Sunday Sunday................leads to Moanday........I needed to get more done than I did. Rose, I am so proud of you! I am also pulling out all my Christmas cards from last year and swaps. I will try to get them all ready to mail this week. I don't mind sending cards designed by others. I never claim credit for them so I am good with it! Oh yeah, and I never sell them. Sometimes, I don't even like to let them go. Bonding, ya know? Have a good remainder of the day all. New England won and the Ravens are on. Enjoy. Cindy and Amanda, I hope you are both feeling better. Hugs all. Nancy, I really look forward to meeting you. I am in Laurel. I need lessons on Copics! We are a class loving group. You will enjoy us be like Angie said, you do need to be afraid. We are a bit overwhelming. A very loving group of ladies.

Didn't turn the computer on all weekend and it sure felt good not to have that distraction. I cleaned, crafted, and cooked all day Saturday and then yesterday went to Mom and Dad's for football and more crafting. Worked on 24 snowmen. I also used swap cards for some Christmas cards this year (for those people who could really care less) - have way too many cards. I already have my card designed for my stamping friends and special people. Hoping to work on that one night this week that we are actually home. I thought my October was busy - ha!! December is just as crazy (and it never is). I told DH no more accepting party or dinner invites. I need time to do my stuff.
Nancy, welcome to our crazy, fun loving bunch who like to get together for lots of reasons - stamp, eat, chat, field trips, etc. We are always doing something. Hope to meet you soon!
Cindy, you go girl. I am also using up some past swap or stamp-a-stack cards. They are beautiful so I will sent them. I will not, however, take credit for them or sell them, I promise. I love including a note with cards that says this card was made at a swap and designed by ...one of my clever stamping friends! I got my first Christmas gift in the mail Saturday and need to work on some of the little gifts for home (money for the great-nieces and nephews. I want to make it festive though. I always try something different when I sent it. One year, I sent them each gold dollars. Just fun and a little something to let them know I love them. Ready to label my cards and get them started. Busy, yes Cindy, crazy! Can't wait for Saturday. And on Sunday, Lisa Chatterjee has a craft show with some of her friends that do ceramics and quilting and all kinds of nifty stuff. I want to go to that too. Yikes! Hope everyone is having a great Moanday. Ms.G, I got your info re: the sentencing. Wow so sad. I can't help but wonder..............

I have been working all day on those Stampin Up ornaments. Thanks heavens for Sure Cuts a Lot because I wouldn't be as far as I am. I have five to make. I cut out a couple black ones and scanned it into my computer. Used my Scal program and cut out a whole 12 x 12 sheet of them at one time. I left the cut outs on the sheet and then using the stamp a ma jig stamped them all. It was so much faster. I would hate to think how long it would have taken to cut out 200 of these little suckers.

Just about ready for Saturday...whew. Stepped down from the Paper Cupcakes design team. May do one more card for them if I can get it done by the weekend, but maybe not.
Wish the weather for the past 2 days would stay until the weekend! I'm going to the White House Saturday night. Will be walking several blocks from my office where I'm going to park, so I'm not looking forward to it being cold!

I used the Sure Cuts a Lot program to cut them out. Thank goodness I did or I would still be cutting out one by one. The second picture is of my screen on the computer using the Scal program. Yes, I know they are all the same color but I was too lazy to do other colors. The last image is of a stamped image after I used my Stampamajig to stamp it.
Very cool! Way better than using the dies..that was too much work for me.
Way to much work. These are a lot of work period. And the ladies that these are for will probably look at them and think. "She gave us a paper ornament, thats it"
My son works for a produce company. They had to make a produce themed ornament to get into their Christmas party. He went to Hobby Lobby and got a fake egg plant. He brought it by and we put a santa hat on it, some goggley eyes, a beard and a mustache. It was so cute. He is suppose to send me a pic of it. I will post it when he does. lol

Gloria, did you get your Cameo yet? My Portrait came today but no time to play with it until this weekend. I think I'm going to need the upgraded designer software if I want to do SVG files. I think you can use your SCAL program with your Cameo but you got the upgraded software in your bundle, didn't you? We'll have to compare notes.

