Hey Jan- Here's a thought R-O-A-D-T-R-I-P !!! We still have an open spot!!

For this event,
Trish Brunkhart will be showin off a new idea using a Simply Scrappin Kit and a Make-n-Take featuring a new Doodle stamp. If you want to play, bring a SSK along and shell show you how!
Would the only thing we need to bring is a Simply Scrappin Kit or would there be other needs we need to go with it?
If you want to bring a camera..you can take lots of photo of this book. I will post photos on splitcoast after this weekend..till then it's a surprise.
I won't be teaching it...as I want to STAMP....I've had a long week with teaching at Creative Stamper, working at the store and of course getting some swaps ready for this weekend. I can't wait.
Well as promised here is what you need to bring.
One scrappin kit..I used Friends and Flowers from our Hostess Line (you can make two books out of one kit.) (Let me know in private email if you need one..I have some extras at home we can work a swap)
12x12Carribean Cool
12x12 Cranberry Crisp
6 envelopes (regular card size)
Assorted Ribbon ( I used mustard and cranberry, turquoise, celery, chocolate, cranberry crisp and a few others.)
I roller wheeled the plain cardstocked used with rough texture, scattered sunshine and Hot to dot.
I used inks, cranberry crisp, chocolate chip, carribean cool, so saffron.
One large clear button (and shape)
I personalized this for myself so I did use some of my favorite retired friendship sayings...but the book can be done with all current. I suggest
I used classic label, reason to smile, curvy verses, simply said, be happy, lexicon of love. blooming with happieness, simple sayings.
Tools needed beside cutter, scissors is just a large hole punch. The envelopes make a book and ribbon has to fit into the holes to bind it.
Okay I'm bringing instructions...you twisted my arm.
Looking forward to Friday nite.
Trish

Can you say WHOOHOOOOOOO!!!!! Just scheduled the BEGINNING OF MY GREAT WEEKEND!!
So my friend Marj and I are heading to Cincy at 7am on Friday (it's a 2 hour drive for us) because we're getting mani/pedi's in the morning and I'm getting a fancy-schmancy haircut!!!
I am so excited I can hardly stand it!!! What I am wondering because I've never actually done the shoebox swap before is do we need to separate the pieces for the card into individual baggies for the 30??? Or do we just stack them up at our station like I would at a camp??? thanks for your input...since I want to make sure EVERYTHING is perfect!!!

Can't wait to meet you all there!!
Me and my sisters did put them all in individual baggies but that's just because we thought it might make it easier. I've never been to a swap before so I don't know how they are traditionally done!
I just saw that someone is bringing their Cuttlebug embossing folders to share -- great idea! That got me thinking -- does anyone have the elusive mega/giga scallop punches? I'd love to punch some of those! Every time I see that they are in stock somewhere, they are out-of-stock by the time I get there.
I have lots of the large sizzix die cuts (frames, tags, etc). I could bring some of those if anyone is interested. They also require a 1/4 sheet of cardstock.
Looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow!
Debbie
Me and my two sisters (Lexismoo and Sassymarie) are staying Friday night as well! I'm getting ready to put my 2 y/o to bed so I can go pack all my goodies, finish my card directions and make my 3-D item... nothing like waiting till the last minute!

Yeah! Stampin time is almost here!!!
Hmmm...I guess that means that I should pack, find something to work on Friday night and finish making my cards for the swap (2 more to go!)...
I guess waiting til the last minute runs in the family... :-D
Hey guys! I have never done a shoebox swap. I was assuming that I just include a sample of the card if it is pretty self-explanatory or does everyone bring directions also. Do you include anything with the cards (and premade cards) that identifies who made them?
You girls have fun!!! I wish I could be there but I have to work tomorrow and The Kentucky Derby is next Saturday. I'm expecting 8 guests for that weekend so I better get cleaning & cooking too. Post some pictures of the weekend! Y'all have fun now!

Sorry, I guess you have to be a newbie sometime.
Shelley
Yep... Just have a sample of the card so we can copy it. It there is a technique involved or a "best way" to do it, include those directions, but otherwise, we should be able to figure it out.
No, you don't need to include who made it on the premade cards, but you can if you want. I personally would love to know who did it, but my printer broke so I won't be including a label on mine.
Hope this helps!

Wow! What a weekend! Thanks, gals, for making this a great event!

I want to thank you and Denise for a fabulous weekend! Even though I was only able to participate on Saturday, I had a great time. My friend Holly did too. This was her first ever swap and I think she did great! The two of you did an outstanding job organizing everything and keeping everyone informed - I really appreciate that. I'm looking forward to next year!
