Southern Oregon Splitcoaststampers Unite!

Welcome
to our lil neck of the woods
in Southern Oregon!


Although there are a few Shoebox get togethers planned .. most are near or close to Portland leaving
us Southern Stampers a lil bit of a travel time.


So as to not feel left out, I thought I would put something together down here for all of us!


I am in Roseburg, South of Eugene and would do something in the area here ..
so gals in, let's say from Salem and South to Medford ... and surrounding areas,
can come Crop and Stamp with us!


Right now I am looking at the end of February for a date.
I am going to keep the cost minimal, nothing more
than $25'ish do I forsee! Expensive crops, unless for charity, seem unnecessary to me!

DH's parents have lived there all their lives. His dad drove log truck. My DH went to school at South Umpqua HS.

Im trying to remember how long it takes to drive to roseburg from kfalls... (know Eugene is 3 1/2 hours over 58 but, in feb that road could be closed for snow...)

so, Im iffy ok? but will subscribe to this thread.

Who is Ali Edwards? I used to live in CG, I still own my house there -I rent it out. My mom lives in the Burg, but I never get down that far. I just told Stacy (JBgreendawn). She lives in Kfalls.

Ugh! There is no good way to get to the Burg from where you are. Prolly the 97 to the 138. I am guessing about 3 hours??

My DH's aunt come from KFalls all the time to MC and it is about 3 to 3.5 hours.

Oooh oh yeah South Umpqua .. wow that has changed down there (in a good way) .. when's the last time he's been back?!

They right now have a EXCELLENT cheerleading program .. well for about 7-8 yrs now .. even better than RHS here .. and most Portland schools .. and we're talking medals .. big time awards and do stuff that is so awesome .. just weird it is coming a small small school like that! I mean that program is rigid and strict .. I love watching them at competitions!

Oh pooh that's right .. everyone down that way is practically snowed in for a few months lol ..

What about March 14th or April 18th or May 16th .. I didn't want to wait that long .. but if there's snow involved we might just have to ..

March 14th is the weekend before Spring Break .. and April might have to change, will know around Christmas time and May should be fine ..

What do you snow birds think?! lol ..

Well I made it in 2 hrs going out through Diamond Lake Blvd .. not sure the Hwy .. but then there wasn't snow it was HOT hot summer lol ..

She is revered as a big Celebrity in the scrapbook world!

She is a big wig with Creating Keepsakes (who 'found' her and she pushes their stuff) and is traveling and doing shows and classes all over the place with Becky Higgins and a slew of other celebrity ladies from scrapbooking and she's from our very own neck of the woods ..

She's cool, witty, down to earth and sooooooo very kind and nice .. everyone loves her to pieces!

{HER BLOG HERE} is such a fun place to read and even get inspired about life and other things as well .. I just love her!

Even driving the speed limit it's never taken me that long .. at most, most 3 hrs .. but I am thinking it was 2-2.5 ..

I am most "comfortable" taking 140 to medford then up I-5 i will work on timing it next time...
I have never been to something like this so i will probably ask lots of dumb questions too...

I'm pretty sure the auntie amy's co does that stamp convention in portland some time in March usually so, we may want to find out when that is for sure if you did move to March what weekend that is? (just a thought) Haven't went to that yet, but am considering it.

It's a really fun get together .. hopefully we will meet new friends and make this a regular crop and mingle! I'd LOVE that!

Hello, this looks like an awesome opportunity!!! I currently live in Alaska and will be relocating at the end of the year to the Roseburg area. My husband is relieved to learn that there are stampers that I can meet once we get there. I hope to be settled in by then and ready to get inky.

Hey email me and I'll help anyway I can if ya need anything! I'm a native of Oregon here .. sadly .. we don't have a LSS tho .. just demos .. and one small online store .. but you can pick up items from her home ..

There's one in Sutherlin .. but kinda spendy .. but have some cute ideas .. and THAT is about the round up of scrapbooking stores here lol ..

I know a *SUPER* nice lady that sells Stamping Up! She's the smartest lady I know! Talented beyond belief! She holds a 2nd Saturday crop every month and stamps and do whatever you want to do in the 12 hr crop .. that's free ..

What business is hubbs doing that brings you to this old fart retirement community?! lol .. errr I mean this lovely town?!

I must just be remembering her time to Myrtle creek then......three hours would be about right since the house is about 30 minutes from Roseburg.

DH's dad worked for Irelands for about 30 years.

Sounds like we are coming down to MC this coming weekend to spend time with parents.

Thanks for all the info Queenie' I really-really appreciate it. Having stores like Jo-Ann's & Michael's is a big step up for us. Not to mention, everything else. DH is very talented in the IT realm but we aren't sure where God is going to lead him right now.

I've never really spent much quality time in Oregon so moving down is going to be an adventure.
