LovinTX has been scoping out different places to get together for dinner on Friday night before the Swap. I have no idea how many of you are planning to be here on Friday night about 7 pm. and want to get together for dinner. I'm going to list 4 places for the dinner and want ya'll to vote on which one you would like to go to. The place with the most votes, we'll set get set up with a reservation for whoever wants to come. From the looks of the registrations there are quite a few of you coming from out of town.
If you scroll down on their website you can see photos of the Houston location. It's got that "in the woods" feel LovinTX was looking for. http://www.countyline.com/comeseeus.asp
http://www.sandtrapgrill.com/ - this on a golf course. LovinTX has never eaten there but has been told it's pretty good.
http://www.bjsbrewhouse.com/home_page/home_main.html - this is the restaurant that LovinTX's daughter worked at as a hostess. They have a really good menu and it's a casual, yet nice place. It's a little different than your run of the mill chains that are in every city. The only draw back to this place is that it is right at the FM1960 and HWY 249 intersection. This is a very busy intersection.
http://www.pauliescookies.com/Paulies%20Restaurants.htm - this will probably be the most quiet place to dine. It looks just like the picture shows and there is one located on Louetta Rd just a few blocks west of the hotel she suggested. Their food is excellent and they do have some outdoor seating (but it's nothing like being on a lake in Austin!) This is off the beaten path and not right on the main freeways so it'll be a little more relaxed here. This actually would probably be her first choice.
Please post to this thread if you will be coming for dinner and vote on the poll. (I've never done one before so I hope this works.)

I voted for Paulie's. I just like the look of the place, the fact that it's not a run of the mill chain restaurant, and the menu had great choices to satisfy many a varied palate. I will be attending the dinner, by the way. I think we're leaving Austin around 4:00 p.m, so I hope we will get there in time.
I voted for BJ's Brew House. My sister says it's a fun atomsphere. I'm up for anything. I'm also driving in from Austin. What time is the dinner planned for?

Sorry I didn't check for spelling mistakes.

I will be driving in with Kristin (Kiki19) and really don't have an opinion about where we eat. So please add me to the list of attendees for dinner and my official vote for the poll is 'whatever'.
Thanks for putting this event together, I know we are all going to have a blast!!
Count me in for dinner as well. I'll be driving in with sassybee and scounts. The food at Paulie's looks terrific, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to vote for BJ's Brewhouse. The atmosphere looks like it's more conducive to big parties, talking loud, having a few drinks, and hanging around longer than it takes to eat dinner.
i wont be doing dinner, my daughter has dance from 715-815 that nite.. and she has to attend because it is her competition dance that practices that nite.
Sorry, I won't be able to attend dinner that Friday evening--we are in the middle of football season at that point. My DH is a high school football coach so I will be attending the game that night (some weeks that is the only time I get to see him). Can't wait to meet everyone on Saturday, the 23rd though!
I plan on attending. I voted for County Line, however Paulie's would get a close 2nd vote for me. I am looking forward to the 23rd!
Thank you ladies for organizing this. Great idea!
Looks like we've got this wrapped up. I've tallied all the votes and the winner is BJS Brew House. I have 7 who have said they wanted to meet for dinner.
I'll pass this info on to Christine and she'll make the reservation under her own name even though she and I probably won't make it for dinner. We're going to be setting up the tables and getting things ready for Saturday. We'll see how that all pans out. Hope ya'll have a fun time.

You aren't coming? I am disappointed, but I totally understand. I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off on Friday and Saturday morning. :( Out of the 7 dinner guests, 5 of them are from my group. Where is everyone? I promise I don't bite or stink! LOL

If we get done early I'll be sure to come by since we're trying to do the set up on Friday night. And I'm still working on my door prize. Hopefully I can finish that up tonight.

The planned time to meet for dinner is 8:00. This will allow enough time for everyone coming from Austin and it is also a better time for the restaurant. BJ's does not take reservations for less than 10 people so there may be a short wait (but it's worth it!) I guess you can all meet at the front.
