I am excited that I'll be making it back to the UP and will be able to attend! Only wish it were under better circumstances...Thanks again Helen for getting me signed up and for being able to process everything better than I! :-)
See everyone again in July...when I'm sure I won't be able to wait for the Lake Superior air conditioning!
Hi Jan, happy to hear that you are going to join us again. The news that Stephen will be deployed then was not as happy, but we'll try to help make the time pass. Looking forward to stamping with you again.

I am so looking forward to seeing you all this summer and I can’t wait to hear all the details!
I am curious…will there be any classes available to take while we are there?
I would love to take a class by Deb on the way she uses the Copic markers. I would love to take a class done by Sharon on just about anything she would be willing to teach. I know there are others that I could learn so much from, so I am curious if maybe classes would be available to us this year.

Deb and Sharon will be demonstrating on Saturday morning. I'm not sure if they have decided what the subjects wil be yet. Classes are something we'd like to add eventually, maybe next year. We would have to look for other accomodations, set up differently, or extend the time period. We'll talk about the options at the event this year. If there is enough interest we'll go for it.

Hey Joan...it is very likely that I would use or demonstrate Copic markers for my section-- I'm unsure how many people are actually interested in Copic use, so I will try to combine it with something else as well...
I just wanted to add that I'm glad that Deb and Sharon will be doing classes/demos this year. I really appreciated the ones Sharon did last year and they got me started with some of those supplies and tools that I HAD to get but wasn't really using. Thanks, ladies!
Hi! thanks for the info. I'm going to study up so I'll know you all when I meet you;) Deborah, I was just wondering, you said that you perform in local theater, would that include the Calumet Theater by any chance? That's the first thing we check when we roll into town, what's going on at the Theater that we might want to see!!
I was just looking at a web cam, Houghton, Copper Harbor, the Air port..... looks pretty chilly!!
Karen
Hi Karen:
Yes, it is the Calumet Theatre. I know that our local group will be doing "The Music Man" but that won't be until about the second week in September. I'll have to check what's going on for around the time of our event.
Yes, it has been cold. Quite a few days of hovering around zero degrees, as well as over 200 inches of snow so far.
So glad to hear that you can come! We'll be looking forward to meeting you!
Hi JoAnn:
If we are on the wait list, when will we find out if we are in or not?
Thanks
Registration is due: April 1st. We will start contacting the wait list on
April 6th as I will be out of town that week and won't get the week's mail until then. Also, there might be outright cancellations. In that case we can let you know earlier.

I'm sending mine in this morning. I'm already trying to decide what to do for the shoebox swap and the regular swap. I'm excited!!!! JoAnn, did you get my e-mail about Kathy??

Hi Joan! The registration is on page one of this thread-- it's shown as an attachment in JoAnn's first post. My info about the prizes is two posts below that one, on page one.
I probably should know this, but I don't........what is a dirty girl? I think it's part of the dirty dozen, but I have no idea what that means, lol. Could you fill me in?

Yes, Sherry. She is the newest member of the Dirty Dozen. 12 very talented women who share their beautiful creations in a special gallery. You have to be a member of splitcoast to view the gallery. The girls are members for six months. Every month two new girls are chosen and 2 become dirty girl alumni.

I've been racking my brain for something to make for the prize. I'm not very good at stuff like this. Can we do some type of altered item? (I'm thinking a canister with some embellishments in it). Would this qualify???

That's perfect. Altered items were one of our thoughts.

It's above 0, and almost above freezing. Does that mean its almost July 31st? I am so ready for spring. I've been making some cards for birthdays etc., and they just scream SPRING! I know, we still could get some snow, but I choose not to think that way!! I'm almost looking forward to mud season!! (that's sooo wrong)!

Barb..I so am with you on being tired of the snow and cold. I can't wait for July either. I've been thinking about my swaps and what to make for a prize instead of the winter! That helps..Stay warm..Helen

I'm with you there too...!!!
I also am sooooo ready for warm weather and my first "Stampin in the UP".... I just can't wait. We are heading to Atlanta, GA to smooch on grandbabies next week.... the depressing part is knowing we will be coming back to snow and mud and cold.... but hey, it can't last forever and before you know it July 31st will be here!!!! eeeeee ha!!!! See you all in Baraga soon...!
I *thought* I felt a touch of Spring in the air last weekend...guess I was mistaken...I'm home for a snow day from school today. I am SO waiting for green again!
Deb, Hang on to that hope! Spring is one week away! We're suppose to have fog for the next couple of days. That's a good sign right??
You're right Barb...it must not be far away! I have the itch to deep clean the house--either I'm ready to have a baby or Spring is almost here! (NO chance of a baby!!!)
