How long have YOU been on SCS, and what's your story??
How long have YOU been on SCS, and what brought you two together?
About 2.5 years ago I went to a stampin' up workshop and i LOVED it. I was a scrapbooker ONLY (had never really tried making cards) and the workshop rocked my world... anyway, the demo mentioned SCS and i was totally excited to check it out, but I got home and couldn't for the life of me remember the name... THEN I had a workshop a few months later and got her to WRITE it down (splitcoaststampers.com) and finally, we met.
I was addicted from day one. I started posting cards not long after I joined with my 2 STAMP SETS!! haha.. but I quickly starting amassing more and more supplies. And that brings us to today. I started a blog ONE YEAR AGO tomorrow, i've had my cards published several times, I design for Scor-pal, been featured a bunch of times etc etc etc..
Oh yah.. SCS has enriched my life, FOR SURE!
Let's hear YOUR love story with SCS!

My exSIL is the one that actually told me about SCS.. I think back in Feb 2005 is the join date that they have for me.. I was on an older computer and gosh oh golly, things moved slowly.. I must say they are FAB now!! I love splitcoast as I like to call it.. and my husband is always asking me.. "are you on splitcoast again?" yes!! Pam

My demo told me about the site and I love it. It is really smart of her to plug this site since I think I spend more money looking at all the stuff on this site!
I had just bought a new set (Peaceful Wishes) and couldn't think of many ways to use it besides the generic framing of the card with the pine stamp. SO I googled "cards Peaceful Wishes" or something like that, and got sent to several blogs (before I knew what blogs were) but one of the cards that I found was this card by Jeanne Streiff and thought wow, what the heck is this place??? And that was my introduction to SCS.
Been here since May 2004. I saw many references at that time on the Stampin' Discuss Board for SU demonstrators.
SCS -- still love it after all these years!!!
My demo also pointed out this website to me during a workshop. At the time I had belonged to a scrapping site that also had some card swaps on it. When I found this site I was so excited to see everyone's talent. I find SCS a great source of encouragement and inspiration.
I have been here for a couple of years.. I did a search on google for card sketches... so I could have an idea for cards and voila.... Splitcoaststampers entered my life lol and I have never been the same.
After doing digital scrapbooking for awhile, my sister talked me into trying paper scrapbooking. My aunt told me about a die cutter (I think it was spellbinders) and I thought I had to have one. But before I went out and spent money, I wanted to investigate. I did a google search on Cuttlebug and it took me to SCS forum. OH MY GOD....I THOUGHT I DIED AND WENT TO HEAVEN!
I have since joining, stopped for now with scrapping and LOVE making cards and party favors (nugget boxes...love em). I wont even say out loud how much money Ive spent so far on stamps, paper, inks, dies, etc. ....BUT HECK...Im happy. Ive learned SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much here. Since joining, I got my aunt who is a master for many years at calligraphy and card making, ASKING ME....."HOW DID YOU DO THAT"
I told her about this place and she loves it too.
Thanks to everyone here who shares their time and talents.

I've been on SCS for a year and a half, but really only active for the past several months. My papercrafting addiction started about 3 years ago. I've done a little scrapbooking but my primary passion is rubber stamping/card making. I am an SU-aholic and have the most fabulous demo. I still haven't posted anything to my gallery yet...but that's the next step...I just gotta find the guts to do it!!!
Great thread idea jazzytobi!!!

I've been a member since Nov. 2006, so about a year and a half. I was really into scrapping and looking to sell it for a company, but was unsure. A co-worker invited me to her SU party and I went. I was hooked!! I knew nothing about SU or stamping. Just that I was in love with the whole concept.
My hubby got me my demoship as a Christmas gift. I wasn't allowed to open my box of goodies that you get when you sign up until Christmas morning (I was going nuts!! I was "officially" a demo on Nov. 30th). He even bought me the extra stuff you can get.
With that I got my first stamp set ever "Heartfelt Thanks" and do this day it remains my favorite. I will cry when that one retires.
I was on myspace looking for an SU group to join and everyone kept talking about SCS. I was like what is this place? So, I checked it out. I didn't really know how to navigate it or anything at first. My upline showed me a few things on the site and I've been so hooked.
There are times when I haven't been as into stamping, but I just got out of a very stressful workplace and my creativity has come back to me. I need to make more cards now, lol. :-)
Anyhows, here's my life story when it comes to SU and SCS.

My aunt told me about it... Wednesday was exactly 1 year. I started making cards about then too

Less than a year here. I started scrapbooking a couple of years ago, then started dabbing a little with cardmaking. I stumbled upon SCS and began learning SO MUCH from this site between the galleries and the forums -- way more than I've learned from books and other sites over the years. I credit SCS with the progress I've made with cardmaking. I have yet to showcase my cards in the gallery, but I'll get there soon! (My scrapbooking has been put on the "backburner"; cardmaking has become my "new love"!) I am TOTALLY addicted!!!

Well how cool is that!!! I got Miss Sophie to SCS!
I found SCS through my upline a little over 3 years ago. I was a brand new SU! demo and pretty new to stamping. I found the challenges (and VSN) right away and became addicted quickly.

I was a scrapbooker for years and that industry started using lots of stamps. I bought some SU Ink pads on ebay and an SCS member directed me to this site. I didn't even look at the link for about a year or so. I joined one year ago this month  and my life is now forever craftily fulfilled. lol!
Three years ago this month. I'd been stamping for about 4 years at that point but never went online for anything because we only had dial-up at 28K. Man, that was slow! In 2004, we moved to OH and got high-speed internet service, and that made it lots easier to spend time on the 'puter. After a while, I stumbled across SCS, lurked for a few months, then joined. It's an addiction for sure, but I just love all the ideas and sharing here!
Been here since May 2004. I saw many references at that time on the Stampin' Discuss Board for SU demonstrators.
SCS -- still love it after all these years!!!

