I just heard about this gathering and I'm so excited to attend my first SCS gathering. Thanks to you Sarah for organizing what sounds like an awesome event! What a wonderful thing to look forward to after the winter in the ever changing weather in Chicagoland! Thanks again. Happy Stamping!
Okay, if I missed it, Staramaze, can you give us information on how to register for this? Right now I am in the catbird seat, since DH is going out of town for this weekend and didn't know about it until this afternoon! I would like to take advantage of this opportunity and casually mention I'll be gone for a Saturday in March because there can be no possible retort.
I'm so bummed!! There's finally a get together within driving distance and that date happens to fall during our Spring Break so I'll be out of town with my family.
I hope that you'll be holding more gatherings in this area (I'm about 30 minutes North East of AH). I've never been to a shoebox swap and am really anxious to attend one!
Have a great time!!! :p

I will be creating an offical registration form very soon! I have been a bit under the weather... I need to go IN to panera and create a menu... I want to get the best bang for our buck!

I'm feeling a little Dorky right now, but does each person (who comes) bring supplies for every other person there to make one card? Is this right? Just want to make sure cause I have never done one of these before and it sounds like so much fun!

Don't feel dorky! This is a common question...
I will have all the final numbers for you closer to the event... but basically; you design ONE great card. Make something fabulous and simple... no embossing or glitter please; as we do not want to ruin the carpet at the library (unless you want to PRE-PREP any embossing/glitter elements).
Then bring card making supplies... papers cut, ink, stamps, all tools for however many cards are to be be made that day. You will bring these items in a shoebox, or other appropriate set up. Each person will have a small area in which to set up their stamping station. All the participants will then go around and make all the OTHER participants cards. You will of course want to provide a sample, and I will likely have you bring some cards completed (for absentee trades, donations and for me!) Be sure to provide extra papers; especailly for pieces that are to be stamped (for mistakes).
Each participant is also required to bring their own Adhesive and scissors. Bone folders, 1/8" hole punch, or other commonly used tools can be brought as well. Be sure to label all your materials and tools.
I hope that makes sense... please feel free to ask ANY other questions!

Ladies I am still here! I just know I won't get the registration form up till after Christmas... just TOO BUSY! But remember; the event isn't until March 31st! I also hate to get a registration form more than 90 days before the event itself! I don't like having other people's money sitting in my account for so long! Be rest assured however; the room is booked... and I am in the planning stages... we have some great SCS ready to demo some new techniques and show off their stuff... and I already have some AMAZING door prizes donated for the event!
Can someone refresh my memory... who is the gal in our area who attended last time that was the Ronald Mcdonald house lead? I need to talk to her about what they need and how we can help!
Also; if you were already given a door prize donation; or want to help solicit vendors for donations... please email me!
Looks like it is just under a 3 hour drive for me.... I would love to be there. At this point my calendar is open. As a bonus Ikea is nearby!!! Will definately be keeping an eye on this event. The shoebox swap I have done before, but only with 12 people. Should be interesting with more!
Looking forward to a great day and meeting new people...
hey girls - just wanted to get an idea of what YOU would like to see demo'd - anyone have any special requests - I'm open to suggestions - so please PM with a list - and I'll take it from there!
