;) *ORIGINAL POST*SEE BELOW FOR CONFIRMED DATE!*There were about 10 of us that gathered back in February for a Shoebox Swap and had such a great time, and made GREAT NEW FRIENDS that I think it's about high time to do another one this fall! This would be held at Smithville Brethren Church, right on Main Street (S.R. 585) in Smithville. For those outside the area, Smithville is a little town right on State Route 585. Very easy to get to from about anywhere! I hope lots more will plan to join us! I'm including a poll with this thread to see when the majority would like to have this! No matter what day it is held, I would probably look at beginning around 2:00 in the afternoon. So please vote, and let me know if you have any questions! Let's get together and stamp again!
Hey girls! The date has been decided! The 2nd Northeast Ohio Shoebox Swap will be held on Saturday, October 14th at 2:00 p.m! Keep checking this thread for further updates!
Hadn't thought about this before, but I think we'll have to say deadline to sign up for this October 1st. That way we'll know how many are coming, and everyone will have time to prepare their swaps!

I also voted for the 14th! Can't do the weekend of the 7th-8th. Looking forward to this shoebox swap! It'll be my first one ever!!!
Right now, I have a tentative Stamp Club on 10/07 so I voted for 10/14. I can move the 10/07 club meeting if I have to...I would love to come Tammy! Lot's of firsts for me...I've never done a Shoebox Swap either! Woohoo!
Not a dumb question! For a Shoebox Swap, you design a card or other stamping project, make a sample, and then depending on how many stampers are attending the swap, you cut enough cardstock and have that and all the other supplies ready for everyone at the swap to make one of your card/project! You put all your supplies in a shoebox and then it gets passed around the room for everyone to make your item. Or in the case of the one we did last winter, each project was set up at a different place around tables, and everyone moved from space to space and did the projects. And we eat, and talk and talk and talk! Lots of fun! There may be a few specifications listed about the swap when we decide the date, such as layers, embellishments, etc. only because I went to a swap once where several people really put a lot of time and thought and supplies into their projects, and other projects were so simple they were ridiculous. For example, two ladies at that swap had already stamped the cardstock and everything... all we did for one card was glue it together and stamp a sentiment, and the other we glued together and tied on a ribbon! I use these as an example because I don't want anyone to feel intimidated... ("I'm not good enough!")... I'm just wanting to make it a fair balance of good projects. I want people to feel it was worth their time to come! At the last Northeast Ohio swap we did, we had a great variety. Cards with a lot of great ideas and features and details, and a stamped tile, and 2 different notebooks, and a cool Oriental card and envelope made from Wild-Card templates, a micorwave popcorn sleeve, etc. Click on my username, go to my gallery and check out my album for the Northeast Ohio Shoebox Swap to see those projects! Hope that helps!
Yes, I do Debbie! I wouldn't have it without you because your projects are awesome! Why doesn't anyone else want to come and find out how awesome they are??? OHIO GIRLS! WHERE ARE YOU????
C'mon all you OHIO stampers!!! I've never done a shoebox swap and I've decided to sign up! Sounds like fun, and how can you pass up food, fellow stamper chat, and bringing home great new ideas all completed? I'm IN!!! Come join me!
If you need help with anything, organizing, making phone calls, food..just let me know..I'll help ya.
Thanks! It doesn't take much to organize. What we did the last time was, as the date got closer, I kept a list posted here of what everyone was going to bring to eat. That we knew we'd have a variety and there wouldn't be repeats, like 5 pans of brownies... not that there's anything wrong with that!
I am from Mt. Vernon. Would love to come and meet everyone!
I think it's about an hour and a half drive.
Linda
Yeah! Maybe when it gets closer there will be some others coming from your way that you could come with, too! The more the merrier! C'mon Buckeye Babes!!!
