New SU Catty - Any Non Demos Seen It?
I know all the demos are promising that the new catty is their favorite in a long time, best they've seen in years, etc. I also know and understand that they can't really talk about it.
Okay, so I was wondering if anyone that's NOT A DEMO has seen a copy? Perhaps you may have seen a copy at your demo's house...certainly not because you broke in to her house when she wasn't there in your enthusiasm to see it...ha! If you have seen it, what are your impressions? What did you like the best about it? Were there any stamp sets that got you all hot and flustered with excitement? If so, spill it sister....uh, I mean, ah, would you kindly please share your thoughts and impressions? Seriously, I'm just dying to know, so THANKS!
I saw it, just flipped through it. I am not impressed. I saw a lot of the same old stuff. I really don't care for any of the hostess sets. The one thing I did like were the new colors. They look fabulous in the print. I doubt I'll be buying many stamps, if any, from this catalog, but I will stock up on the new paper.

I have seen the new catty, LOVE the new lay-out and there are 7 MUST HAVE (for me) set in it! I love some of the new punches too!
Only 2 hostess sets that really thrilled me.
- No rub-on's
- DSP is changing to set by color group, not 1 pack per color.
- new case for blocks! (Another must have)
All in all, I like what I saw... can't wait to get my copy and start making a list! lol
I haven't seen it yet and am sorta patiently waiting for it to arrive. I hope there are some decent level 1 hostess sets because July is my hostess month. I didn't like any of them from the last catty which is why i picked July. I'm really only interested in the new punches...anyone what to tell me more?????
The new punches I do love, because they are making them like fiskars, flat, also they do have the best cases for the new punches that is something I do want.

I have seen the new catalog and I wasn't in love with it. There are some nice stamps, but really nothing I just have to have. I will be picking up a set of their acrylic blocks though. I tried them at my demo's house and they are fantastic!
What a great idea to post this thread, Leisa!! I am always anxious to see the new catalog ~ and I like hearing from the non-demos to satisfy my curiosity!
I saw the catalog at my demo's house yesterday. Love the new colors, in-colors, punches - the CUTEST owl punch (as big as the bird punch), the punch storage cases, the acrylic block storage case, some of the DP (can't remember which!!). Love the new layout. Stamps - there were some good ones but it was just too much to take in to remember names. I must admit, though, the Christmas sets were either old or not worth having. There is a cute new Halloween set. Some of the level 1 sets are good and worth having - there is a 6" paper pack in there again. I'm counting the days untill I get my own copy - probably by this time next week!! Then I can really sit down and make my wish list. My first order will have to be some of the new colors - ink and cardstock. Pity I have to be on a budget!!!

Thanks for the info. Can you share more about the Level 1 sets, if you remember?
I saw the catalog last weekend and really liked it better than the last catalog - there was nothing that impressed me with the last catalog. I think the new colors are fun and I loved the projects they showed. I don't stamp a lot, but I love paper crafting. I'm excited to get some of the new paper and I hope my sister gets some of the stamps so I can play with them occasionally. the one that really excited me was the one that coordinates with the milk carton die - she has the die so I hope she gets the stamp set to go with it.
I also quickly flipped through my demo's catty. For the level one set, I THINK it's a flowery stamp that coordinates with the blossom punch, the one with three flower sizes. It's cute!
I am a hobby demo, and got the new catalog last week. There is one holiday set I really want, a few of the new colors to stock up on, and some embossing folders to try out. It's a nice catalog, I hope my few customers will go crazy over enough stuff during Sale a Bration.
i saw it yesterday. saw a coffee/tea set that is a must have. saw maybe one or two other sets that are possibilities but can't remember what they were.
love the new colors. definitely going in the paper/marker direction on that.
one thing new i noticed is that if a punch works with an item in the set, it is listed along with the description of the set. not sure if that is on new sets only or on all sets that have corresponding punches.
i do wish SU would get smart about listing what stamps are new in the catalog in the stamp index. wouldn't take much, just a small symbol or letter. as a SU user for many years, i am only interested in the new stuff that comes out. the other stuff, i either have or have no interest in.
i also saw the acrylic block case. definitely a must have.

marking the stamps as new in the index is a great idea. As a customer, would you like to suggest that to SU? If you'd like to, here's the email address [email protected]

I saw it a couple of weeks ago and am forgetting the specifics. But I do remember being impressed!
I did notice about the patterns dsp being in color group packs. I am going to love that!
All the punches are available in the new style.
Ribbons are several styles in all the same group of colors. Don't think I am to enthused about that.
As for the stamps, I saw a bunch of really neat ones. But I have to spend a good bit of time with the catty to be able to decide what I NEED.
I have to say that the layout of the catty is STUPENDOUS!

You can't see the level one hostess sets because we can't pre order them. I think they figure we will earn them so no need to pre order. I don't ususally like the level ones (or many of them anyway) and I like ALL of them this year! So, it's just different strokes for different folks!
Now, to decided which ONE I want first:-)
And I have a question for Deb, I didn't get your post about the DSP and colors???? Can you elaborate??? And I "think" there are a FEW rub ons...catty isn't handy right now. PLUS, don't forget that they tend to add stuff like that in the minis as well!
I saw it at Stamp Club last night and there are a few nice sets----one with lots of bird cages, one with wild animals (large buffalo, an eagle, and a wolf head, I believe), a new cowboy one that was kind-of neat.
The new owl punch is multilayered. The pretties kit stuff can now be purchased separately (white flowers only, etc.), buttons, brads, new flower shaped brads, etc. are being sold by color family/group.
I'm not impressed with the new in-colors, but to each their own. One of the Level One hostess sets is a bunch of square stamps which I liked. It's supposed to go with a new petal card punch, but I didn't like the punch, just the stamps : )

You girls do know that they do put a N next to the item, in the catalog part if it is new....right before all the numbers....

Thanks Minders.
Its good to know when the minis are coming out so you can plan your spending.
(I have not yet worked out how to quote. There is a little box beneath where I am typing that says "quote message in reply" but nothing happens when I click on it)

Yeah...I try to plan my spending...try to spend it all, LOL! I do kind of feel like it's just always crazy because it seems like a mini is always coming out....and lately I've been getting a TON out of the minis....being a demo, I'll have like one month of the new catty and then get the mini in August *sigh* :-)
That's strange about the quote thing. You should be able to click it in the post you'd like to quote and then it should bring it up in the reply box and then away you type....anyone have any ideas???? I'm NOT computer savvy, LOL!

Now I see it. Its the "quote" button in the message that you want to quote.
Just trying to see if it works, but it doesn't appear to have the blue shaded box around the quoted part??

You must click on the quote button in the bottom right of the person's post that you want to quote. It will automatically pop up a reply box for you with the quote already in it. BTW - You can also quote only part of a post, as I've done with yours. You just leave in what you want between the quote brackets.

Back to topic....an owl punch....yippee!!! I am all excited. I've also heard through the grapevine that the card samples have been stepped up in the new catty. Can't wait to see. Also, it sounds like there are lots of impressive new stamp sets mixed in with the carryovers. And I am so excited to see the new designer papers!!! It won't be long now, it won't be long now, it won't be long now!!!!

Thanks LeisaJane. I think I have it now. BTW sorry to have hijacked the thread.
My demo let me see her copy and I loved it! I have not been impressed the last couple of catalogs but I really liked this one. I can't remember specifics but I know there were lots of sets I want..whether I NEED them or not is another thing..but I want several.
