I just wanted to share a wonderful experience I had with someone from this community. For privacy purposes, the only identification I will mention is that her name is Connie.
I had contacted her about buying some stamps from her BST listing. She pm'd me back saying that she would include payment instructions with the package. My first thought was she was pretty amazing to trust a virtual "stranger".
Well, when I received the package the "payment instruction" was a RAK (Random Act of Kindness). I was pretty stunned. The RAK came just a few days after the New Year. It surely made my day after I started out on New Year's Eve not feeling well and then suffering a migraine on New Year's Day.
We have such a wonderful, caring, generous community here....helping others when they're down, sharing their thoughts and ideas, inspiring others, or just "listening". Of course I thanked her in private for her kindness and generosity, but I also wanted to give her a public shout out. So, Connie....thank you for being so AWESOME!!
And...thank you to all the other SCSers who make this community so special.
I think your story is wonderful. With the news so full of heartache and terror its so so nice to hear a really uplifting story. Connie made your day and you made mine, thank you.
Brenda, so happy you were blessed like that, because I know for a fact you're a sweetheart yourself. You should post your story on this thread. (I just came across it the other day.)
This is the exact reason why I love SCS so much! The kindness, the generosity, and the downright best people anywhere! Best website for ideas, help (very generous help), instruction, tutorials, and enabling ever in the world for this craft! It's the best place to get advice. Funny thing that happens to me when I visit here. Sometimes when I'm a little down, I just come here and by reading posts like this I get uplifted!
Brenda, hope you don't mind, but I shared your "RAK thank you" on that thread I mentioned above. XOX
Thanks, Pammie! Just posted over there. I didn't realize that thread existed. I'll have to go back and read up on that thread when I have a bit more time. I lost my second "mom" (my best friend's mom who I've known for almost 30 years) to cancer earlier this week. It's been an emotionally and physically draining week.

Isn't it the greatest feeling and most wonderful surprise? I have been a recipient of a RAK three times and it's absolutely amazing. All three times it just floored me!
I too have received a few sweet surprises. Barbara Jay sent me some clear blocks and another kind soul sent me a brand new package of Dewert watercolor pencils. Seems like there was something else but I cant recall what it was.
I live sending stuff to others here who can use it.
Blessings.
Thank you for saying "thank you" for RAKs! I have sent them in the past and it is always disheartening when you never hear from your recipient- sometimes I did not even know if the RAK was received! Your post was so lovely to read so thanks for sharing
