Peeking in, haven't been here for awhile . .. have we worked out a get together for AZ SCS yet? I am totally up for something like that -- just I can't take it on right now since I am 31 weeks pregnant . . . anyway, keep me posted if someone decides to do this
All the best to you, Amanda.
Are there any more events planned? We missed the late October ones, but are now in Casa Grande for the winter.
I'm not much of a planner, but would love to work with someone on planning this. I'd even offer my home as the location (north central phx). Perhaps early January?
I ordered about 8-9 Penny Black stamps at Red Rubber Stamps back in July. They said that they needed to have more requests before they could place an order (8-9 stamps isn't enough?). Anyway......I called them in August they hadn't place the order, I called them in September and they still hadn't placed the order. The beginning of October they told be that the order had been placed. I called a couple of times throughout October because they said that they should get the shippment in at any time. The first week of November I called them again, they had miss placed my order and never even ordered my stamps! Now this wouldn't have bothered me too much, but everytime I called them, the lady knew exactly who I was and that I had ordered Penny Black stamps. I felt like I was lied to for 4 months. Needless to say, I will NEVER go there again! They lost that sale which was around $100 and they have now lost any future purchases by me.

There is a fantastic CROP and SHOP in the West Valley this Saturday Nov. 22nd at the FIRE & FRIENDZ ART STudio at 8550 N. 91st Ave, Ste 49 from 4pm-11pm.

Tammy--this is terrible to hear! That is a long time to wait for stamps. I have heard similar situations from other Stampers about Red Rubber Stamp Store, esp the part of having to place an order for stamps like a catalog company. :(
Terri (Tdodd00) and I are interested in getting a group together to do a Shoebox Swap or something similar in the near future (definitely after the holidays). Terri talked to the owner of Stamp Works in Chandler, AZ, and she has agreed to let us use her classroom for the event. Can you all let me know if this is something you'd be interested in? If we get enough interest (we can fit about 12 people in the room), then we can talk to the Stamp Works owner about dates. Please PM me if you are interested. Happy Holidays!!
No, but there is going to be a rubber stamp show in September again at the Tucson Convention Center. It was PaperGatherings, now it is being called Creative Escapes. There will be lots of great vendors, Judy Ross will be teaching a class. It will be a lot of fun. Sept 11th and 12th! Mark your calendar.
I'm not going to the Tucson one, but I may go to the one in Mesa the week before the Tucson show. I haven't decided if I'm going because I really don't need anything.;) The last show in Mesa was in November and I went in to get 2 things. I looked around, but all I got was what I went for. Besides, I want to be able to go to the Scrapbook Convention in April so I'll need to save up for that.

I'm in Cave Creek. Love stamping and scrapbooking. Not a great stamp store in this area that I know of. If anyone out there knows of one, pls let me know. Thanks and Happy New Year
So, is it something you walk around and there's vendors you can purchase stamps and supplies from? Or is it things we can only look at? Or is it like a huge get together and we all sit down and do make 'n takes like SU regionals? I'm really not trying to be "blonde", I seriously didn't understand by their show schedule, that's why I asked. Have you ever been to one before? Are you planning on going? You can pretty much count me in, as long as it's not outrageously priced.

There are vendors to buy from, cards that you can take pictures of for ideas, make and takes (some are free others are anywhere between $1-$5), HTH

My calendar is already marked for this one. I've been meaning to get to this one the past few times it's been here and always have something come up. Hopefully I can get there this time.
I went to the Paper Wishes one at the Tucson Convention Center in the fall and it was OK, but kinda small. Hopefully it will grow. I really like the one up in Mesa and have stayed up there for the weekend a couple of times so I could attend.
After checking out their website, I had to make a note that this is at the Expo center on Irvington, not the convention center so I go to the right place. Also printed up the $3 off admission coupon from their website and attached it to the calendar.
Would love to meet some fellow SCS'ers there too! :-D
The one in Mesa is my favorite. The one in Tucson and Glendale (Rubber Stamp Expo) is kinda weird. They sell stamps and stuff, but they also sell:
Bras
Croc Shoes
Candles, etc...........
At least that's what they had last year. I'm not real sure what bras and shoes have to do with rubber stamps and scrapbooking.????
Even with that stuff, there's still a lot of actual stamps and stuff to buy.

