I don't have an answer about how to make your own cleaner for Staz-on, but I will offer this tidbit: most of the time I don't use Staz-on cleaner to clean up after using Staz-on! I have some, I just hardly use it. I find that if I clean my stamp right away with baby wipes (what I use to clean ALL my stamps), it comes right off. The key is RIGHT AWAY--as in as soon as I finish stamping the image on cardstock. Hope this saves you some money.
I wipe off all the ink I can right away on a baby wipe, then I spritz a dab of Ultra Clean on a paint pad or synthetic chamois and they clean right up!

I've had problems with the cleaners making my clear stamps less tacky - some to the point that they don't stick properly to the clear blocks anymore. I decided I'd rather have slightly stained stamps than unusable ones and I've taken to stamping off the excess on cardstock and/or using a wipe immediately after use.
