I've found the only really successful way is just to trim it off.

I'm usually able to get it off with my nails easily after a page is removed... are you wanting to remove it from the entire pad at once?

Sometime this works but no guarantees. Pull off the front cover and back cover chipboard and that usually let me be able to grab the adhesive so I pull it all off at one time.

Like Dina, I generally take out one page at a time, often removing the front cover to get it started. So much easier to either peel the binding adhesive off one page at a time. Have used my hard fingernails to "scrape tiny pieces, or even drag/push away with ah adhesive remover (about 1.75" square item similar to a square of adhesive 'goop').

(I know ... not the best description, but it's pretty accurate!) ;)

thanks all for your ideas! shaz, you use a scissors? and you manage not to destroy the paper edge in the process? for those who use their fingers, im assuming that's not a fast or easy or especially neat method, right? oh, well. i guess im going to have to give up on the hope that there is a quick, easy way to get it off!
