Default ideas for a v-day gift for 4th graders

my daughter just started her student teaching this month. I thought I could make her a small token for each of her students from her. Any ideas. I imagine there are over 20 students so I want to keep it small. The one idea i had was a nugget per student with a cute label.
anything else? TIA

Pencils? You can get cute V-Day pencils at the $$ Store. "You've got the "write" stuff to be my Valentine!"

So many people these days are very cautious about food gifts, especially candy for children. Be sure to find out if that's okay before you invest in it.

Maybe some sort of non-consumable would be better.

Here's a cute idea that you could make with Valentine pencils from the $$ store:

I, too, help out my daughter with items for her second graders. For Valentine's Day I cut a 2X6 piece of paper and added Sent with Love DSP cut with the heart border so the hearts pop up. I attached three dollar store pencils, tied with a bow, with larger glue dots. If they are careful they can unattach the pencils and still have a bookmark. For Christmas I made magnetic bookmarks using Cookie Cutter Christmas and ribbon.

Nice age. They can do for themselves!

Remember the old crepe paper flowers on a pipe cleaner we used to make as kids? I think they are old enough to do that.

Make some bases, maybe backed with doilies and stamp fun images like AI on a layer and let them color them and stick it on with DS tape. Attach a safety pin and they can either wear them (teacher does too) or to give to parents.

Ck Oriental Trading...big go to for me for inexpensive kid stuff. They have free ship and a sale on Vday stuff now.

Our county doesn't allow candy/food to be given out in the elementary schools, so my boys have given out pencils or bubbles every year. We usually attach it to a handmade card/tag. They sell Valentine's themed pencils/bubbles @ Target/Walmart at a very reasonable price. Just attach a cute tag & you're done. You might want to double check the number of students so you don't get stuck with a lot of extras...at least with extra chocolates, you can just eat it

I know our school district doesn't allow candy, but she said her teacher was giving a hershey kiss as incentives, so I guess they don't mind the candy thing.

My DDIL teaches grade 2-3. Last year I bought plastic 12" rulers at the dollar store (3/$1) and mounted them on a long piece of red cardstock (use slits to insert ruler). I fastened a piece of Valentine DP (approx 6" long) over the top with the greeting 'YOU RULE' stamped on it. Decorate with lots of stickers and hearts. Sorry I don't have a photo but I hope you get the idea.

i like that one too. I think I am going to go with funny monster corner bookmarks. I am thinking some of the kids might give each other $ store pencils and rulers. She has 25 students in her class

  • Pencil-Pen 'wraps' similar to candy bar wrappers? Cute Valentine image or tag atop. Same idea could include other inexpensive "supply" items the students often need to replenish such as erasers, colored pencils?
  • Small pouch of mints ... You were 'mint' to be my awesome student!
  • Or if erasable pens are permitted .. kids might love new-to-them colors that their parents don't always send with them.
  • Finding cute Valentine packaging ideas is a snap for any little gifts, LOL. Finding non-candy gifts just takes a little more thinking ... depending on the age group.
  • How about a flavored water? Create a fun hang-tag for each with a coordinating belly band?

I taught fourth grade for many years, and what my students liked best was receiving coupons such as "sit by a friend for a day," "skip homework for one night," etc. You could punch a hole in the corner and tie the coupons to a valentine pencil from the dollar store with ribbon. As others have said, most schools don't let you bring in any food items anymore due to allergies.

This one is very nice and I'm really happy for her, I would like to know how things are going for her now because I understand it's much harder for the teacher now, is that right?

As a teacher I can say that this is the case, you just haven't taken into account that there are different states where the amount paid to teachers differs. For me it's ok because I don't have children and family, but for the future, I might become a teacher because I won't be able to support my family. Moreover, now students use sources like https://paperell.net/buy-college-essay because buy college essay papers it is much more cost-effective and logical because many students work; on top of that we teachers have to control in fact not the student's reading but the paper written by someone else so this does not make much sense, in general, I think that soon the teaching profession will be very changed.

Maybe you can give them a diary (for their thoughts and feelings)

Another idea would be you could make treat bags and tuck a packet of hot chocolate in it. That is what I am doing for my students for Christmas. I am making 104 of them because I teach middle school. That also is something that students with nut allergies can have. (I called a parent with a child that has severe nut allergies and the parent said that was fine)

It depends on how much money you want to spend :smile My child is asking for a drone, so I'm going to present him DJI mini SE. But its controlling is only exclusively under supervision. Children are now addicted to technology.

Buying diaries for over 20 students might be a bit more pricey than the OP intended- she did say she was looking for something small.

I work in a school and often make Valentines for the kids. Our district is VERY strict about food/candy so I avoid that. The kids seem to love personalized things best. I often make traditional or magnetic book marks with the students’ first names stamped or made with alphabet die cuts. They are a huge hit.

The parent committee of our class makes similar gifts for children every year. Last year they decided to survey children, and they chose...drumroll... Minecraft figurines. We live in a strange time
