Only a week and a half away - hoping to design my card this weekend with DH away and an entire Amish stamp store all to myself. Store sitting while Barbara is away. Can't wait!
Mary,
I am going to miss you! Hopefully will see you at the next one.
Cindy,
How fortunate ... I would be poor though after a week at Barbara's. I LOVE that store!!
Now for my not so great news ... I had to order some paper from SU for this swap ... I just got an email that my order has been delayed because it was damaged in a train derailment. Let's hope the replacement package gets here soon or I will have to create Plan B.
We are down to 10 days till our swap. Is everyone ready????? OK my cards is designed but I haven't cut everything yet. Soon I promise.
I have updated the list thru my post here.
Theresa (girlgonestampin) had something come up and has removed her self from the swap. Also, Mary B also has to back out. You both will be missed and I hope you can attend next time.
We still have 10 spaces left. I have had someone contact me about 2 spaces but she is checking with the 2nd person before comitting.
Hope the summer is starting out good for everyone.
Inky Hugs,
Kathy

I was asked if we were going to collect stuff at this swap like we have before. So I did a little checking around the local area and found someplace in need of donated items.
Sarah's House is a shelter located in Ft. Meade, Md, off base, and is a homeless shelter for families and has been helping those in need since 1987. Their list of needed items was long so I picked a few things we could concentrate on.
We will be collecting female monthly products and non perishable food.
We will have a separate drawing for food items and for female products.
1 ticket for each regular size non perishable food item donated.
1 ticket for each regular size box/package of female products you donate.
I will be drawing at least 1 winner from each collection and the winners will pick from the prizes I will provide that day. I promise there will be several to choose from and prizes may not all be stamping or scrapbook related.
I won't be drawing prizes for donating the following items, but if you have any of these that you want to donate, I will take them to Sarah's House also.
Wash Cloths
Towels
Trial Size or full size toiletries
Twin sheets
I plan on delivering the stuff to Sarah's House during the day either the Monday or Tuesday after the swap and anyone wanting to go with me is welcome.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Inky Hugs,
Kathy

Gee, Jane... Look out - mom likes mac n cheese too!
I don't like beating up older ladies but you know.............een I have my limits! Just tell her to watch out. ;)
Now, now Jane...Mom bruises very easily - maybe she needs some of the bubble wrap to protect her from YOU! She has no idea what she is getting into I am sure...

Maybe I should bring the bubble wrap just incase Jane gets out of hand with the Mac & Cheese.
Hey, maybe we should just wrap Jane up in it.... ;-) LOL

Hey Now, Slip out the back Jack, Hop off the bus Gus, Make a new Plan Stan....You don't need to discuss much... just get out of the way of my Mac-N-Cheese Please.
New song: Fifty ways to leave Jane and HER mac-n-cheese alone!!! Don't make me come after you
She said it grieves me so to see you in such pain
I wish there was something I could do to make you smile again
I said I appreciate that and would you please explain
About the fifty ways to leave my mac-n-cheese to me!
She said why don't we both just sleep on it tonight
And I believe in the morning you'll begin to see the light
Don't mess with the mac-n-cheese please
Just hop off the Bus.........

Ready???? Ha, I'm thinking I should design my card this weekend....starting to stress now.
I'm off Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week so I'll get to it then...I DO have an idea, just need to make up a sample and cut all the papers...shouldn't take too long...nothing like last minute! ;)
Mary & Theresa, I do admire your fearlessness! I am already in a sweat, have designed and semi-finished my Meade swap card! I don't have enough talent to wait till the last minute. I totally freak out. So looking forward to next week. I am at a conference Wednesday thru Friday and then a swap on Saturday! Fun time............mac-n-cheese!
And friends and cards and everything else.

I have closed the swap at 22 today. I still have never heard back from scrapdoodle (DebT) since her original post. If anyone knows her if you will ask her to contact me I would appreciate it.
We still have a few ladies that need to let me know what food items they will bring to share. Please look at the list for what is needed. I think that side dishes, deviled eggs, case of water, or something along those lines would be good.
I'm just about ready myself.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday.
Inky Hugs,
Kathy

Is it weekend yet? Seriously, can't wait to have some fun, this week has been a bear at work, and it's only Wednesday :(. Joann will second that I am sure. Anyway, my card is cut and bagged, but I am not all packed yet, but will be soon. Come on Saturday, indeed. Thoughts and prayers for Cindy and Fran.

Ok, it is Thursday night and my card is designed, cut, and bagged and I'm lovin' the way it came out! I just need to collect everything into my 'shoebox' and gather up my personal supplies. Gee, it isn't the night before at 11:59pm!
A little after 3:00 this morning, my grandmom passed on to a much better place. We left hospice around 9:30 last night, because the nurse said she was hanging on for us - that her love for us was too strong to let go. She said when Mom and I would go out for a walk that she could tell my grandmom's vitals would change drastically like she was trying to go, but then we'd come back and she'd get a wee bit stronger. So Mom, Dad, and I made the decision to leave, so she could finally be at peace. The nurse we really liked was working again last night, so we knew Nan-Nan was in good hands. Karen (the nurse) was super - she'd come in the room, give us hugs, walk out. Come back in and do that every so often. I can't say enough good things about Dove Hospice.
Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers during this past long week. I know they have helped me and Mom keep going. We're looking at Tuesday for the viewing and service, so please keep us in your prayers for a bit longer while we finalize the plans and say our goodbyes.
Mom and I are really gonna miss you all tomorrow. Have fun stamping and we hope to see you all at the next swap.
The hall is ready and so am I, well until I get up in the morning and attempt the famous Mac & Cheese that Fran always makes. This will be my first attempt so it is either going to be wonderful or not - LOL
See you all in the AM.
Kathy

How do you define special friends? Someone who goes out of their way to make the mac-n-cheese because they don't want a disappointed friend? Must say, it was fantastic and it meant even more because it was the effort of a friend!
Theresa, your card................ROARRRRRR! Loved it. I loved all the cards. It was a perfect day for stamping and it was good friends and good food and so much fun. I just can't say enough how special it is to be able to get together with good people. They lift you up and carry you along.
Cindy and Fran......you were lifted and carried the entire day. You were, are and will be in our thoughts. May your memories keep your grandma alive in your hearts forever. You were very missed and very thought of! I hope you enjoy all your cards as much as we enjoyed making them for you.
Thank you so much Kathy for another wonderful swap. You make it special.
