Hey ladies!! I am planning a get together here in Nashville for anyone in Tennessee or surrounding states (or if you just want to come to Tennessee, you can!!). I am looking at dates in August! I am thinking that we can have an all day event with a shoebox swap, lunch, stamping, shopping..just whatever. Post here and let me know if you would be interested and if you have ideas about anything. I will start looking around at hotels in the area and things like that!! Come on ladies!!!

I hope lots of folks can come...I am thinking about maybe August 12th because the weekend of the 25th is Regional in Chicago and I know (unless they announce sites closer to us) many of us will want to go to that...or do you guys think September would be better?

I am interested in this as well. Not sure if I will be able to work it out but I am certainly interested and would do my best. I think any weekend you pick will be good for some, not good for others. Just go with whatever you feel is best.

I'm new to Tennessee and I would love to meet some of you ladies!! Aug. 12th would be great! Count me in! I would like to help out in setting this up in any way that I can. I live in Brentwood and would be willing to carpool with anybody out this way!!

Softangelkisses....yeah, I think Nashville would be the ideal location because we have potentially coming from KY, East TN, Memphis, AL....I just think that a good size city that is accessible to lots of people would be good.
Ok, I will start calling some hotels today. I am *hoping* to get Opryland hotel simply because it is a beautiful hotel and shopping is RIGHT next door. I will also check some of the other *get together* threads and see what they did/do.

I will try to make it as well. I will have my 6 month old with me though since I am nursing. I hope that's ok. If not I will definitely make the next one.
*edit* actually, maybe I will try and leave Lea at home, hopefully she will do ok.

Denise, same as Wanda, if I can come we will definitely car pool. It would be crazy not to. I love it, Murvil. When I first moved here from NY, I couldn't understand why people were pronouncing it that. It cracked me up everytime I heard it. :-D

I,personally, don't mind kiddies coming along. Sometimes it can't be helped and I would hate for someone who wants to come to not come simply because they have kids.

Maybe we can bring Lea and Bryson since they are only 6 months old and aren't moblie. We can leave the crazy, insane, make you want to drink 3 year old at home!!!
I would like to come if nothing comes up that weekend. I am not in TN, but I live in Hopkinsville, KY (not that far away). I have never been to anything like this so someone will have to tell me what I need to do or bring.

Woohoo. I am all for leaving the three year olds, and it would be easier on Lea if I brought her, but I am thinking she would do fine with her Daddy. Totally your call though, if you bring Bryson, I will bring Lea.
Do we have rough idea on cost? Unfortunatley that would be a factor for me.

Totally understand the money thing!!! Maybe we could cram alot of people in one room. Who needs sleep right? No, seriously...maybe we could do four to a room?
Yeah, money is a factor! So do we want this to be a sleepover type thing or just an all day thing? If we do a sleepover, that's fine with me...and we might be able to get a better deal if people are staying there. If its a day thing where we come in the morning and leave late afternoon or whenever that's fine,too....I don't want to make it too complicated, though. My initial thought was to make it a day thing with lunch and snacks...swaps...stamping..things like that.

Well, I was thinking a day thing as well, only because I know that I can't afford to spend the night. I know it's a long day with driving both ways on the same day (2.5-3 hours from Knoxville), but that's what I will have to do.

I want to come and so does my friend here on SCS Ashley (StampinAsh). We both live in Knoxville. We would probably be more apt to do a day thing and not an overnight. But either way.

I actually live in the Opryland area - I wish I had room to put some of you longdistancers up but that's not possible right now.
I am thinking either the Opryland area or the Cool Springs area just because they both have great shopping, scrapbooking stores are wihin a reasonable distance, great restaurants, and good access to the interstates.

I will more than likely be able to make this trip. I'll need 2 nights as I'm driving from the Florida Panhandle (as long as we don't have a hurricane - then I'll need to evacuate - hmmm think hubby will understand an evac to TN for stamping?? LOL). Anyway, when you inquire about rooms, can you find out what the price for 2 nights will be, if they will cut a deal? Thanks!
Money is somewhat of a factor, so I don't know about the Opryland Hotel. I think it may be a bit out of my budget. I could always find something else locally, though and just meet up with all of you during the day.

ETA (since I didn't go back and read the newer posts): If you decide on just a day thing and rent a gym/hall, etc., I'll find my way to a hotel in the area, no worries - don't go to any extra trouble.

Brownee - you might try the Radisson - it's owned by the Gaylord Opryland and I'm pretty sure there is a free shuttle back and forth from the "BIG HOTEL" and Opry Mills to the Radisson. Might be a better rate there too.

cool! We already have 16 interested! I have never done a get together like this so I am excited. I also Have a baby. He will be 4 1/2 months in Aug. I am briging him along since I am nursing . I may bring a sitter with me if we do Opry Land. She can push him around all day long...lol.
