Yep, that's where I found the coupon that I used last night and I'll be stalking the paper person on Sunday morning!!

I stalk Hobby Lobby every time I go to Texas to visit my grandkids. Only spend a week there, but usually visit H.L. twice at least. There are two stores within a 15 minute driving time of my son's house. Lucky me! I just want y'all to know that H.L. has specials every week, all year long. So keep checking their web site and there is very often a 30 or 40% coupon for one item. It's worth the drive! I hope to get away on the Friday and get to H.L. on Friday evening. Anyone know of a reasonably priced hotel near the swap site?

Thanks, Anne! I sure wish you could come too! Maybe next time??

So I checked out HL today. They were giving out tote bags with a few goodies inside. Nothing spectacular in my bag. I think I will like this store, but this morning was VERY crowded. I guess I should have expected that, but I was a little surprised. It was hard to really browse leisurely with so many people and there were a lot of empty spaces like they sold out of a lot stuff. Sooo saying all that I still managed to spend $50 and just about everything I bought was at 50% off. LOL All in all I like having another craft store to choose from. They seemed to carrying many different things from ACM, M's and J's.
I think I have my shoebox and swap figured out. Now I just needed to get them all together.
Are you guys ready to kill me or what?? I sincerely hope that none of you are upset with me for adding folks on, but I just can't say no when somebody wants to stamp!!!
Karen and Heather are today's new additions - welcome!! Karen will be participating in the SU only swap and Heather in the 6x6 recipe swap. The swap counts have been updated. Please, if any you are not able to absorb the swap additions, please let me know and we'll find a little swap angel!!

Laurie,
As it is only 2 weeks now till the swap (actually a little less), it would be nice to have solid numbers to prepare for, as work and my SU demonstrator events take up most of the time between now and then, and I want to get my projects prepared.
I'm not trying to exclude people but those that signed up with the deadline in mind are now scrambling to accomodate others. Thanks for understanding.
So I've got my shoebox project just about all together. I got the 5 put together and all the pieces for 8 cards in baggies. My question since I've never done this is: Does it really all have to be put in a shoebox? I guess my real question is why is it called a shoebox project. LOL
I've almost figured out what I'm doing for the swap so I going to try and get that started tomorrow.
My weekend it all full already so no time for working on getting my projects together. We are going to see Spirit of America at the Blue Cross Arena on Saturday anyone going? It looks pretty interesting and the tickets are free. My DS is very into American history so I thought it would be a fun family outing for an afternoon.
I'm off to type up my recipe for my shoebox project.

4. Gayla (snowcountry311)
5. Melissa Henchen (melissahenchen)
6. Sandy Olsovsky (Grammieo)
7. Patricia Seefeldt (Patricia A)
8. Debbi Hill (debbers)
What are you girls doing for themes? I have not started yet (LOL big surprise) and I wanted to do something different, so we were not all doing Christmas, or Baby, Wedding, etc...
Thanks!
Melissa...... I asked the same thing. I don't have my design down yet, but was leaning toward Halloween?
What if we all took a color? Or we could just tell what our theme is so we try to avoid too much duplication?

I am new to this kind of event too. I am not sure how much of the shoebox project I am supposed to do. I have several parts that require punching. Do I punch out all the pieces so that only assembly of the card is needed? Are we supposed to individually bag all the pieces for 1 card? I am assuming the box just gets passed around the table and everyone takes their turn at making this particular project? Sorry for all the questions-I just want to make sure I do it right.

as far as passing the shoebox around-in the past this is how we have worked it------
1. as everyone is seated who each introduce ourseleves.
2. each also show their project
3. then we move left to right. leaving our project at "our" seat. this way you just take your stampin basics w/ you.
as for pre punching i believe that is totally up to you-as you know if it "too time" consuming
I keep checking to see if you mark my name paid, I sent my check some time ago! Also the 3d item, is there a size were to stick to, I'am not sure what to do with this one. I have something in mind, but I dont want it to be wrong. Also are we to put our names on everything we do?

Debbie,
Your check arrived in the mail yesterday, so you're all set.
There is no specific size for the 3D swap, you can do whatever you'd like! Yes, you should put your name on all of your swaps so the others know who made whatever beautiful things you make!!

Gayla, you are far too organized! I am only doing a shoe box and a gift swap and I am no where near finished. Of course, working 7 nights in a row, and attending 2 funerals and a wedding all in the space of 8 days, may be a good excuse for me! At least, I do have everything planned, now just the execution of it!
