Less than 10 spots left (unless we figure out a way to squeeeeeeeeze in a few more). Lorraine told me that she has four friends who plan to sign up so to do it now while there is still room!

I'll be at Kathi's May meeting but not the April event if that's what you're talking about. I think Sue might be planning to go in April so perhaps she could bring it back.
What? You can't come? I don't know if I can take it. No yummy food from you. No chocolate rocks. No great ideas stolen from Jacki. The room will be so quiet. How will we get by?

Guess what was the inspiration for one of my projects.....
a Tissue box!
Awesome! I like our tissue boxes but always decide to recycle them rather than use them for embellishments. BUT...we now have one that I am coveting and waiting, waiting, waiting for it to be empty. It's white with a...guess the color!...turquoise overall tiny leaf outline pattern. That one I am going to cut up and use on cards somehow! It makes me happy every time I see that box.
Seeing Arlene's post just now reminded me of another post by her that I saw early this morning. I hope everyone will read it (pasted below) and take it to heart for the May event! I'm directly quoting (trust that is okay, Arlene):
After discussions with others over the years and not just from this gathering but many we have been to, may I make a few suggestions for next time?
1) Using QUALITY cardstock would be GREATLY appreciated!!! 80 lb. and 110 lb. cover cardstock really improves the quality of your shoebox projects and swaps. Copy paper or construction paper just isn't substantial enough to hold up well. Good cardstock like Gina K., Papertrey Ink, My Favorite Things, and Stampin Up makes stamping easier for better images and will make you like your projects even more. Scrapbook paper is OK as a layer but usually it is too thin to be a card base. This topic is ALWAYS #1 after events like this. All hosts say it every time...PLEASE USE QUALITY CARDSTOCK!!!!!
2) Most of us stampers prefer to stamp and color images ourselves. Some people were new to this event and were not sure how much they needed to do ahead of time because of the time constraints so they stamped and colored everything for us. Thank you but please let us stamp and color ourselves so we can say we truly did make it ourselves.
3) Please be sure your ink pads have plenty of ink. Some images did not stamp easily because the ink pad was too dry.
4) Please have extra pieces in your shoebox for oppsies!! I know there were a few of us who couldn't finish our cards because we had problems with certain stamps that didn't stamp easily or ink pads were drying out. Even after turning the paper over and trying on the other side we had problems but because we did not find extra paper we couldn't make a third try to finish the project.
Please take these suggestions in the positive manner in which they were meant...to make every stamping event enjoyable for everyone and to have everyone go away happy saying that all the cards/projects they made that day were great.
No tissue boxes were harmed in the making of my card!
I used the colors and elements as a guide. I swear Kleenex used SU colors for the design.
Judy, it has to do with the Pantone color forecasts that companies look at every year when designing their products. The fashion industry, home decor industry, stamp companies, and anyone else using color in their products rely on the Pantone color forecasts.
Linda, quoting me was fine since I was thinking about your posts on quality when I was writing it for the Williamsville post. I figured I'd speak up and post about quality since we all complain about it after every event. For people on strict budgets, Michael's now has Recollections 110 lb. white and cream cardstock that can be purchased at a reasonable price with a coupon. That paper could be colored using an ink pad to smear ink around to match whatever color you need.
