Hi Indy area SCSers! I am new here, and see that there were a couple of Indy area get togethers last year. I'm hoping we can have another one soon. Would anyone be interested in that? PM me if you are!
I've had several people who attended the Indy gathering last year with me ask if there was going to be another one this year. Did anyone pm you about their interest?
what time are you planning to go to the Convention? Our little group - Indy Inkerz (Hi Kathy) has talked about going... I know I can't go Friday night, but was hoping to spend some Saturday time - anytime after 10am.
Would be great fun to meet up with some of you Indy folks
I'm hoping to get there first thing Sat. a.m. I've been sick the last week and a half but I'm feeling much better each day so I'm hoping by Sat. I'll be back to my old, chipper, early-rising self.
Hi Girls....I will be at the Heirloom Show probably ALLLLL weekend! :p My sideline and I will be at the Make N Take on Friday night, then my family and I will be there bright and early Sat AM...and I will probably go back on Sunday to pick up the stuff I didn't get, but should have, on Sat! LOL! ;)
If anyone is interested...we have a Yahoo Group called "Indy Inkerz" that is composed of Central Indiana SU Demos and we meet every other month for a shoebox swap and food and laughter. Our next get together is at my house in the I65/Southport Road area on March 24th at 11 am.
Anyone interested in joining the Inkerz...I am the ListMom, so please email or pm me and I will send you an invitation! We are always looking for new and crazy stampers to join in on our fun!

Yes, the Indy Inkerz group is for SU! demos only, but I know earlier in this thread there was talk about doing a gathering for SCS members.
I would love to put something together, (with lots of help). Is there interest for one maybe in the fall? The biggest drawback is location....what are some options?
Let me see some chatter on this so we know of the level of interest! Okay?

I would love to get together, I had to miss last years...........boohoo. Heck I would just love to have a small get together until we can get a big one going. I miss my stampin' buddy back home so much, I don't get nearly as much done without her beside me!!!!

adding to the chatter here. I think a fall thing would be fabulous! Also, like Jen hate to wait that long to get together!!! I know of several who might enjoy a Saturday or Sunday afternoon stamp-a-thon!
and I'm thinking of a place we might be able to meet. Let me do some checking and I'll post later!
I'm not a demo, but I'm not too far away, and would really love to meet and play with other stampers. I, too moved here (Bloomington) a couple of years ago and I miss my stamping buddy something terrible!

I'm definitely up for a weekend thing before we try to pull of a major get together. But then again that is coming from someone who is desperate to have someone to stamp with!! LOL

Jen, we're only about 15 minute drive apart... I'd love to get together once I get my house back together (massive spring cleaning attempt over Spring Break). I'm not a demo but a SU! fan! We've "talked" before but never met.
I just now saw your post, I'm not sure what's up with that.........I didn't want you to think I was being a snob or anything. I would love to get together and stamp, and hey a stamper is a stamper, no matter what stamps they use..........and I have definitely been branching out!!!!

Keeping this thread going... I did find out that we can access the Southport Community Room (a small fee ~ maybe $75 for the day) - its a huge room with lots of tables and chairs. Might be the perfect place for a stamp day!

Depending on when you guys do this, I might be interested. I just got back a few weeks ago from a SCS event in Cincy and it was FABULOUS! I'd be more than happy to help organize too...SAHM and all... As long as it isn't in July...I'll be in Florida the entire month...
I can recommend a fabulous place. We just had our groups annual meeting at Pipers on Southport/37. The room was spacious (we lucked into getting an additional part as well) and the food from Pipers is always to die for!
Room rental was $300 and the box lunches (don't let them name scare you, but they have buffet options as well) were around $16 each with tax, tips and unlimited coffee and tea. They have website.
Speaking from experience - you want to have larger events where someone else will clean for you at the end of the day!
Hi Cheri! Thanks for the heads up on Piper's. I have been there a long time ago and had totally forgotten about them. That sounds like a possibility!
Okay...all you Indy area SCS stampers....how about an October timeframe? 50 max? I remember the last SCS gathering that Amy headed up was maxed at 50...and it was a full day of stamping! We had such great fun!
Would you be willing to pay up to $30 for a spot, if it included lunch? Donate a doorprize (or $$ towards)? Help get donations from vendors for the goodie bags?
What would you like to see included in this event? All ideas are welcome....
Stay tuned for more details!

