Default coloring rubber stamped images

Monique, First of all, welcome! I am in the same boat as you, almost. I've been rubber stamping cards for years and am just now trying to get into some scrapbooking!

I use colored pencils on my black-inked projects. Some images look okay without coloring in, but an image like you described would look better colored in. Something I have recently tried is stamping my image (say of a flower or other simple design) in Versamark and then rubbing chalk over it using a Q-tip. The finished product looks so pretty!

Have fun!

Annette

You can color them with markers, ink and blender pens (my favorite), blender pen with chalks, Versamark with chalk, watercolor pencils and aquapainter, .....there are so many options. Play with them and find what you like.

It is really nice to see all the options for coloring in person so you could see if your local scrapbooking or stamping store has any classes or use the Stampin Up or TAC or CTMH demonstrator locators and find someone there to help

Good luck with your new addiction or rather hobby;)

There are already lots of great ideas. My preference is to use the aquapainter - put some water in the barrel, then "dip" the wet (damp) brush on the point of a watercolor pencil, or use a tiny bit of reinker.

If you click on the "resource" button, top right hand corner of the SCS page - there are descriptions of some coloring techniques - though some are more advanced. There might be some discussion in the technique forum, also.

Taking a class or going to a demonstration is also a good idea, if you have something available.

I love to colour in with watercolour pencils and a blender pen, my second favourite is using markers. Make sure your stamped image is done in a permanent ink if you are going to blend inside the lines so that the image doesn't smudge

I love images that need to be colored, all listed techniques above are great!

What I also use is:
-twinkling H2Os
-stamping on a sheet of watercolored paper and cut out the images
-stamping on PP, great way to use your scraps too: scrap flowers

If you're going to use watercolors or markers, your ink has to be waterproof (Memories black, Versafine Onyx Black, India Black,...) or heat embossed. Well, I heat emboss my Versafine ink too, as you can see here: Fall Decoration

Sorry, that's a lot of links. Just have fun with your stamping

Take a ink pad squeeze it while closed to get ink on lid...Then take your blender pen dip and color very easy..Almost like watercoloring and if you use watercolor paper you can blend a little more i think???correct me if I'm wrong ladies!!!
