I have been away for a week with my mom for her surgery and then trying to catch up on life. She's doing so well that today they moved her to her own room on another floor. No more ICU!! And if the Xray tomorrow looks good they will take out the tube in her nose/throat and she can start re-learning to swallow liquids. Thanks so much for all your prayers!

Happy Friday to everyone too! Amanda, I agree, these weeks are getting longer but I'm sure not getting much done! I so wanted to stay home from work today but I forced myself to come in here. It's fairly quiet, lots of people took off today so as you can see, I'm playing on the computer and finally getting the chance to catch up with everyone! Only working four days next week and then I am off for 6 days, can't wait!
I hope everyone's day goes by fast and you all have a great weekend! I will definitely be working on cards this weekend, next weekend will be too late!
I think we all should crash Pete's house sometime during the holidays so she can't say that no one comes to her place! ;)
Oh no you don't. But I will plan a play date with some of you for January or February in keeping with my continuing New Year's Resolution to do something stamping-related every month.
I'm all done with my shopping (I have a very short list of people to buy for, thank goodness) and plan to wrap this weekend. I also designed 3 cards so far and want to do one more so I hope to have that done this weekend too so that I can mail them out next week. Then I want to be able to play with my e-craft over the holidays so I can see what neat stuff it will do!

Theresa, so glad about the good news on your Mom. What a relief for you Im sure.
Im not feeling so guilty about not decorating now. But I will probably end up over decorating as usual. I am anxious to get out my new tree as I havent seen it yet. It has LCD lights on it. So I Hope it is really bright. I, of course, will probably add regular lights to make a light tree. LOL.
Cards almost ready to mail. Still have to write a note for a couple. Now to get to post office.

This has been a terrible day. So sorry for the people in Conn.
Dylan has to have another surgery in March. One of the bones in both his legs is growing faster than the other. So they are going in to put a screw in the bone that is growing too fast to stop it from growing so that the other bone will catch up. It is turning his feet in. they have to get him orthodics (sp) too. Poor kid. Hopefully this will stop the pain he is having in his feet.
Oh gee Gloria. Dylan has had so much to go thru. But hopefully this will help with his foot pain. He's such a good kid, I hate to hear he has to have something else done.
I didnt really feel like doing much today. I made the mistake of putting the tv on and havent moved from in front of it or the computer much.
Hopefully, tomorrow will bring some peace and maybe something good will happen.

He is a bit down about this. His remark "I'll just add this to my collection of surgerys. I guess I will have surgery's the rest of my life" Its way too soon to even mention surgery after the last one. He isn't even on solid food yet. Poor kid.

Angie, hope you are feeling better, Christmas is definitely a time when we think about people and traditions we miss. I miss my Dad and the great Christmases we used to have with my parents but I know all things must change and I am trying to start some new traditions with my family and friends. I think Mr. G will definitely help with making this Christmas and the coming year much brighter for you! He is a keeper for sure!
I'm doing OK. Night time is the hardest...when it's quiet...when I'm driving home at midnight. Wednesday is the anniversary date...just gotta get past that and, usually, if like previous years, it's like a burden lifted and I feel better almost immediately. Weird. I don't like feeling this way every year. It is what it is.

Re rape - I saw somewhere - a joke or on FB - there is this thing you can insert in "there" that has BARBS on it. Wouldnt that be wonderful. The person who gets stuck on it can only have it removed at a hospital! If I was a dr I would be very slow to remove it. Cops awaiting wearer. Rofl.

Jane, I totally understand, the Conn. news has really put a damper on my Christmas spirit, even though I know absolutely no one there I feel like someone has punched me in the stomach. Just so hard to comprehend.