I would definetly be interested so keep me posted on an October event -- that's a great time. Wouldn't it be fun to have a shoebox gathering where everyone designed a holiday card and they we'd go home that day with a bunch of different holiday cards?
If some of you Indy stampers who don't get together with a group on a regular bases are interested, I'm hosting a "shoebox gathering" on a smaller scale in my home on Saturday, July 14th. If you live near Greenwood and are interested, please pm me and I can give you more details.
Hey Kathy! I would be interested in a gathering in October ( I really do like the holiday card idea, what a great time to do it- or really any other card for that matter!) but I would pay $30 with lunch included.
Other places to check out would be Whispering Pines (or Winds) in Wanamaker, and the Beech Grove Community Center. I have been to both places and they are very nice- we could get Panera to cater boxed lunches too (I think they start at $7.00ish and they can write names on them and such). Of course if you need any help I will do what I can!

I know that the Beech Grove community center is really nice and I'm sure we could find several different places to cater in lunch a bit cheaper...........I for one love Panera! LOL Can you tell I'm stuck home and starving! LOL Oh how the bread calls my name. I would be more then happy to help out with anything that I can.

I am definitely up for this!! I will also help you in any way I can. I know that the Jameson Camp (SW side of Indy) also has meeting/gathering rooms in various sizes, but I have no idea of the cost.
Just a thought . . . if we have more than 50 people interested, we could do a modified shoebox swap by bringing supplies for 50 people to make the card and also bring a number of "already made" cards for the number of people we have over 50.
I agree with you that we really don't have time to make more than 50 cards. However if we have 75 people interested (and are able to find the room to hold that many people), then we could bring supplies for 50 people to make the card and bring and additional 25 "already made" cards for the others to take one. Does this make any sense? I think it may work?
Since it seems there is some interest in doing this....I will start researching some of the location ideas that you all have shared to see what will be available when we want to do this. The $30 price was a ballpark number, and since I have a few other ideas that will require a bit additional cost, this would include room, lunch and my "ideas"...:p I would imagine the $30 is the absolute max...could end up being a few bucks less....if everyone is open to Panera lunches  !
I will post a poll in the next day or so to get a feel for what Saturday works best for most of you. Won't be able to accomodate everyone, but sure can make an attempt to get most. Spread the word about the poll when you see it. We need to get a good response so that the date we actually pick will be accurate reflection of the group.
Help will be greatly appreciated after we firm up the date. I will need some brainstorming on some of my ideas, so will let you all know when your input is required. We may do a get together sit down thing so we can all come to an agreement on what will work.
Once the poll closes, I will start a new thread where all the pertinent info will be kept. Stay tuned.....:-D

Hi Kathy. I would love to attend/participate in an Indy event. A few years ago we had a big Demo event and it was at the Plainfield Library in their community room. It was spacious and a nice place. I think it was free or reallly cheap too. Let me know if I can help with the planning.
i will second that about plainfield library, it is really nice i just attended a conference there! i have a few contacts there if you want me to check into it, just let me know!

Pipers is actually in a new location - it has a restaurant side and then a huge side that is designed JUST for events, showers, weddings, meetings, etc, so it is well lit, lots of round tables and BEAUTIFUL decor! Very 'girls day out' feeling. Spacious too.
I love Panera, but the pipers lunch is to die for! Makes your day extra special!
Hi Gals!
Count me in on this! I'd love to help, too! I have a few locations in mind & will call to get pricing and let you know what I find out!

Add me to the list. I went to the one last year and it was great. Anything I can do from a distance I would be more than happy to do. I'm about an hour and a half away but could do whatever needs done during the summer months. Can't wait!!
i would love to go if there is anything that you would need just let me know. i can donate a doorprize. my only question is do you have to be a demo or can anyone attend? im not a demo. i hope that its open to everyone