Same for me! Even the month and the year, too funny. Maybe we say the same post on Stampin' Discuss. I couldn't imagine my stamping without this site!!
I went to my first Stampin' Up workshop during last year's SAB and after my first card I was totally hooked. A friend of mine (our daughters were in Kindermusik together) is my demo (now upline) and I knew she did something with stamping but always resisted having any interest in it. In part, I think I knew the path ahead and I had to be prepared for the inevitable addiction, and I also thought it was "cheating" to use stamps instead of drawing. Wow - was I ever wrong LOL!!
She told me about Splitcoaststampers right away. My first flutterings of true love for SCS was realizing that I could go to the Trade forum and acquire old retired sets which were a revelation for me!! I made several incredible friends there, and then, once my "hunt" was over, I started to feel a little SCS withdrawal and quickly discovered the joys of cruising General Stamping and the Techniques pages and on, and on and on.
This past Spring I signed on as an SU demo and gained access to the Demo features of SCS.
My love for SCS continues ~ I visit every day and it continues to amaze me. The people here are so generous with their time and knowledge ~ there is a spirit of sisterhood here that I have never known before. And the tutorials and galleries have helped me to grow in my art as never before. There is great depth here... of spirit and resources.
The other day I told someone that I wondered what I would do without stamping and SCS.... I would probably dote on my daughter and our animals even more than I do ~ but all of that attention would be coming from an INSANE person!!! LOL!!
I have been a member for almost 5 years! I found Kim McNutt's website first and she had a link for this website on hers, now she has a blog instead. She is registered as Nuttnhoney on SCS and here is one example of her very fine artwork: Nesties and the Seaside by nuttnhoney at Splitcoaststampers

I actually heard about SCS when I was on the Advisory Board retreat. It was mentioned at one of our board meetings with the Executive Team. I came home that October 2004 and checked it out. I have been hooked ever since!!
I joined because I was going to sign up as an SU demo. Well I was then diagnosed with Graves Disease and never signed up. July of 2006 is my sign up here. I am signing to be a demo in August since I just went through Radiation I131 Therapy for my Graves and I should start to feel better soon.

I got hooked on stamping after attending a SU party (that I really didn't want to attend and only went to be a good friend). The demo was nice and when she asked me if I wanted to have a workshop, I said, "Sure what the heck." I was completely hooked after my workshop and found this site from another demo. I lurked for a long time and then officially signed up in March 2006. I don't know what I would do with SCS! Who would have thunk it?
I've been on here since July, 2004 - not quite the begining; but it was a smaller community back then! I found it through a google search of Stampin Up sites. I was not a demo, just an avid customer. Actually, I'm the one that introduced my demo to the site!
I started staming in summer 1996 by attending my SIL SU workshop. I had no interest in stamping, but wanted to be polite and support my SIL. Interestingly, she hasn't stamped in years and I'm now hopelessly addicted!

I've been here since March 06. I went to a SU workshop and fell in love. Then I started searching google for Stampin' Up! ideas and this site kept coming up. Every time I clicked on it though, it brought me to the forums, and at the time I thought forums were stupid , and without noticing the gallery link at the top, I'd leave and keep trying to find ideas. One day I ended up here again, found the galleries, realized the forums were actually pretty cool and very informative, and now I spend waaayyy too much time one here ;).
I came in 2004. Not sure how I came across it. I am sure my Stampin Up demo told me about it at the time. I have only just recently joined in the past 6 months. Not sure why I waited so long!!!
Joined in June of 2004. I started lurking a little before that. Got sucked in and can't seem to pull myself away. Hmmmmm ... I've been accused of being here 24/7 ....
I heard about it as an SU demo and found this to be SOOOOOOOO much more help than Stampin' Discuss (I *hated* that forum and the delay in the posts and answers).
I settled in to SCS quite nicely. Can you tell that by my post count????
I joined in 2004 and I was told about it by my sister who was my upline. I sure have become better at making up cards on my own since joining;) and of course my stamps have multiplyed with my supplies.
I don't think I could live without SCS!

I have been a "real" member for a year and a half but I lurked around for 2 1/2 years before finally registering. Where did I first find out about SCS? In the bathroom at SU Convention 2004 in Orlando where I saw a ribbon on someone's nametag and overheard her explaining what Splitcoast is to someone else. Got curious and checked it out when I got back home.

I started coming to SCS almost 4 years ago. My neighbor who got me into SU told me to google "Stampin Up" and then search within the results for particular stamp sets (by name) when I needed ideas. I noticed that most of the pictures of cards I was seeing after doing that were in the SCS gallery, so I signed up and the rest is history.
I joined almost two years ago, when I found out about it on the Creating Keepsakes message board. I've learned so much here and am so grateful for the community of stampers who share their artwork everyday. LOVE it!

I just love the smell of Stazon in the morning!
I became a SU Demo in February 2007. I was looking under BST in the demo site and someone mentioned Splitcoast. So, I googgled it and that's how I started coming here.
I joined quite a while ago, when the most recent 3 cards used to be posted on the home page. It has grown quite a bit since then. I spend my morning here every day, checking things out. What would I do without SCS!!
My date shows March 2004; my how time flies. I have no clue how I found SCS but sure am glad I did. I've actually told SU demos at workshops/parties about SCS and they didn't know!!!
I was surfing the net in 2006 looking for some techniques and found a couple here. I bookmmarked it and moved on. I fell upon it a few months later and actually posted. Then I ran into the CNY ladies, went to one of their get togethers and started making some good friends. Did I mention 4 of us went enabling together today!!!
