Sanford and Ocala are both on the north side of Orlando - I am over on the east coast about 90 min from either of you - would be fun to get a big group together

I wouldn't ask me where to meet since I don't know my way around very well here. I would love to do a get together.
I make cards and gifts and I need to get back into scrapbooking, but I haven't brought myself to that yet. I used to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, did that for 10 years but gave it up a year ago. I don't have a lot of Stampin' Up! stuff anymore, but I would love to get my hands on the new colors. I need a job first, but that doesn't keep me from wishing.

Loey, We just bought a house in Citrus Spring, although it is only occaionally that we get to be there. We still call Western New York our home. Will be there in November to finish up some details-would be great to find out where things are in the area with a fellow crafter.

We have a shoebox going for the first time-and I have to say with all the organizing that I did, research not to run into others dates, I am alittle sad at only having a bunch of lookers and no takers at this point. We have donations coming in from several of the scrapbooking, stamp companies. They want to see a posting-but are willing to send items for your gatherings. I have reserved the hall, purchased gift bags and some of the goodies to go inside-hoping it doesn't end up a total bust.

Loey, If you would like to travel to Western New York in March you are more than welcome.
I grew up in Western NY - Tonawanda (outside of Buffalo). My mom still lives in Williamsville. But March is not a month I head north! I would love to get a shoebox swap started down heree somewhere.
We dont really have any stamping stores here other than Michaels and the selection is very poor. Ive been thinking about driving down to Ocala to hit the hobby lobby. We should meet for coffee and shopping one day My home email is [email protected]
I live in Daytona Beach and would love to join the group if you get one together.
Emily
Okay Gwenn and Emily - I am working on getting specifics for a venue either here or in the villages. Once I have a location I will let you know. I want to do a shoebox exchange.
I am in Spring Hill (Hernando County), I guess I have been lost in the bushes for awhile and just found this WONDERFUL site about a week ago.. Just love it. But I dont know what a shoebox exchange is. Would some one tell me.. Thank you so much.
ScrappinLizzi- I have been to a shoebox exchange before. Basically, you make a card/3D item and put the supplies in the box for everyone else to make what you did. It is a fun way to get together and learn new techniques.
I have been to a couple when I lived up north. they were held in public places that were free. One of them was in a community's rec center. The only requirement the community had was that the event had to be open to anyone living in the community. No one from SCS had a problem with that requirement. Two women from the community signed up and they had a good time.
Another one was held in a church basement. they didn't have a fee but the group gave a donation to them.
The ones I'm talking about had about 25 people at each which is pretty big for most homes. If you keep the group small you could do it at home.
I run a group on Facebook called the Scrap A Latte. We meet up twice a month at the book store and scrap! If you are ever in the Southeast Volusia County in Central Florida come on by!
