Must share the x excellent customer service I received from Penny Black. I received "happy thoughts" as a gift and one word in a sentiment was pinched or mismolded letters. I e-mailed them late friday and received an answer on Monday asking for my address with an immediate reply to tell me a replacement was in the mail. I am on the East coast and They sent from the West coast and it was in my dungeon ready to play with by Thursday. I thank them privately and publicly for Great products and designs and a company that stands behind their products.
That's great to hear. I've never had to contact Penny Black customer service, but I have many Penny Black stamps and they are among my most used! I love her critters!
P.S. Is there really a real Penny Black, or is it just a company name?

The person who answered me was named Susan Sandler so I am only guessing it is a company name.
I was curious and looked around on the internet and answered my own question. There seem to be many talented artists who've designed the Penny Black stamps through the years.

I purchased a Penny Black birdcage with bird die set from Frugal Stamper in Jan. with the plan to use it for anniversary cards in the spring. When I used it it cut nicely for 4 times. Then it cut great but the die cut WOULD NOT come out of the die. I tried and tried but no way would it work. Tried different papers, turning this way and that, drier sheets, new plates and finally gave it all to a friend to try. Nothing worked. So I contacted Frugal Stamper and explained the whole saga. Told FS that it was a Penny Black die. She went and checked and returned to tell me that they would call PB and she would get back to me. She called the next day and Penny Black contacted me and sent me a new die. That is great customer service.
