Hi -- Just found this thread. I'm going to check with DH and make sure his schedule is clear around that time so that I can come. I'll also see if my good friend and stampin' buddy wants to join me. We'd be coming from the Germantown, MD-area, too! (Saw there's a neighbor above!)
This is great. I've paid for the community center already,so I love seeing so many names LOL. Kristina is a dear for doing the paperwork. Time is running out. This will be so much fun!! And, as an added attraction, I will be doing my shoebox with a set from the upcoming catty!! (assuming demos can preorder some and they get here in time). So, that's another reason to come!

I'm sending off my 15.00 payment in the morning.....I wanted to mail it the first of the week but, every evening this week I've been dealing with work issues, getting 3 large flower gardens ready to plant and helping dh till the garden (which he made larger and I had an aweful time keeping up with the canning last year so, I don't know what he was thinking about...I think he likes the tractor and every time hes on it he sings "She thinks My Tractors Sexy." LOL.
Can't wait to meet everyone. I need to decide which stamp set to use for the shoe box.
Thanks Joan and Kristina for getting this together!
Josette
Looks like registration is booming. That is great. Please get your registrations in the mail to me. If the spots fill up we will have to go based on who has paid already. If you are fully intending to come and have an issue please PM me. I don't want anyone to miss out just because they procrastinated a bit on the registration (this coming from one of the biggest procrastinators in the world!)
I am getting really excited! I hope Joan's new catty set makes it in time because I am dying to see what is coming out new!

Hello Ladies!
Thanks for the most awesome response the the gathering! I am so excited that there is so much interest and I am looking forward to June 17th. Here is where we stand . . . we have 25 people that have expressed interest. I am still waiting on a lot of the registration forms. If additional people are interested I will start a waiting list and if someone already listed has to back out we will fill those slots from the waiting list.
Please keep in touch if there is a change in your plans.
Kristina

Thanks for the first names. When I went to the Texas gathering (the first one) I learned a lot of first names, kinda wished I had known a few before I had gotten there, so I thought I would help us get to know the names.

Bumping just to say that if you have signed up here, please send your $$ and form to Kristina. This is going to be so much fun and we want to start planning food and door prizes, but need "real" numbers first!! Thanks a lot. Can't wait to meet each of you.

Thought I'd be able to make it, but I'm going to miss out this time. Hopefully there will be a next time!
That is sad, but thanks for letting us know. I just bumped in our only wait list person. I sure hope we can do this again in a few months . . . it looks like there is enough interest!

I love the names too.....very funny. I had a duh moment the other day. I received the registration form back today for not enought postage....I used a post card stamp (I keep them handy to mail postcards inviting people to workshops) so, it will go back out tomorrow.
You should have my check on Monday, I am so excited. I meant to mail it last week but life got in the way
Thanks, I'll keep the eye out for it. I got 5 registrations in the mail today, thanks ladies (All the Sherristampsalot clan). I updated the original post.

This is great! We'll have stickers and markers for name tags but feel free to design one of your own and bring it!
As soon as we have what looks like a final list with $$ and names, Kristina and I will post the final final # of attendees, figure out the food angle, get some cool door prizes (feel free to bring some too) and let you all know the number of shoebox swap stuff you need to prepare for.

MnM . . . . Marianne, just received your form last night! It was beautiful! No pressure to the others who haven't submitted theirs yet . . . but she did such a spectacular job stamping up the registration form and created the most beautiful envelope. I will scan the envelope later and post it for you all to see. Thanks, it brightened my day. I just kept staring at it when my husband brought it in, I think he though I was in love with it!

Thank you. I am so happy you received it. The ladies at the post office made me put it in the larger envelope because the "knew" it would get mangled in the system. So we gently peeled of the real postage stamp. (I had to drive home to fill in the blank space in the corner and hurry back to mail it.) Of coarse my husband threw a fit because I don't mail from my locl PO (idiots there) I drive 8 miles to mail stuff. I guess with the price of gas I really should have just mailed it with the blank corner.
See you all soon
Marianne
Hi! My friend Janet and I would love to come. Can we get put on the waiting list? Do we pay now or wait to see if we get in?
Thanks!
Got you on the waiting list, just wait until you actually get on the list before you send payment . . .you are the first and only two on the list at present. Thanks for your interest!

Sounds great!! Could someone please explain the shoebox swap. I've done swaps before, but usually the cards are already made and you just exchange with each other.

Coming in from Manassas!!
Unfortunately all of our slots are full now, but I will put you on the waiting list . . . you are number 4. I will PM you if a slot opens up for you. I'll explain the shoebox swap in another post.

What Is A Shoebox Swap Anyways? A shoebox swap is where you bring all the supplies to make a card that you have designed. You can pile it all into a shoebox, or any box for that matter. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
The above link is a card from my gallery. If I chose this card to be my shoebox swap card I would prepare the following:
1. The card base: 25 pieces of Only Orange cut and scored for folding.
2. Precut pieces of pink passion, whisper white and only orange cardstock that were used in layering and stamping.
7. Typed out step by step instructions for your card. Include your name on the instructions in case someone needs to ask you a question about the card.
8. Please also bring either stamp and scrub and pad or some other means for your stamps to be cleaned in between stampers.
Everyone should bring their own adhesive(mono, dotto; whatever you like best), cutting tools that they need (I brought paper snips/cutter bee scissors to my last shoebox swap) and anything else you know you can't get along without. If your card requires a special adhesive like glue dots or dimensionals please provide those. In the above card I would bring the slot punch since I would not expect that someone would bring one in their basic tool selection.
The idea is that you set up a place at a table with all the elements to make your card. We will be rotating seats and each person will make a card at each station with the supplies there.
Some people have found it helpful to complie all the supplies into a ziplock baggie, making one for each participant. This will not be required, but is helpful.
As far as supplies, please make sure they are high quality, SU! products are great, but not required. The results of the poll were pretty even, so my advice would be to keep it SU!, but if you have a great accessory or stamp that you want to use that is okay too. If you have any questions PM me. Some of participants are demos, some are not, but if the card is all current SU they can use them for examples in their businesses as well.
Any questions? Does anyone need to add or clarify anything?

Mary and Janna, I got your registrations. We have 8 more that have to officially register (I know Joan and I are officially in and yes, we are paying the fee too) so lets get the last of those forms in. If your plans change let me know so we can get the waiting list people in too. Thanks.
