Happy World Card Making Day, everyone! I at least THOUGHT about my NVRs today and gathered DP, cardstock, and stamps. The number is growing so I might have to be very clever with cutting my six sheets of 12 x 12 DP to make my idea work...hmmmm...

MY trick ... Figure out how many square inches I have.. 12 x 12 x 6 = 864
864 divided by the swap count = how many square inches for each card.
If you have 6 sheets ... YOU HAVE PLENTY!!

Sailing out of Miami on Saturday, going to Grand Turk, La Romana, Curacao and Aruba. I get back the 19. I MIGHT join in the 3D swap, but it really does depend on how much I get done tomorrow.
Sadly for my stamping wallet things are slow at work but at least I stamped and started coloring my NVR images in between answering the phone and waiting on customers.
Lauri, what kind of cards do you need for donations? We've been working on troop cards from what people have donated to me and I have some cards that cannot be sent to the troops. I am giving some to a local nursing home but maybe I have some that are appropriate for your cause, too.
All swaps are now closed and final counts are listed at the top of each one. The swap numbers I have posted do not include one for yourself. Could somebody double check my counts and make sure they are numbered correctly, please?

I am going to post about donations tomorrow morning. It is going to be quite different then what we have done in the past as the cancer center has some, shall we say, bizarre quirks about donations.

All I can do is keep up and get my swaps done. My shoe box will be a Tim Holtz Halloween card I think - working on several fancy folds for classes at my home on October 15th and 18th. ( for regular classes and my home group). I can help out that Saturday if you like? Just let me know.

I have been struggling with getting this donation information posted as it's going to be way different then what we have done in the past, so here it goes. I have been talking to to Carolyn's daughter and it appears that they are very particular about donations which I find to be a bit odd. They do give their patients gift cards for stores, restaurants, gas, etc. and will take them in any amount, but prefer a minimum of $25. I told her that that was likely not a happening thing from folks at our small gathering. They do have a lady who makes fleece ponchos for the patients to wear during their chemo/radiation treatments and they are looking for fleece donations for these capes which I think will work out way better for a group such as ours. It takes 1 1/2 yards of fleece for one poncho, if you would like bring 1 1/2 yards of fleece to donate that would be great or if you'd just prefer to donate money, I will purchase a Joann gift card for the amount that we collect.
Regarding cards - my thought was that we could donate cards for the patients to have access to as they many not always have the time or feel up to shopping for cards. I even have a card rack that was donated by the Talbott's to give them as well. This ideas was not well received and they have stated that they don't think anybody would use them and therefore do not wish to have cards donated. I am currently looking into other options for us to donate cards to. I am looking for a not for profit that could benefit from our cards, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. I would like it to be a local cause that likely does not have access do card donations on a regular basis. I am going to be calling Gilda's club and possible a dialysis unit this week.
As always, we will have prize drawings for donations of fleece/money for Pulta and cards.

Please make note of the additions that have been added to the supply, especially the punches. Please bring any that you may have as it will make your waiting time at the project tables much shorter if you have your own to use vs. using mine and waiting behind a ton of other gals!

Lauri, maybe there is a nursing home that would like cards to give to their residents or for the residents to send to friends and family. Jennifer McQuire has a national call out for Christmas and Holiday cards that will be donated to residents of nursing homes in the USA and Canada.