Haven't got it yet. You need to get busy if you are going to teach me how to use it. I hope I can use my Scal with it. I have a lot of SVG files that I would be loosing. What did I get??? I don't know but I got it. lol

Rose, SCAL is short for Sure Cuts a Lot. It is a program that lets you cut files on your Cricut (or it use to let you cut files on the Cricut until they sued and won) Thats how I cut all those ornaments out. I will be able to use it until I upgrade my Cricut and then it will be gone sooo I will never upgrade my cricut. Well, I guess I won't have to worry about it anymore sense Santa is bringing me a Silhouette Studio. Come on Santa
Good morning everyone! What a dark morning...had trouble ripping the boys out of bed today. I'm working on finishing up my secret reindeer mission for Saturday. I've logged 14 hours on this project...it's another WTH was I thinking project. lol

Gloria, that is so cute. We have a new challenge for next year and I am guessing your son has some of your talent as he picked out a great item to decorate! You all must have some kind of fun. I am so uneducated on SCAL and all the machines. I still use my Cuttlebug. I will be brain picking on Saturday regarding a new computer and who has what and likes it. I have everything for my pasta dish and I have my Secret Sister Card and my Secret Santa and I am good to go except for cooking.

I'm with you, Jane, when Gloria and Paula talk about the SCAL and other techy stuff. I didn't want to buy a die cut machine that hooks to my computer so that's why I bought the e-craft (even though I haven't taken it out of the box yet to try it). I think that I can connect it to the computer if I want but I'll wait and see. I'm going to work on my SS and SS Santa stuff tomorrow. Can't wait until Saturday!
Now see Pete, I don't even know what an e-craft is!
It's just another die cutting machine but electric, like the cricut and all the other names that I don't know. I think Paula and Gloria just bought the Portrait but I'm not sure. We should have a play date with all our machines one of these days.
Angie - forgot to ask - why are you going to the White House? Perk of being a govt employee? Are you having dinner with the Os?
That eggplant is sure cute Gloria.
See y'all Sat.
Gloria, I was at Michael's on Mountain Rd today & they had some Silhouette stuff. I didn't see any of the machines, but they had the mat, the blade replacement, some rolls of vinyl, & other accessory types of stuff. They had gift cards to use in the online Silhouette store to buy files. They even had the upgraded software I might need to buy. I wonder if they'll eventually sell the Cameo & Portrait.

Happy Thursday everyone! Today is my Friday! Yippee! I need tomorrow to get stuff done for Saturday! Cards need to be made and gifts wrapped! My tree is sitting in the LR but not one ornament on it yet, it has just been too busy of a week to get to it. But it will be done by Christmas, for sure! I will probably do the same as a lot of you, look through my swap cards and send some of them out for Christmas this year. But I do want to make some special ones for family and friends who really appreciate all the work we put into them. Jane, I like your idea of putting in a little note and saying who the card was designed by, I don't want to take credit for it either if it's not mine. It would be cool to have a stamp saying something about that to stamp on those that are not our creations.
I want to see a picture of your sled and skates, Jane! I'd love to have an old sled too to decorate for Christmas and the winter. I've seen some around my neighborhood and love them!
Gloria and Paula, you are talking Greek to me with all this techy stuff regarding cutting files! I know absolutely nothing about that stuff! Maybe on Sat. you two (and whoever else uses these kinds of things) could give us a little presentation on it? Nothing big, just a little information session.
Yes Angie, we want to know why you are going to the White House? Did you get a special invitation? I am SO jealous! I did the WH tour a couple of years ago at Christmas and it was beautiful. Went on a bus trip with my Mom and the bus driver had some spare time and drove us all over DC giving us his own little tour, it was really nice.
Had a bit of a scare yesterday with the DH. He had a spot on his knee that had gotten infected and of course he's a man and kept putting off going to the Dr. By Wed. night he was in a lot of pain so he went to Patient First yesterday morning and calls me to tell me he might be going in the hospital to be put on IV antibiotics. They did bloodwork and xrays and his white blood count was a little high so I had to come home and take him to the ER to have it lanced and drained and they would be able to test the material and see exactly what kind of infection he had and go from there. I was fearing MRSA but thankfully it was a less serious staph infection. He's home but has to see his primary care dr. tomorrow for him to check it. They packed it so it wouldn't scab over so it can heal from the inside out. But the really scary part is that they said if he had waited any longer and the infection got into his bloodstream and bone and went up to his artificial hip, there would be BIG problems. Very scary stuff, I'm telling ya! So now he says if he even gets a scratch on that leg he's going to the dr.! LOL
Ok, better get back to work! I needed a little break and have been wanting to check in with everyone. I can't wait for Saturday!!!
Kathi, if he gets cut bad anywhere he needs to have it checked. That crap is nothing to fool with anymore. There is way too much Shizzle around. We need a stamp that says Designed by my creative stamping friend! Amanda, I am bringing the pasta dish but do you need anything else? I will make the dish tomorrow. Can't wait.
