Over the 20+ years that I have been a stamper I have owned more stamps than I care to admit (I consider my stamping the same way hubby thinks of his yearly fishing trip to Alaska. We enjoy and we move on!).
So I do not keep every stamp I have ever owned (thank heavens).
I purchase, stamp, enjoy, donate, repeat..
That being said I have a few sets I will never part with:
Toile Blossoms
Tidy Alphabet
Botanicals
Best of Cluck
Sentiment Sampler from Paper Smooches
Loads of Love--but that one is getting closer to the door.
WHAT stamps will you never part with??

I do keep all my retired stamp sets! I've been making lots of baby thank yous over the past 5 months or so (2 new grandbabies), and the ones I keep going back are:
Baby Firsts
Wild About You
And for sentiments, Sincere Salutations.
I have tons more, but those are the ones that come to mind right now!! :-)
Great thread, btw! :-)

I am sure there are others but the two that come to mind immediately are
Lovely as a Tree and Serene Sunflower.
For greetings: Sincere Salutations for sure and probably Perfectly Penned. I am starting to really like the greetings in Express Yourself and Simply Sketched, both hostess sets in the current catalog.
But I keep most of my sets. I don't have all that many and they're mainly sentiments, holiday themed and elements that work for backgrounds. I have-at the moment-2 floral sets.

I forgot about Lovely as a Tree--it is a keeper and one of my favorites!

These are the first that come to mind: Coast to Coast, French Foliage, Medallion, Baroque Motifs, Canvas, and my Scripture stamps that never grow old!
I'm trying to work my way through using all (or as many as I can) my stamp sets this year and I'm sure there are more that are definite keepers, but I'm also hopeful to find some along the way that I'm willing to pass on.
I will say my NEVER will part with is current...I will never get rid of Gorgeous Grunge...I literally use that stamp ALL the time! I have used it on multiple projects on my blog. Great to add a little interest. Not good at spray misting...PERFECT ink splatters EVERY time!!! I love this stamp set!!!!

I'm kinda the odd ball stamper huh???
I love that spatter too and I use the lines all the time as well....itty bitty bg and French Foliage get pulled and used for their spatter as well! I guess I'm an odd ball too!
I love this topic! My newest can't live without is zoo babies but I'm fickle so favorites come and go. My cant part without holiday stamp in snow swirled.
Gorgeous grunge and lovely as a tree are both beautiful too. Great choices all around
I won't part with teeny tiny wishes, lovely as a tree, circle circus or any of my Christmas sets! On the other hand, I'm still trying to remember why I ever bought Have a Seat! I don't think I've inked that up except maybe once...

I love Coast to Coast and am kicking myself for not buying it. My set is Yukon, hubby is a hunter so that is perfect for him and I really love those stamps and haven't found better ones. I need to find a good sentiment set for boy(teen) cards.
I will never, ever again sell an alphabet set, I really miss the ones I sold over the years. I will always keep and use funkier bold flower images and religious images and sentiments. I keep all my Christmas stamps, too, but this year the old ones did not see ink. Maybe next year!

This thread makes me so happy. My friend has Dasher and I've borrowed it extensively around the holiday. Any sets I don't know, I've been googling. I'm not the only one that does that, right?

Phew, I thought I was the ONLY one doing that....LOL! ;)
have you noticed most the stamps listed are from SU?
I think the ones I will keep forever are pretty much the Botanical PSX and the scenes and quite a few of the sentiment sets...
the ones that get old after a while are the ones that lean on the "cute" side. I have never thought of my own taste's as cute but, I have built up a collection of that style over the years teaching my self to color... and some of them have gotten "old" to me. also some of the solid shape stamps, I have pared that part of the collection way down/back because, my own impulse at the moment is to create a solid shape with a die rather than a stamp anymore.
and I own most of the scene/botanical/sentiment older sets already listed in this thread.
The first one that comes to mind is Wild Wild West.... it was given to me as a gift by a friend I made here on SplitCoast, who has now passed on... bless her, dear VivLyn.
Of course, i don't get rid of many of my stamps. that could be why i need an addition built onto my room! Haa!!
I really only buy what I love, so really, all of them! I have refined my taste over the years and don't really follow the trends so I don't buy something unless I love it. For instance the Occasions flyer has nothing in it for me.
Ok I will be keeping all my Gina K, LOTV, House Mouse, Verve, TSG, Unity, Flourishes, WRS, MFT Pure Innocence.....ummmmm....yes my name is Lee and I have an addiction! ;) :p
Lovely As A Tree, French Foliage for sure. Soon I think I'll be able to say that all are keepers. I've really gotten a good sense of what I like and I'm getting much more conscious of what I purchase.
lovely as a tree, but then I don't think SU will ever retire it. ;) I hope they never do.
roses in winter. I did sell my first set, but then I missed it so much I bought another set.
itty bitty backgrounds
bow wow
I am sure there are more.
I forgot teeny tiny wishes, love love love that one!

Hi!
I have all the stamps I ever purchased, or were gifted to me. I also have stamps from friends who have quit stamping and gave me their stamp collections. If I were to count how many single images I have it is close to 10,000. Yikes, but as of right now I have the space and I do not have to give them up. They are all unmounted (even the valuable PSX and SU ones), because I do not plan on letting them go.
Keepers for me are the PSX flowers and Santa Face
SU's Wolf, Lovely as a Tree, background stamps, Stella the Stamper, The Egyptian Set with matching background, to name a few
Annticipation, Denami Designs, Hero Arts, Circus,Circus, When Pigs can Fly, and Posh Impression stamps are also keepers.
I could never part with Button Bear; even though he's not my style anymore, it was the very first stamp set I ever purchased, and I used it for EVERY occasion for probably my first year stamping! I even have the very first card I made with that set (horribly faded now) still tacked up on the bulletin board in my stamp room!
And of course, many of the others already listed here: Lovely as a Tree, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Sincere Salutations, Artfully Asian, all of the All Year Cheer sets...
I have a hard time parting with my stamp sets; there have been many times that I've sold or given away a set that I thought I'd never use again, only to ask for it back - does this mean I am a hoarder?! ;)
