I have heard alot of horror stories about ordering online from Joann's, both using a coupon and without, so just beware. Hopefully you will have an excellent experience Carrie K.
We also have items at CafePress. These are designs from the 2009 mingle and they do not say "Michigan Mingle" on them. The sales from this shop still go towards the mingle. Here is a link if you want to check those out.

YAY! Got word yesterday that the new bosses are letting me out at 2 on Mingle Friday, so that I can head that way. That gives me 3 hours to make what is normally about a 90 minute trip. Hopefully, I can get there ahead of rush hour and be on time.

Hi everyone! I am kinda new. My name is Vanessa and live in Novi area. Just wanna say hi to everyone. I received an email / PM abt the Mingle event in March with the copic class. Man, I WISH I COULD BE THERE!!!
BUT (there's always a but) I can't commit right now. I won't know my March schedule until mid-Feb. :( It sucks!
Still wanna say hi to everyone. Hope that I can eventually meet all of u sometimes. I am a very lonely crafter here. I DO NOT KNOW anyone loves scrapbooking and crafting. So I almost do all my craps (oh I mean crafts) myself. To be honest, I don't craft as much as I shop and re-organize my crafty items.
Where can I take the beginning Copics' class in metro-Detroit?
I've seen so many beautiful works colored by copics, and would love to try these markers. I am terrible in coloring. There's no way I'll figure it out myself. Besides, I wanna try and see how it goes be4 making such a big investment.
I live in Novi area in MI. Does anyone know where I can take some classes?

Hi Vanessa! I don't know of any copic classes, but why don't you swing by the MI Chat thread I link to in my signature? One of the gals over there may be able to help. I know there are a couple of gals that live nearby you too. You don't have to be a lonely crafter.
Rec'd another Registration today and I know another is in en route, once it is received there will only be 4 spots left and 2 COPIC class spots left. Better get on it if you plan to attend ladies!

Have you been to Archivers in Novi, I believe they have a copics class this month.

Vanessa, I also teach Copics at Scrap Tales in Brighton, not too far from Novi. You really only need a blending pair of markers and a blender pen to take the Copic class. It won't be as much fun as you will only have those 2 markers to play with but at least you would get to try them. I guarantee you will love them.
I have taken a Copic class at Archiver's and they know nothing about Copics. They have been given no training, do not know the first thing about how to use them, the correct inks or the correct paper. I offered to teach them but Archiver's is too cheap to pay for the class.
There is a possibility that I will be at the Mega Meet, May 6, 7, 8th demo'ing Copics for Scrap Tales. They have applied to attend the Meet and are just waiting to here back from them.

You can still order. The royalies from the sales at this point will not go towards this year's mingle. They will go in the kitty for next year. The earnings are held for 30 days and then it takes some time for them to get the money to us.

Sure sounds like fun, but the hoveround and ice don't work at all, and our driveway is a sheet of ice. Have a great time and have lots of fun cardmaking. Perhaps one day I can make it.

Any available rooms left in our room block after today are released back to the hotel. You can still make a hotel reservation after today as long as rooms are available but they will not be part of the Mingle block. As of today, the hotel is not sold out.
