I LOVE snowman stamps. Living in Wisconsin I made many snowman cards for Christmas cards, just because cards, and so on.
Now we live in Alabama and we do not get any snow. I am thinking snowman themed cards should now just be reserved for my Northern friends?
Am I right on this?
I know its an odd question but I am still in adjustment mode to living in the South as things are different but I love it.
I grew up in southern California where we got snow exactly ONCE when I was in eighth grade, and still loved all things snow/snowman at Christmas. I lived in upstate New York for nearly 23 years (off and on) and got more of the stuff than was ever welcome, but still loved all things snow/snowman at Christmas. I now live in Las Vegas where snow is incredibly rare (rain, too), and....yup! still love all things snow/snowman at Christmas. Make what you want and send it to whoever you want, say I!
I live in Alabama and send lots of snowman cards to my southern friends and family. They are my favorite to make....LOVE snowmen. In my area of Bama, we do get snow..some years we get none and some years just a dusting. We have been known to get 10-11 inches at a time. Of course, not that often.Have fun with those snowman stamps. :-)

I think you have to play with what you love to play with. those people who are gifted with your creations are going to love them no matter what you send to them. even if they dont have the words to express that thought.
so, if the voices tell you to stamp snowmen, stamp snowmen
I agree with the above and great point about beach images! Same could be said for mountains.
As NEster, I promote images of fun snow/winters. Why tell them the truth? LOL.
Oh, I genuinely love winter and snow! In fact, I wish we lived farther north so I could experience more of it. All my favorite things are winter-related (jeans, sweaters, soups and stews, hot cocoa and hot tea, etc.).
Having recently moved from central Ohio (fair bit of snow), to central Florida (hahaha), I was kind of wondering the same thing, so thanks for asking! For our first Christmas in Florida, I did a rather unconventional flamingo card because I thought friends and family would get a kick out of it... but I still have lots and lots of snowmen crafty stuff that I'd like to be able to use.
Honestly, I've been trying to think of a creative way to make them seem appropriate. I thought about putting them inside of a snowglobe. Or trying to make some sort of funny card with a snowman sweating on a beach... or something. I'm still working out the kinks on these ideas, LOL. But maybe I'm over-thinking it. (I've been known to do that... a LOT.)

We get enough snow for snowmen about once every ten years here - and I think that snowmen, along with birds, are one of the things you can never have too many of in your stamp collection - so I say use them. After all, we used to get cards from my great-aunts in Canada every Christmas with cardinals on them - and we sure don't get cardinals here in Ireland but I loved those cards!
Sabrina, besides snowmen, I am such a bird lover. I love receiving snowmen cards whether we have snow or not. I think just about everyone loves a snowman.

I agree with everyone else has been saying........use the snowman stamps and send the snowman cards :p
I've lived in San Diego for 35 years now and any chance of seeing snow here is slim to none. I have a lot of snowman stamps and use them as much as I can!

When I move states, I'll move to The Villages, 😄😄😄

I live in Alabama and I send snowman stamped cards. Not only that but at Christmas my kitchen is decorated in snowmen and I leave them up until February.
I have a shirt given to me from my daughter in Alabama and it is "dirtman". color your snowman stamps like the "red dirt" of Alabama. I collect snowmen. Did "sandmen" in florida.
Cute ideas! I know someone sells a stamp set with Santa in swim shorts... might have to hunt that one down.
I happen to live in The Villages. I have been here for over 10 years. I love to send out snowmen cards to anyone, even those in FL. I did do cards a couple of times for a client (25 of them) with a tropical theme. For the first one, the outside had a small pale santa face and it said Ho Ho Ho. Don't know why but the file is corrupted and I couldn't put it here. Here is a pic of the inside...
The second one is of a decorated palm tree. I got so sick of doing so many of these cards!
I am not sure why there is a size difference.
Snowmen and Snowwomen are cute!!! I have grown up in snowy areas, Iowa, Colorado and now I live in Missouri. Iowa always had snow in Winter. Colorado was almost always Winter. Missouri has much less Winter as I live near St Louis. We do have Winter though.
I have always loved Snowmen and women! They are super cute! I say in Winter, send out the snowmen cards even though there may not be snow on the ground!! They are adorable on doorsteps, porches, and anywhere it's considered Winter! They make Sand Snowmen on beaches. So make a cute snowman out of material that is natural to your environment and let it Snow, let it Snow, let it Snow!!!'
I have decided That yes snowmen cards and crafts are going to be made Thank you all for helping out on this.
As I said Alabama is a big difference than Wisconsin. I am loving it all though. I really love snowmen but I do NOT miss the Wisconsin winters so now I can really enjoy the snowmen and winter themed stamps without actually living in it! LOL
Everybody has a favorite holiday/winter thing and it doesn't matter the weather, just use it because you love it! It's cyclical, like all things. Snowmen, penguins, cute woodland critters, elves, Santa and others have all had their time to be "the" thing for Christmas. I'm not crazy for snowmen, which puts me in the minority. In older SU! catalogs I could count at least 20 different ones. My thing is reindeer and nordic motifs which no one in SoCal got for the 20 years I lived there. Now I'm in Colorado where people seem to get it.

If you adore snowmen stamps & cards ... make & send snowmen cards! It's your paper art, your gift of self to the recipient, your time given to the creative sharing. ;)
I live in Australia and it is summer at Christmas-time - and do I put snowmen, other critters related to snow, snowflakes or snowy scenes on my Christmas cards??? Yep, you betcha! And these are mostly cards going to friends and family in Australia. If you love those types of images, use them and enjoy them.
As someone who has never experienced snow at Christmas, I like getting cards with snow related images. It's probably as close to a white Christmas as I'll ever get.Dea
Reading through this thread reminded me of something from my childhood that I hadn't thought about for quite awhile. The vacant lot behind my house growing up (new subdivision in southern California) was full of tumbleweeds. We used to make "snowmen" out of those...
For 45 years I lived in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon where we got snow from November through May (snow on the 4th of July was not unheard of) and often had it on the ground through June. I love snowmen and decorated a whole shelf with snowmen of different media and left them up through February. When we recently moved to Southern Arizona, I decided I would probably not decorate with snowmen (smaller house, so that kind of space would be at a premium, anyway). I gave them to a friend in Oregon who I knew would give them a good cold home. I made Christmas cards with snowy trees, snowflakes and snowmen all through those years and sent them to friends and relatives that lived in So. CA and So Texas and never heard a complaint. Now that I'm here, I've had the same question run through my mind---should I stop using snow-themed Christmas cards? I made all poinsettias the first Christmas (very Christmassy, but also very So. AZ). Last year I did all holly cards and this year plan on doing mistletoe (grows everywhere here). I did mistletoe in Oregon, too, but none grew around us, and thought nothing of it. So why am I stressing about snowy trees and snowflakes? I don't have any idea. Thanks for this thread as I may decide now to use some of my beloved snowflake stamps again. Had been thinking about giving them away, but now may hold onto some of them.

I have lived in South Florida and now Central Florida for over 30 years and I have never given a thought when I send snowmen Christmas cards. I don't think it matters where you live or where the recipient lives...snowmen are snowmen and they are cute and I don't know a single person who doesn't like them! Send them out!!