It does help, thank-you! I wasn't sure if it was like a SU Regionals event where ya'll are in one big room sitting at tables and different people get up and speak and show techniques and you do make and takes and there's nothing to purchase. Thanks for the heads up about the idea boards, I'll be sure to bring my camera!
Anyone going to the crop girls grand opening this weekend? i am going with my friend. we have been waiting for weeks for this new store to open we are so excited. it is pretty close to where i live crop girls is near peoria and 99th avenue. i hope to meet other fellow stampers there. i plan to visit there store when they have the card gathering which is free and the crop girls donate the cards to a charity. god bless margie
I'll be there! I have been watching and waiting, too. I went by last week and peeked in the windows. I'm so excited. We really need something like this in the West Valley.
So, who's all going to the stamp expo in the morning? Anyone??? Since I'm new to Tucson and don't know anyone here...I volunteered to work both days at the expo
I had a good time volunteering. I had a lady on here pm me...I met her in person at the expo. I got together with them last weekend to stamp...great ladies!!! Very talented too
I'm in Tucson January through March and in Holland, Michigan the rest of the time. I'd sure like to meet some of you. Maybe I'll have to try to attend some kind of convention. I think the big one they used to have in Tucson just had it LAST meeting.
people who like to stamp and make cards in Tucson/Oro Valley. I will be there starting November 28 for four (4) months!:-D I hope there will be plenty of opportunities to get together with other people who enjoy making cards. PM me please! Can't wait to get out of the cold, cloudy, rainy weather. The Midwest in Winter is the pits!:(

If you want to go to a convention while you're in Tucson, then mark your calendar for February 20 & 21.
I am from Tucson and to be honest - most of our stores have closed over the last few years. We have 2 scrapbooking stores and the general craft stores. The scrapbooking stores carry some acrylic stamps, but the better deals are with the craft stores.
Anyone in the Tucson area have regular get togethers? I will be moving to Tucson soon and would like to find some new stamping/paper crafting friends. Thanks!
HI I live in Tucson. Right now I'm in Colorado Springs. My son live's here he is in the Army and just got back from Afghan. I'm looking forward to heading over to the great
Hobby Lobby store right down the road from his house. I so wish that Tucson would
get a Hobby Lobby. We do have Michaels and Jo-Ann's.
I have a few friends that come over once a month and we make cards. If any one else
here in Tucson would like to get with us we would love to have you. The more the better.

Hello Tucson stampers! I am a regular visitor to Tucson (6 months/year - but not consecutive) and I love to stamp! I will be back in July and August. Please PM me with your information and I will call/email when I get in. I live with my parents in Oro Valley when I am in AZ, however after 16 years of visiting, I am getting to know my way around pretty well. Looking forward to hearing from you all!
Hey fellow Tusconians. I am having a Stampin' Up! workshop at my house on Friday the 14th, from 6pm to 8pm.
I am also inviting friends over on the Friday the 21st from 6pm to 10pm. I will be working on some cards and scrapbook layouts and I would love to make some new friends.
Call or email me if interested in attending either one- I live near the VA Hospital on the SW side of Tucson.

Hi I would love to come to you scrap and stamp but I can't drive any more and none of my stamping friends drive at night. So I will not be able to make it. Here is my home
phone number if you would like to call me so we can get to know each other. And the next time I'm having friends over for our stamping day here at my home I will let you know and if you can make it over to that. That would be great.
Just a few more days and I will be in Tucson. Looks like I just missed your get together Staci! Shirley I would have taken you on over with me, well ladies maybe next time! Can't wait to meet you all!
