Oklahoma Shoebox swap Get Together Jan 31,2009 FULL
It's a shoebox swap get together. Yes for us stampers right here in Oklahoma.
Date Jan 31st Sat 1-6
In the event of icy or bad weather will be moved to Feb 7
Place: Tamidolphins home. I have space for at least 8. If more people want to come I will try and make room.
My home is in Broken Arrow. I hope that some of the OKC area gals will want to come and play.
What is a shoebox swap you ask. Basically you will bring an item.. card, atc, pin anything you would make stamping. Then you bring all of the supplies paper, stamps etc. for each of the participants to make that item. Items shouldn't be too difficult. I would say not over 30 minutes to make.
It will be potluck snacks so bring a snack to share. I'll have cups, plates etc.
Hope to see alot of girls soon.
Tami

I know there is one coming in from Ponca City although I don't know how close that is to you. Lets rally up some OKC gals. Maybe we could do this a few times a year and rotate between OKC and Tulsa.
OK ladies hoping more will join. I am busy trying to figure out what my project will be. I would ask that everyone bring there basic stamping kit scissors, tape, etc. with them. I have been trying to contact Jamie Stampbug72 has anyone heard from her?
Glad Deborah from Ponca City is joining us and Linda from Dewey! And of course, Lisa! I have an idea of what I want to do, just have to find the stamp now!
I am thrilled at the chance to meet some Oklahoma stampers. No one that I know in the Dewey, Bartlesville area stamps. I know several ladies that use to come to SU parties when they were invited, but seems the demo's all quit so haven't got to get together with anyone for over a year. Can't wait to meet all of you.nnnI can't decide what to make. I have only been to one shoe box swap and it was so much fun.

There are no stamp stores in Tulsa. HL and Michaels have a few as well as scraphappy's. I have heard the scrapbook store in Collinsville has alot of stamps and a stamp night.
Thanks for inviting me to this thread. I have a couple of questions. Can the projects be anything; cards, gifts, 3-D items or are cards prefered? Also can they be "contraband" non SU, all SU current or retired or All SU only current? IS there anything in particular that they group would like to see or make or a theme for the swap? I know, I'm a complusive planner. Thanks for any information. BTW, I live in BA also.
OMG! This would be fun to meet other stampers. I just don't know where your place is...I am in Norman. Do you still have room?

Yes, please add me to the list. As soon as you are full, will you let us know the number of ladies coming so that we have enough of everything made up.
Thank you for planning this and opening up your home to us!
I just found this.....it sounds like sooo much fun and I wish I could join in! I will be in Tulsa that day but am taking 3 grandsons to see *walking with the dinosaurs* (yikes what have I done!!)....
Please let me know when you do this again.... there are a few stampers here in Eufaula.......maybe we can have it here when the weather gets nice, we have a big *common* dock at the marina that we use for stamping ...it's set up with several tables, etc...
OK I have now marked this swap closed. We have eight ladies coming. YEAH all around Oklahoma. What a fun day this will be. Now a couple of things
First bring any type of stamping project card, mini book, pin whatever have fun
Your project should take no longer than 30 minutes for us to make. We have eight projects to do so we will be very happily busy.
Please bring your general stamping supplies black ink, scissors, paper trimmer etc.
Please bring snacks to share. I will have plates etc and drinks
Last but not least Carole or Lisa do you have a small fold up table and fold up chair we can use. My formal table has 6 chairs we could pull two chairs in but might be a bit crowded. I thought we might set up two small tables in the formal dining room. I have one fold up table and a chair just need one more if someone has one to bring. I actually looked at booking the library they have somthing going on that day and they only stay open until 5.
I will send out my address and cell phone to those that don't know where I am. This will be great fun and I am so glad that each of you have decided to join.
Ok there have been some ?'s. How much of your project should you have done for each player. I think I will leave that up to each individual. On mine I will cut all cs and cb all that needs to be done but will have the group stamp unless everyone wants to cb. Input is appreciated
Hey have any of you used the Core dination papers. I have fallen in love with them and have been using them in my CB. I have uploaded a photo of an ATC I just finished.
Just told hubby about our get together so that he could put it on his calender so he wouldn't plan anything else for me.
Anyone else's DH Say "Uhhh....WHAT DO YOU MEAN, YOUR GOING TO SOMEONE'S HOUSE YOU MET ON-LINE!"
My dh is pretty much used to it. We've taken a vacation the past 2 years to meet up with a group from here. We plan to make the trip again this summer.