Whereabouts is this house in Laurel with all the lights? My hubby loves riding around looking at Christmas lights. He is promising to take me to see all the lights at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville. His shop is right next door so he gets to see them everynight! Of course I want to go INSIDE and spend money too!
I am home today, back is giving me fits and I just feel yukky. Gonna finish up my Christmas cards, at least that will be one project out of the way.

jane - I am going to see if my family wants to go see the lights, at the the kids. I still think of them as LITTLE kids when I say that. Sigh. We will have to take my car if they go. You will be MORE than welcome to join us. I think I know wher it is. I looked it up on mapquest. I'll let you know.
Not feeling so hot today. Stomach is not good. I started a new medication and one of the side effects is stomach upset so Im not sure if thats what it is or not. Also ran out of another med on Fri which explains some of the crying hysterics now that I think about it. Also Conn. news and holiday and Dad's birthday add in. Must get dressed tho & get to Target to get my meds so I can medicate myself into oblivion. No, not a druggie, Im exaggerating in case you're wondering. LOL. Have so much I wanted to do today. Must get to Post Office also to buy stamps to get one Christmas deed accomplished - mail cards.

For those that love the lights, go to 8492 Tipton Drive, off old 216 in Laurel, Md. The gentleman lights his house and everything around. It is set to music and when you get there, you tune your radio to 93.5 and you can hear the Christmas music and watch the lights flash in sync with the music. It is a wonderful display and your kids should not miss it. The adults shouldn't miss it either! There is a small box for donations to the Laurel Boys And Girls Club. When we went, the owner came out and gave us a candy cane. He has 112 channels that control the lights. It was stunning!

May have to check this out Jane. We took the boys and Belle out on Saturday..just around post. They love it we pop popcorn and just ride around. Belle eats all the dropped popcorn off the floor and seats.

There is a house on Catherine Ave in Pasadena that is amazing. I go every year. I guess it is Catherine Ave in that area, could be East West highway. I am not sure but if you go down Catherine Ave toward Richie Hwy you will see it. You can't miss it. They must have a separate electric line to run these lights.

Rose, how was your trip to the Post Office? Boy did I make a big mistake going there today just to buy stamps. What a mob! Hope you are feeling better, stomach troubles are never fun and I totally understand the emotional feelings, this time of year brings out so many memories. Thank goodness there is medication to help us cope with things.
Good morning. Up since 4:30 - for the 4th or 5th time. Toby has been pacing all night and has been sticking extremely close to me and wanting to be petted. I kept getting up to put him outside. I think his stomach must be upset or something. I was thinking something was going to happen - either to him or me. But I survived the night! Ta da... He finally is alseep now that Im wide awake.
Post office visit was long. I used the machine in the lobby. Only one of them was dispensing stamps. There was even a line for that. So I got all the cards stamped and came out even. BUT I decided to mail the 2 remaining cards so now I need more stamps!
I want to go out today again for a little while. My stomach doesnt feel so bad this morning. Courtney wanted a perfume that Ulta has. Its a spray actually not a perfume. Thank goodness cause Im not spending $70 on perfume. She doesnt want much, mostly money for a retreat during spring break.
Well, since I really am wide awake and cant seem to "rest" maybe I will actually DO something like decorate. Im still not liking this tree so I have to get it decorated soon.

So I attempted a Christmas card design that I could mass produce quickly. Fail. Tried again at a wintery theme. Fail. 3rd time. Fail. How come the ideas in my head do not transfer well to cardstock....

Toby scared the crap out of me just a couple minutes ago. Im sitting here and he starts barking, really barking, which is unusual. He is looking at the front door! Since he is deaf, I know he didnt hear anything. He keeps looking at the door tho. Of course Im thinking in my usual calm way - what if someone dumped something in front of my door, like a bomb or a body? Of course no one or nothing was there. Do you think Ive been reading too many murder/horror books?
I want to make one more big trip out to Kohls and then my shopping should be done. Any good ideas for stocking stuffers? They are always the hardest, especially Ryan. I got a stupid gift for each one so now I need more practical ones. Guess I'll hit up Target sock section for one. lol.
