CNY Stamps -- AKA "The Gathering"
Hosted by Linda Tarolli (SCS: lindylou1220)
Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
East Syracuse, NY
We are closed. Swaps have been updated. I'll be making some requests for changes to food items since we have many sweets, salads and snacks but, I think, only two main dishes and a single breakfast item. Please check the swaps to be sure I have them as you wished.
EARLY REGISTRATION: February 26 --> $32 (save $3)
LAST CHANCE REGISTRATION: March 26 --> $35
This event will be held on the lower level. There is a short flight of stairs.
This thread is our primary means of communication. You'll want to check in often to be fully informed, so please SUBSCRIBE to this thread. Participant paid list and swap lists will be updated ONLY when registration forms with payments are received. It is fine to post here that you are coming and which swaps you're interested in, but lists will be updated only once your registration arrives. Thank you for understanding.
********************************* It's an entire day of stamping fun so plan to join us at the original Central New York Shoebox Swap.
Cost – $32.00 by check or PayPal Friends & Family when paid by February 26. Last chance for registration ($35.00) is 5 o'clock on March 26. This will give you nearly 6 weeks to complete your swaps and projects. Registration form is at the bottom of this post. There are no refunds, but you may offer your spot to someone else.
Please make up 16 project kits (plus oopsies) PLUS two (2) completed projects. The completed projects will be displayed at your table, on boards so that everyone can get pictures of all of them. The projects pinned to the boards will go home with me. (Thank you.)
SWAPS: Participate in none, one, some or all. It's up to you. All card swaps are full cards. • Stampin' Up! only full card (must be current SU! for this one) - FINAL COUNT 15 • Children's birthday full card - NVR (NVR = no vendor requirement) - FINAL COUNT 14 • No sentiment, no flower full card - NVR - FINAL COUNT 13 • Fancy fold full card (it'd be great if you could include directions if not obvious) - FINAL COUNT 13 • Recipe - 6x6 (people food, please) - FINAL COUNT 4
Mandatory Shoebox (Table) Project – Bring your idea and all the supplies (precut but not pre-stamped or prepunched) needed for xx to make your project the day of the event. Quality products are mandatory. There are several threads that discuss qualities of a good swap. Please read them if you are unsure or ask here. Your shoebox project will be set out in the morning. You will work on your table's projects in the morning and move to a different table, graze, shop garage sale items and move to a different table in the afternoon. GOOD DIRECTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO BE POSTED WITH YOUR SHOEBOX but you'll also briefly describe your project for the room at large. Yes, you are in essence a demo for the day! Make 16 kits plus two additional completed shoebox projects. Participation in the table shoebox project is mandatory. This project will generally be a full card, with layers and embellishment(s) or a simple 3D item. Please provide any special adhesive that's needed. Make these something you’d be thrilled to get yourself. Projects should take NO MORE THAN 10-15 minutes to complete. If you are unsure, time yourself or someone else doing your project.
Food – Please indicate on the registration sheet the food item you will bring to share. Please be specific; don’t just say “food”! Ideas: breakfast items, lunch items, including salads, desserts, and snacks. We love to try your food specialties! Water will be provided. No coffee this time unless there's huge outcry here.
“Garage Sale” – Bring your stamps and stamping supplies to sell or trade. Current Stampin’ Up! items must be offered for trade only; you can sell retired items. Sorry but we can’t be responsible for missing items so bring things at your own risk. There is a very limited table space for garage sale items. If you are bringing a lot to sell, BYO table. Please have items priced and include your name somewhere obvious.
Goodie Bags – for everyone! Everyone will leave with a bag of fabulous goodies. The goodie bags will all have the same value but may have variations in colors, etc. If you would like to donate to the goodie bags, please message me.
We'll happily accept door prizes (new condition and stamping related, please). It's fantastic that we can give so much away so please consider donating.
Other Stuff – Please bring your own LABELED items for your personal stamping needs, including your favorite adhesive. These are the items you just can’t stamp without: favorite adhesive(s), bone folder, paper trimmer, scoring tool, scissors, stamp cleaner and whatever else you can't stamp without! If you leave something behind, I can't return it without a name to ID it. Did I say adhesive????? Adhesive! You will likely need lots of it.
Simple name tags will be provided.
SHARE THIS EVENT WITH A NEWBIE OR FRIEND. ALL ARE WELCOME.
Complete the registration form and forward with your payment no later than March 26. All funds collected will be spent on the event.
If you have any questions, please ask!
Let me know if you see any errors. Hope you can make it!

FINAL COUNT 15. Count includes one for you but there are no +1s for door prize since almost everyone is participating in the swap.
Everything has been updated, including counts for your shoebox projects. Those are +2 completed projects rather than +4. None of the swaps have +1s.
Please check swaps to be sure I've gotten them as you planned.
Last of all, the food options are very uneven so I will be reaching out to many of you about possibly making a change. Since that isn't at the critical stage yet and I have several other things that are nearing that, the "reaching out" may be as late as a week or more from now.
I have had some questions about using only "current" things -- If you have any questions, remember that there are more colors staying than retiring so you should have plenty of those from which to choose. There are also many, many carry over items (stamps and dies, some embellishments and ribbons, plus embossing folders) that could be used but you will want to avoid designer papers since all in the books have retired. There is at least one DSP in the online only shop but don't feel that you have to use it.
Plan to design around using DSP for the SUO swap but all items, whether retiring or not, are open for use for any other swap or for your shoebox. And, remember that you are not even limited to Stampin' Up! for other than the SUO swap. The goal is for quality regardless of supplies used.
