe a mid or late September weekend would be good, arriving Friday, then check out Sunday morning so 2 nights total. We can cook ourselves and maybe split it out, or we could pay for them to do a meal or two or so...
We would definitely have to have at least 6 commit to it for certain if we do it.
Susan, This would be so much fun! Sept. 9-11 is also my first choice. It would be nice to have them do dinner for us, perhaps on Saturday night as a treat. We could "pot luck" the rest of the meals. I would be happy to help prepare dinner for Friday night - something simple since everyone would probably be arriving at different times. Let's hear what others have in mind.

YIKES! I just realized I can't do that weekend... I have to attend a wedding! Oh my, I have far too many things going on in the brain of late.
What about the end of October, Oc 28-30? Is that too late for everyone? Or the Labor Day weekend? Sept 2-4? The earlier one would be warmer of course! I could figure out the first weekend in October also, which would be the Sep. 30-Oct. 2 dates.
That sounds like a pretty good deal! You girls pick the dates and hopefully I'll be free then :-) I know I couldn't so Halloween weekend, but don't plan around me because I'm the farthest away.

Hi Everyone -- Just checking in with you all to see if we have any news on a location for March. I am also waiting to see if we hear from a few more folks to determine if we think we want to book for a retreat... since it would require at least 6 of us to commit by paying too.
As for March, I won't be able to make it. That is the weekend before my retirement ceremony, and I am going to pick up my kids. Flights are just too expensive this year.
I am looking forward to hosting at myplace...chris

Hi Chris -- thanks for the heads up. As we still haven't heard on a location, it may be delayed til April when we can book one for certain and hopefully avoid any weather issues this time!!!
I will be offline a lot over the next week as I'm going to go see my son, daughter and grandson in Colorado! Please keep the list bumped for me and if we get any new swappers, let them know I'll update as soon as I am back!
Well, I don't think we have a location yet for the March 26th date so this isn't looking likely to happen this month ---
Let me see what I can find out this week about Angela's too for a date!
Susan, We had such a good time at the first gathering. I hope we can get together again before our fall weekend. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
Ellen
May those who love us love us,
and those who do not love us,
may God turn their hearts,
and if He cannot turn their hearts
may He turn their ankles
that we may know them by their limping.

I just left another message for Angela at Angela's Happy Stamper to see if we could have Saturday April 16th or another date to hold it there again.
Will that date work for all of you?
Hi Everyone --
Just checking also on who has the interest for certain on a weekend retreat.
We are looking at this location: Blue Mountain Retreat Center, Maryland - Rates
Possibly in September or October or mid-November -- I am looking for the available dates now from the center.
It would be arriving on a Friday afternoon/evening (we could target to start say 4 or 5pm?), all day Saturday, and then leave Sunday morning (i.e. departing by noon). Continental Breakfast is included, but the lunch and dinner on Saturday would come to $40 total I believe, I have to confirm. They are organic meals from the owner's farm.
There are a total of 8 rooms there, and it sleeps up to 21 I think, but of course that means sharing rooms.
I was thinking we could potluck for Friday evening, and for snacks and drinks. And depending on how many sign up, maybe we can make it where each attendee teaches one craft item and brings supplies for that for everyone?
It would be approx. $150 per person for a shared room for 2 nights, breakfast on Sat & Sun, and lunch and dinner on Sat. We must have a minimum of 6 people to confirm, and must pay in advance so we can reserve also.
Who is interested??? I'm waiting to hear from her on avail. dates still.
Oh, and you can book a private massage on site for $70/hr in case anyone is interested too.
I heard back from the Retreat Center and they do have that Labor Day weekend available, September 2-4, 2011.
Cost: $141 per person, which includes Friday and Saturday night lodging, a continental breakfast on Sat. & Sun. mornings, and an organic lunch and dinner prepared for us on Saturday (includes water as the beverage). There are 8 rooms with a total of 20 beds, and there are two fold out beds too I think but I'd like to cut off before we have to use those, and 3.5 baths that are shared also. She has 5 large folding tables we can pull out to use in addition to the dining tables there in the building.
We can each bring a snack to share and drinks or such and that way we'll have those for snacking on all weekend too. And if we each bring a craft project to share/teach, we'll have lots to keep us going all weekend in addition to our own projects to work on, I'm sure. I was also thinking we could have a "yard sale" table for anyone wanting to bring some items they want to sell/trade there (keeping within reason of course!).
We would start on Friday afternoon/evening, potluck for that dinner/gathering; have all day Saturday to craft and get to know each other, and then Sunday morning depart by noon or so.
We must have a minimum of 6 people to confirm and pay for the weekend. Because of that, I'd say we make it nonrefundable also, with half the amount due to reserve your spot, and the balance would be due by June 30th. No refunds/cancellations but you can find someone to take your spot if you need to arrange that for whatever reason.
In order to book this though, we'll need to have it confirmed and the initial deposits for at least 6 of us within the next two weeks.
Anyone interested? She is tentatively holding the date for us now, but we could lose it if for any reason someone else wants it and pays for it before we confirm and pay for the deposit.
FYI, We can arrive any time after noon on Friday, and then check out by noon on Sunday, so for those who want to do something on Friday, we can do that as well!
Hi Karen --
I will get everyone who is interested information on how to send in the confirmation money. I was checking with the center how we would do it, and I think I will end up acting as the collection point and get her my credit card to reserve it that way.
ALL: I will lock in how we decide to do it by Saturday and let you all know how to pay for the retreat.
I'm already getting excited about that weekend retreat. It will be a fun time!!!
Donna (Hockyfan) and I are thinking about it. Would you please list us a tentative? Donna is checking her work schedule. We'll le tyou know for sure in a few days.
Hi Debbie -- Do you mean for the retreat or for an April meeting?
I will put you on the retreat list as tentative as I suspect that since we've been talking about that mostly.
I still haven't heard anything back from Angela at Happy Stamper for an April meeting. :(
