What size cards do you typically make? I recently met with an SU demo and she said she makes invitation size cards. But all the photos that I see here, seem to be larger, is that the case???
I usually make 4.25 by 5.5. That way you get two cards from on sheet of 8.5 x 11 CS. On occasion I will make a different size.
Case stands for Copy And Share Everything. If you see something you like you would take a few elements from it and put it into your own style and make a different card.
I make mine 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (invitation size). I think the photos in the gallery just makes them look larger sometimes. I'm sure some are bigger but I think the majority are the invitation size.
I've been trying to put card size on my blog when I remember. I tend to make larger than notelet/invitation sized cards so it does matter because it shows the size of the stamp or embossing in relation. I have been surprised by how few people tell what size card they are showing but then again I don't always remember!
I typically make invitation size too, but waht other std. sizes are there that are larger? I do see square cards, etc and would love to know the dimensions and where you get the envelopes for them. I love my 4.25 x 5.5 size, but want some variety too!

I also typically make 4.25 x 5.5 (inch) cards. But I also make cards that are twice as big... 5.5 x 8.5 (just one sheet folded in half).
Recently I just bought a big box of envelopes that were made for 5 x 7 cards, so occasionally I'll make a 5 x 7 card. And then I just found a box of 1000 envelopes that I had bought 15 years ago (back when I mailed all my bills) that are 3 5/8 x 6.5 so occasionally I'll make cards for these envelopes too.
If I remember to, I'll start putting measurements on odd-shaped cards (the ones that are not the typical 4.25 x 5.5).
I most often do the standard invitation size, since you can get 2 cards from one piece of cardstock that way. And also, that size envie is easy to find.
I've made a few that are larger, and some square, but not very often.

I also, usually do 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 as do all of my stampin friends. Love getting two cards from one sheet of CS. I feel like most SU stamps are designed for this size. I love 3 x 3s too, and really only do larger if someone asks for it (like if lost of people have to sign).

Well 8.5 x 5.5 as that is cardstock folded.
Then there are square cards out of 12x12 cardstock cut in half then folded half creating a 6x6 card.

I get my square envelopes in multiple sizes at Hollos (awesome paper store in Ohio), but you can also put square cards into any "standard" rectangular card. I've done that before, too. For example, a 4x4 inch square card would fit into an A2 (invitation size) envelope. Then you also don't have to pay extra postage.
I make the standard invitation size because like others have stated you can get two cards out of a piece of card stock and the envelopes are easy to find.
Wow, I am surprised that the standard is so small. But I guess it works. I am going to have to try and make that size and see how I like it. Thanks for all your replies, now ....

4.25" square
3.25" x 6.5" (this is the SU small long envelope size)

Thanks Bonnie. I am actually going to Hollos in a couple weeks. I can not wait. Just need to carve out the time to go. I'm about 45 minutes away but I want to have plenty of time to browse. Good to know they also have envelopes.

I send every card I make to someone.
I belong to a Birthday Club on another stamp board, and each month we all send birthday cards to the members with birthdays that month. That's lots of fun, especially when your own birthday month comes and you get lots of cards!
I have a large extended family - 5 grown kids and spouses, and 17 grandchildren, and 2 "greats" so that's lots of birthday cards just in our family.
I also make lots of "Thinking of You" type cards and keep in touch with friends I used to work with and don't see often anymore.
You'd be surprised at all the folks that would love to get a handmade card.

When I first started making the 41/4 x 5 1/2 size cards, they seemed too small but now they feel just right. I always assume the cards in the gallery are that size unless otherwise stated. I like the 6x6 size too, but hate that they take extra postage. I did make a tall card this week, the size that fits in a standard business envelope. Variety is nice.
