Shoebox Swap
After much discussion we are making a big change this year! Everyone loves making the shoebox projects so we figure more is better! So, this year we will do shoeboxes in the morning and afternoon! That means double the amount of projects to take home.
Design a project like a card or simple non-card item. This should be a project that can be completed in under 15 minutes, so do not do anything too complicated or time consuming. Bring your project and all the supplies needed (pre-cut cardstock, stamps, ink, embellishments, ect) for making it in some sort of box (hence the term shoebox). The shoebox projects will be done in small groups with your tablemates. We will have tables of 8-9 people per group. Some people type up directions to go along with their project, but that is up to you. We will work our way around the table until everyone has completed one of each project.
Don't panic, you still only need to design and prepare one project. The only difference, you will need to bring supplies for 20 (extra pieces never hurt). You will be assigned one table in the morning and a different table in the afternoon so by days end, you will have a pile of great projects to take home.
You will also need to bring TWO completed shoebox projects :
1) One for your tablemates to see as a sample
2) One for the display board that Tracy will take home at the end of the event
This year we have a swap hostess who will trade out all our swaps. This will save us time and confusion. To help in this task, please supply a large Ziplock bag labeled with your name and swap category. (If you are in more than 1 swap, bring a bag for each)
You MUST choose at least 1 of following: (You may sign up for more, final numbers will come once registration closes)
ETA: final numers are in red. I have attached the excel file with the whole list, including swap groups for those that are broken up
SU Only Cardfront(26 in group A, 25 in group B )
NVR Cardfront: (No Vendor Restrictions) (29 in group A, 30 in group B)
ATC:(32 ) See this tutorial on how to cut to maximize your paper
3-D Project:(5 groups of 10 each)
6x6 Recipe Swap:(36)
Gift Swap
Everyone that brings a wrapped gift will be included in the swap. Your gift should be hand stamped or crafted. And it should be something approximately $5-10 in value. This year will NOT be Yankee Trader style due to time constraints but you will be welcome to trade when the swapping is done. Be sure to include your name somewhere inside, so the lucky winner knows who to thank.
Food
We have again enlisted the dutiful husbands to help with lunch. We will eat at the church in their cafe area.
We are providing deli trays (meat and cheese), rolls, condiments and chips this year. We are asking each person to bring one of the following items:
salad
dessert
12 pack of bottled water
Per request: you may pay $5.00 instead of bringing a lunch item
Feel free to bring table snacks or chocolate!
Name tags
Are soooo helpful!! Please wear a nametag with your name and SCS name on it so we can make the connection and really "know" you!
Garage Sale
If you would like to sell or trade items (stamps or stamping related) feel free. Please remember SU's policy though...current items can only be traded, retired items can be sold. Please clearly label all your stuff.
Buffalo Stamps & Stuff
I have arranged a private shopping time after the event. The store is located just minutes from the church. This is an incredible stamping store, full of current stuff...you don't want to miss this! Check out their site, they offer coupons as well, so check close to the event and print it up if you'd like. www.buffalostamps.com
So glad you are doing this again! Let me know when you need me!

Is this a stay overnight thing? I am new to this one; can someone tell me more?
Sue, all of the information is in the first few entries of this thread. Some of us are traveling over 3+ hours for this event and we often stay over in local hotels. It is not necessary, but it is alot of fun. I hope you decide to sign up. Tracy and her friends run an awesome event!
