I realized I haven't posted in a few weeks. Getting excited for my first ever event of this type. All projects are completed, sorted and packed, gift swap wrapped, door prizes.Have I forgotten anything?
From some of the previews I've seen I'm a bit nervous that my projects are a bit simpler but I had great fun putting them all together.

See you all soon.
Your cards will be awesome I know it! I am so jealous that you have it all done...I still have nothing done, ideas are in my head but that's as far I have gotten. I plan to take a day off very soon and get it done! Hopefully (this) Thursday.

They are yours! So glad to reuse these sort of things!

So glad it's still 10 days away!! I'm so far behind :-( but will manage to get all done in time like I always do. I do have my 3x3's done so at least I have started!
A good friend and an amazing local karoke singer just lost her home and all of its contents in a horriffic house fire earlier this week. (Investigations are leaning towards arson due to some area teenager's starting the fire due to mischief and pranks.)
Sarah Alta is a new mom of a 6 month old little boy. She also has a couple beloved "fur babies". Needless to say, she is utterly devistated. I thought it would be nice to send her a card shower of encouragment, prayers, etc.
Given that her & the baby are staying in temporary housing right now, you are welcome to send the cards to my P.O. Box and I will hand deliver them to her.
OR you can give them to me at the event in Syracuse on May 18th!

In addition, local friends are trying to put together a benefit to help raise money to help Sarah out for things she needs for the baby, herself, her fur babies, and rebuilding a new home for the family. Given that I live on a limited budget, I prayed to God to help me find a way to help.
Then the idea came to me to make & donate cards for a fundraiser item! I would love to be able to donate a large basket of assorted handmade greeting cards to be raffled off to help raise money. But, I am only 1 person and can only make so many. So, I am humbly turning to my crafty friends & asking that if anyone here on SCS has any "extra cards" they would like to donate for this cause, I would be most appreciative. I'm thinking the more cards in the basket, the more money raised for Sarah and her family.
For the donated "extra cards" to help with the fundraiser, you can send them to me at my P.O. Box address:

I was working on my DQ swap and my cuttlebug "C" plate broke. Seriously, just when I was on a roll. Just my luck as always. Oh well, now I have an excuse to go to all 3 stores on 31

I'm working on my recipes. THEN ... I'm CLEANING OFF MY DESK. I can't stand it any longer. I'm working in a space that's 11 x 11. It's driving me CRAZY!!

Christi I will start a box
Give me an idea of things she might need the most
What type of fur babies-dog or cats?
Thank you so very much! Sarah's fur babies are DOGS. I received the following email earlier tonight regarding clothing sizes and some of the item idea's they need for their DOGS...
"Sarah is looking for size 7 pants or medium shirts for herself, 36/36 pants for Andrew or xxl shirts. Damon wears 6-9 month old clothes, size 2 shoe, size 3 diapers.
Again, she needs dog stuff, beds, food, treats, leads, leashes, toys, whatever. Christi, THANKS for doing this I know she appreciates it very much."
I will try to find out the exact breed's, sizes, gender's, and ages of her "fur babies" to help with this and will post as soon as I know.
Would anyone be interested in retired SU cardstock.....OLD COLORS! vintage violet, pomegranate, summer sun etc, if I were to bring them for garage sale?
Christi, I'll talk to DD about baby clothes David has outgrown.
I'm using my "down" time from not going to this gathering to clean up the downstairs since company is coming from AZ on Sunday. I can almost see the top of the kitchen table! Would you believe I have over 18 Snapware trays??? As I'm taking shoebox projects etc. out of the Snapware I'm stacking them up...an impressive stack (snort!)! During this clean up I sorted cards and sent my SIL a huge shoebox full of cards for her birthday. She says she now has enough for her lifetime! I certainly hope her lifetime is longer than her new stash but she is very happy with all the cards. I have lots of cards for my own use as well as a bunch for another SIL and the troops. Such a mess I make when I'm making swaps and shoeboxes! I still have a ton of stuff to sort in the living room but I thought I'd better get the table cleared off first. I need to make a graduation card for Kelsey for Saturday when we go up to see her at Oswego. I'm also washing all my Winter tops and some sweaters to get ready for Summer storage. There wasn't much Spring for wearing my in between clothes! Once the living room is picked up there is dusting, vacuuming, and mopping to do! I needed the "threat" of company to get in gear and declutter and really clean! Where does all the dust come from???
Good luck, Ladies, on getting all your projects done with time to spare!
Nancy and Pat will be collecting cards you would like to donate to the troops but feel free to donate to Christi's fund raising project instead.

Way ahead of me. Bad night last night. Thought I needed 20 3X3s. So I cut, colored 24. You know a few extras, in case I make a mistake. So I get done. Re count. Check the needed total. Finished with 22. What do I need? 26. So tonight I need to make the rest. Also on the to do list-- table #center piece. And a couple samples linda asked for
Finished SU only tonight. I have my recipes, ATCs, and NVR all stamped, cut, and ready to assemble. I've been working those lunchtimes. Plugging along ...

Hope everyone's mother's day was great (and continues to be so). We took a drive to Rochester for the Lilac Fest and brunch with DS & DDIL. The lilacs are fantastic and well worth the drive.
Getting closer to finished! I've got to finish assembling ATCs and decide on a recipe. I'll squeak out a little time today as I've got the day off for a funeral. My cousin passed from colon cancer. She put up a very brave fight the last couple of years but is finally at rest and pain free.
