Christy,
I won't be able to make it to the SBS today - so sorry, and was looking forward to it. Something came up at my daughter's school which I have to attend. Hope to make it next year - keep me posted.
I thought of each of you yesterday. I hope you all had a ton of fun. I'm sorry I missed it, but dh's health right now is more important. Hopefully, I will be at the next one. BTW, my dh's heart cath went well. He has four days of testing the beginning of February before the doctor will make the decision to implant the mechanical heart.
I can't wait to see all the cards posted. I have already heard that they were all fabulous.

Just wanted to send a big THANK YOU to Christy for planning this shindig for us. The space was perfect, I ate way too much, chatted until my voice was hoarse and got my fingers nice and inky--in other words a perfectly crafty day!! Same time next month?!? :p

Great news, Sandy! I'll keep you and hubby in my prayers.
When I was little and stayed home from school sick I would look at the clock and think about what I was missing at school: math time, recess, etc. I found myself doing that all day yesterday! I'm looking foward to seeing the cards in the gallery and making later on.
Kudos to Christy for putting this altogether. Way impressed!
I just got back to Austin and had to sign in and tell everyone how much fun I had! Christy did a fabulous job putting this shindig together. Everything was perfect! And Christy's parents and hubby were such champs. They were so sweet! I had such a wonderful time meeting many new stampers and visiting with old friends that I hadn't seen in a long time. I laughed so much yesterday!
I had a blast as well. Even though I was a little under the weather, the day was perfect. I met such wonderful ladies and had a fabulous time! Christy, you did a great job - thank for putting this together. I'm ready for the next one (hopefully I won't be spreading too many germs around next time!)...
thanks again
Let me give a shout-out to Christy for making yesterday's shoebox swap in San Antonio absolutely fabulous!!! You cannot imagine what an incredibly amazing job she did ALL BY HERSELF unless you were there!!! So, do yourself a favor, and plan on being at the next one so you too can party like a rock star. . .
A huge thanks also goes out to Christy's family for making us all feel at home and for helping out in so many ways - timer, photographer, parts runner, etc. . .;)
Finally, to all of the stampers there, my sincerest thanks for sharing your creativity and conversation. It's always a blessing to chat with old friends and to meet new ones. Special hugs & kisses to Sarah, Julie, & Christy.

Christy, Thank you so much for all you did, even though some of us couldn't be there. I thought of all of you all day yesterday and tried to picture how you had everything all set up. I really wish I could have been there not only to meet new friends and meet up with old friends, but to have met your family as well. You are really the angel. I certainly hope that you continue this next year. I will once more plan on coming to it. I have never been to San Antonio except to fly through, so I would love to come and see your city. Again, thanks for all your hard work. Can't wait to see all the cards and can't wait to get mine so I can work on them.

Christy - thank you so much for all of your hardwork this weekend and in the last three months planning for this weekend. You did a great job and like Rae Anne said, I can't believe you did it all by yourself!! Thank you too, to your parents for letting us take over their space and their house for the day!
Dinner was great - I was one of the newbies that had never been to SA before, so it was fun to get to go down there and see some of the riverwalk!
Rae Anne - right back at ya!
Ladies - the talent and the cards were fantastic! I learned some new things, met some new people and had a wonderful time!
Now we have to see about maybe planning one in the Dallas area!
Several of you asked for the recipe of the cheese log I made for the swap. Here it is:
Pesto, Sun Dried Tomato, Cheese Log
1 lb. (2 pkgs) cream cheese
1 tsp thyme
2 cloves diced garlic
 cup sun dried tomatoes (chopped)
 cup pesto
Provolone cheese (at least 12 slices)
Line a 9 x 5 loaf pan with Saran Wrap. Line pan with slices of softened provolone cheese (including sides if pan) making sure there are no holes. Mix softened cream cheese, thyme, and garlic together in a bowl. Spread 1/3 cream cheese mixture in bottom of pan. Next , layer in sun dried tomatoes. Next, layer 1/3 cream cheese mixture. Next, layer pesto. Next, layer the remaining cream cheese mixture. Fold edges of provolone cheese onto top of loaf. Refrigerate overnight. Turn out upside down onto a serving plate and serve with crackers.
Two items didn't make it home with me from San Antonio. . .:(
I'm looking to see if anyone picked up a pair of Fiskars scissors (large orange handles, shorted blades) and an SU hole punch (3/16"). They should both be initialed with "RAS." Please PM me if you found them so we can arrange for me to get them back.
I don't have my Shoebox that I brought. And neither does my ride Terrie Lynn.
I really only want the stamp, acrylic block, and ink back whoever found the shoebox can keep the rest.
It is a clear shoebox with a blue lid. At the bottom of the shoebox are address labels for me. So you'd even be able to figure out how much it would cost to send it back to me. If anyone found it.

Hey Pole Ho!
Could you mail them back with the Michael's $1.00 swap? I could send some extra postage.

YUP! Will do....
You know....your hole punch might have got stuck in cpine's box, great4u, monlow2, or jane rexilius, PM them....because I remember there was three hole punche's at your table when I was there, they were swapping all over ...one of them might have them in the box, because your's were the same as I think cpine's ones..:-D

But I learned alot about what to do for the next one of these.
*Like to prepare everything...including doing most of the stamping.....
*I learned I hate ribbon...its hard to tie a bow on a tiny piece of ribbon. LOL So I will find a way to not have it on my cards......
*I learned a great idea for taking my roller stamps and make them where I can use them like a regular clear stamp.....wonderful idea.
*learned that I like Prisam markers....they don't smear the ink on the stamps.
*I liked the embossed cards.....might have to do that in the future....makes the stamp image look really fancy.
*I learned to NOT carry all of my tools....I want to get a tiny little holder and only carry glue, tape, scissors and such.
*I need to bring a camera next time...take a picture of each card, in case I can't get them all done on time.....then I can complete them here at home.
*I learned how much I enjoy getting to learn new ways of folding cards.....and I really really loved meeting the new ladies....well, at least you were new to me! LOL
Thanks for having me.....this was a wonderful event.

Christy, Thank you so much for the work and planning it took to get the SA shoebox swap officially started!! Thank your gracious parents for me for allowing us to barge in on them. I had so much fun and all the cards were great!! The food was yummy and the chocolate flowing!! Thanks again for being a grand hostess!!!
