I have been seeing post on splitcoast about the paper used for copic markers. Georgia Pacific ( GP 110) has come up alot. Does anyone know where to buy it and if it's the best to use for stamped images that will be colored.
Yes it is at Walmart in the Stationary section. I think it's called cardstock and it was just with the other large packages of paper. It's only around $6 for 250 sheets (I think that's the size...could be more!!)
that would also explain why i thought the gp white cardstock paper i got at walmart was the shat.....i didn't get the same one that was linked. on to search (still!) for the perfect white paper for card bases!
I picked up some of the white 110# GP from Walmart and there is NO WAY that it is actually 110# thickness. I was rather disappointed and shocked at how thin it was! I pretty much gave most of the paper to my son to use to color on.....I have saved the rest just for image stamping and layering and would never use it a card base- much to thin and flimsy. I just wonder how they can claim that is it 110# when it's sooooo obvious that it's not even close!!
If you are looking for a nice sturdy cardstock for card bases, GP isn't what you want. You will probably want something like PaperTrey or GinaK papers. GinaK makes a 120# paper that is REALLY nice and thick and perfect for card bases. It also works very well with Copics and you can color on it and the ink won't soak through to the back. (Which is normal and okay on most other papers.)
Also... GP cardstock is a very soft cardstock and can be tricky to use with Copics... especially if you are just starting out. Because it's so soft, it soaks up ink quickly and can cause feathering that you won't have to worry about with some other brands. I personally love GP... but it's what I learned on and am comfortable with... but I usually don't recommend it as the best paper to start out with.

Colleen, I've already received my order of white CS from Gina K!! It is sooo smooth, and just yummy to work with! I also purchased the PTI sampler CS pack...which I love!! In my cart at the Sam's club website, I have the envies...and a punch...I was just wondering what else everyone usually purchases thru the Sam's website...I know you can get some great deals there!! Thanks sooo much!! Your advise was much appreciated, and I was wondering what other goodies people purchase from there?
So what else do you guys purchase thru the Sams Club website???? What goodies...er...I mean, what essentials do you buy??? TIA!
That's about all I purchase from Sam's club- just my white card stock and my envelopes. Oh and I just remembered that my hubby bought me a really nice pack of 12 x 12 patteren paper. It had some really nice designs in it. I have seen two different packs of the 12 x 12 pp at Sam's, but the one my hubby bought me was pretty nice.
I have both of the 12 x 12 pp that my local Sam's sells. The link below is one of them that I have. I'm not too crazy about this package of pp, but I do use it (although I wouldn't buy it again). It was $19.99.
Okay, I couldn't find a link, but here is a picture of the other pack of 12 x 12 paper that my husband bought me. Now this pack was also $19.99, but it hubby got it for $9.99 because it was particially opened. I like the prints on this one a lot better.
Wow Patty!! that paper your hubby found for you is ssooo pretty!! Love it!! I have a couple of things in my Sams cart....just wanting to know if there's anything else I should add??? K
