I know what you mean, Julia. My sister and I are making a mini vacation of it to take all the classes we want. This event used to be held in Columbus which made it more convenient for people across the state to attend it. Unfortunately, there were issues with the previous hotel so it got moved to the Kalahari which seems to be more accomodating. I've been trying to see if any other SCSers are interested because it's a loooong time until Stampaway for those of us in the southwestern part of the state.
I know, Julia. I *hope* Artiscape will be well attended, but I think the gals who used to make it a day trip (doable from Cincy to Columbus, but not to Sandusky) may hurt the attendance numbers.
Are any other SCS'ers planning on going to this event? It will be held April 10-13, 2008 in Sandusky, Ohio. I know that seems like a long time off, but the classes have been announced on the European Papers web site www.europeanpapers.com and the good ones fill up fast. If there is enough interest, maybe we can plan a get together there.
NOTE: I have attended Artiscape in years past, but not otherwise affiliated with it.
I'll have to look into that. I am only 20 minutes away from Sandusky!
I'm in Springboro... South of Centerville and Miamisburg. I would love to get out and meet some fellowette stampers/scrappers! I am so sad to have left my friends (and demo) behind in Texas last year :( Please PM me with any info or just to say "hi!"

Haven't been bumping this due to the holidays, but I got my registration packet for this event in the mail yesterday. I know a few classes have sold out already, but if you aren't sure that this is your cup of tea, you can just come to the marketplace on Saturday afternoon. My sister (also an SCSer) is coming and we thought that it would fun to get together sometime on Saturday afternoon with other SCS folks, maybe do lunch and trades. Please feel free to PM me on this.
I also live down the street from KI- Maineville.
I love to stamp and scrap. I go to the Archiver's Scrap Mania's once a month. The Hobby Lobby deals around here can't be beat! AND we are getting a Jo Ann's Superstore!!!!!
I am a teacher here in the area.
Where did you move here from?

Hi everyone. I live in Clayton (I am near the Dayton Airport area kinda sorta) and I have been out of the stamping circle for a couple of years and wanting to get back into. I would love to meet some of you. I wish some day we could all meet up in a centeral location haha wishful thinking.
Howdy neighbor!!! lol...I live in Butler Township, just off Little York Rd. We are practically neighbors, & I'd love to get together with another stamper! I dunno about all of us meeting in a central location, though, that could be kinda scary, haha...

Hello Ladies-
I just found this thread. I will be moving to Avon within the next month. I also just send in my paperwork to become a demo. I can't wait to get my stuff. It would be great to meet other stampers in the area.

Welcome to Ohio! I'm a hobby demo in South Amherst. My husband grew up in Avon & my in-laws still live on the family homestead. Good luck with your demoing!

Hey Katie, Looks like we are neighbors, I live off of Brantford!!!
I became a SU Demo over a year ago and had some health issues that I have recently overcome, so I am excited to get back into the "Stamp" of things!!!
It would be great to get together with anyone in the area!
Just let me know!!!
Silly me! I haven't visited here lately and see what I've missed?! Thanks for the info Nora - I will be checking that link out for more info!
...and you say it's at Kalahari? COOL! I've been looking for an excuse to go there since my little one is all grown up!
now to convince DH that I really do need to go there and to Milwuakee for regionals the next weekend!
If you do go and stay at the hotel, a free pass to the indoor water park is included. I'm starting to gear up for this now. Gotta get my trades done for next month.
I'm taking my husband to Kings Island on May 17-18. While he's at the amusement park, I'd love to be making some cards or scrapping. Does anybody know of a crop or something similar going on near Cincinnati that weekend?
I heard that there's a super store down there that may lend itself for a couple of hours of delight. :-) Does anybody know of anything else that would be interesting?

Hey, Lynn! There's an Archivers not far from KI with Michael's and Hobby Lobby at the same exit. A bit further south on I-71 is Stamp Your Art in Blue Ash which is well worth a trip.

Hi Nora,
Thank you so much for your suggestions. NOW, I'm starting to get excited about this trip. :-D
My sister and I am going to Artiscape convention this Thursday so we will be going I-75 north from here (Cincy) to Sandusky. Are there any cool LSS either on the way up there or in Sandusky itself? I know that there is a Pat Catan's in Sandusky. We don't have that chain here so it's exciting to us lol. Also interested in any cool bead, fabric or yarn stores or anything you could use in stamping/mixed media projects for that matter.
Hi Kathy or should I say neighbor,
I'm within walking distance of the golf course. I love making cards, what about you? Maybe we can meet up & have fun, not just making cards but whatever. I, also belong to a group called StampOhio. It's a great bunch of ladies & one awesome scrapbooking man. You can privately email me at - [email protected]
Already love you bunches, as there are so few of us I've found in my little corner of the world. Bonnie
p.s. - I'm making a trip up to Centerville this Wed. around 1 pm. You are more then welcome to come along with me and my caregiver, friend & companion. We're planing to go to Marco's - plus meet up with a few friends from SO - after shopping we plan to go out to dinner before heading back home.

Hi Nikki,
I am not so far away in Enon. About 15-20 minutes from you. I would love to meet up and stamp, etc. PM me to set something up.
Julie
Too funny, I grew up in Mason. You can see that tower from my bedroom window. I even worked at Kings Island before Paramount bought them out (THE BEAST RULES!!!). My dad golfs at the golf center at least 3 times a week. My folks still live there and if I didn't think my mom would drive you INSANE I would give you her information to stamp with her.
Just ran across this one - OK, daughter - I'm going to spread the word as to where they can find me - insane I am - Once they get to know me they'll know why. love you bunches - your mom
Connie, one of the reasons I hadn't subscribe to Splitcoasts before is I knew my daughter, Kathy was a very active member. But .. . now she's going to have to live with me being here.
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with
you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have
her as my dog even though she got sick.
I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to
swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her, you will know
that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love, Meredith.
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith
and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it.
Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope
because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the
way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at
the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the
letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front
porch, addressed 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened
it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies'. Taped to
the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its
opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey &
Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven.
Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.
Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays
in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog.. Since we don't need our
bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I
am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have
something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you
write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I
picked her especially for you.
I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.
By the way, I'm easy to find. I am wherever there is love.

Kathy L,
Hello! I am in Springboro (about 30 minutes north of you, up 741). I get down in Mason to shop Costco a few times a month. If you are interested, we could meet in between (Middletown-ish) or either end. I have been here for almost 2 years and still haven't met many women I can call my friends (and NOBODY to stamp with). I run a little online shop and try to stamp/scrap whenever I can (although it is not as much fun alone - how I miss my buds in TX...)!
